4019 East Cumberland Road, BluefieldI honestly don’t know if I’ll ever be able to properly put into words how much Veterinary Associates of Bluefields means to me and my animals.
Our animals aren’t just pets. They are our family, and when something is wrong with them, it hurts in a way that is hard to explain. This veterinary office has been there for us more than once, and they have shown us compassion when we needed it most.
They helped our Poose when she lost her fang, and more recently, they were there for our Tookie. Tookie had a really difficult time after his neuter. He wasn’t eating or drinking the way he should, he was hurting, and I was scared. Anyone who knows me knows how much these animals mean to me, and watching him struggle was heartbreaking. The doctors and staff listened to my concerns, took care of him, gave him the treatment he needed, and helped us get through a very scary few days.
But what happened with the bill is something I will never forget.
We simply didn’t have all the money needed for Tookie’s care. I was terrified that we were going to be put in a position where we couldn’t get him everything he needed because we couldn’t afford it. Instead of just saying, “You have to figure it out,” they helped us. They actually reached out and found other people who were willing to help with the cost of his care.
I cannot tell you what that meant to me.
They could have just been a veterinary office that treated my kitten and sent us home. Instead, they saw a scared person who was trying desperately to take care of her family, and they helped us find a way. That kindness is something I will carry with me for a very long time.
When Tookie was hurting, they helped him. When Poose needed them, they helped her. And when we were struggling financially, they helped us too.
I am so incredibly grateful to every doctor, technician, receptionist, and person at Veterinary Associates of Bluefields who has had a hand in caring for our babies. Thank you for treating them with kindness, for listening to me when I was worried, and for going above and beyond when we needed it.
Tookie is doing so much better now, and seeing him eating, playing, and acting like himself again means the world to me. ❤
Thank you for being there for our family when we needed you most. We will never forget it. 🐾❤

2415 Washington St, BluefieldWild Things always takes wonderful care of our dogs. They are diligent about cleaning and maintaining a safe environment for your beloved pet. They are taken out multiple times for bathroom breaks and playtime. They follow any instructions left for your pet about feeding, medications, etc. The staff obviously love animals and always remember their names whether you are a regular or just an occasional visitor. The kennels are heated/air conditioned depending on the needs of you pet at the time. Each dog has their own food and water bowls that are cleaned daily. They also have a huge play area with lots of fun obstacles to climb and jump over. In the summer, they take them out for water play. My dogs absolutely love it here and start to get uncontroablly excited about 2 miles away.
