    “We visited this DG while staying at Pipestem. We live outside of Charlottesville, VA, about 4 hours away. My husband went one evening without us and he told me I needed to see this store. We have frequented DGs and Dollar Trees all over the USA. This DG is by far, the best we have visited. It was a combination of Dollar Tree, DG, small grocery store, and a camp store. They have everything we needed and I was delighted to find stocking stuffers for my 3 kids and beautiful Christmas gift tags. Thank you for this pleasent surprise!     “I can get basic groceries and household needs. Most of the things that I buy on a regular basis they carry and you cannot be their prices! The grocery side is compact, which I love. If I need milk or eggs I can go in there, get what I need and get out quickly. I know some of the employees, which is nice.”

    “i always get good clearance deals there. their ok price wise but produce could last longer wish they had more options available if you need dietary restrictions low sodium low fat low carb they don't have many other alternatives also regular items tend to be pricey but if you need bread milk eggs or some hamburger meat they're ok to run in grab a couple must haves they have some lower cost dog chews and treats too”

    “What's for lunch today? After spending the morning at a coffee shop, it's time to have a proper (ish) meal and I headed to Kroger for shopping. This store is clean, laid out well and I had no problem in the frozen aisle finding a microwaveable meal. I think it's a somewhat older store but the fixtures and lighting was in good shape. The rest of the store was clean and tidy, prices were clearly marked and the one associate I encountered asked if I needed any assistance. Self-checkout worked just fine and since Kroger owns Harris Teeter (my local chain in the Charlotte area), I was able to use my VIC card number. A good experience.”

    Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.

    Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
