“Prices are usually reasonable. Selection is above average. Store is clean and organized. Needs more cashiers at the register, though - I spent as much time shopping as I did waiting at checkout (10-15 min).”

“I cannot express enough gratitude for Kathy’s House. The staff and volunteers have been truly amazing — so kind, compassionate, and welcoming from the moment I arrived. Their warmth and generosity created a comforting, supportive environment during a time when it was needed most. I am incredibly thankful for the care, thoughtfulness, and heart they put into everything they do.”

“I still can't believe such a place exists. I went for my first time and was blown away in a good way. I was so impressed with the staff, the layout, the offerings. You get so much each visit so I don't mind them making us wait 3 months between visits. Having fallen on hard times, I was so happy to have new (for me) clothes and shoes. Everything was in perfect condition. It was more like a regular store than a thrift store. I was most excited to get a perfectly new Kate Spade purse. Everyone wants to feel good and presentable. This is more than just a place for help with clothing, shoes, accessories...it's a boost for your spirit. I only wish I'd known of this amazing place sooner!”

“Wow, wow I am just at a loss for words! What an immense blessing this place is! Everything is so clean and all the people here are so nice. There is plenty of food in the general use fridges and pantries and there are free meals at 5 pm. We have really felt at home during this hard time. Thank you Ronald Macdonald House!”

“I attended the flippered friends and family encounter in addition to one of the shows. It was amazing and I would do it again in a heartbeat. The animals are so well cared for, the staff is amazing - Brittany went out of her way for me. The seals and sea lions are so eager and excited to interact and show off all they know. It was one of the best experiences of my life! Ocean Connections is such a great program for helping flippered friends in need.”

“This place is amazing. Truly a hidden gem. The effort, talent, and dedication to this hobby shine through! The members were so kind to welcome us in and help our 2-year-old run the train table. Thank you for sharing your love of trains with the community! (While it is free to get in, we left a few dollars in their donation bucket to keep the trains running!)”

“Hi, I just completed an application for a consideration for an adoption and BEFORE even going through the process and getting my own experience with the adoption process, I wanted to read reviews and I like to comment on “negative” posts: Guys, please be reasonable about your comments! It is their job to find a good pet owners for pets in their care! I would not give you my pet, if you surrendered yours for an “upgrade”! The same goes for cage that is still sitting in a box, disassembled and you walk in “ready” for an adoption! This is not working well! Be ready to show a picture of a ready and all set cage! It is a reasonable request! You like to adopt a bird, please support your decision with right actions! It is very stressful for birds to travel from one place to another and another and… so. This is why you see featherless birds sitting in their cages with lost hope in their eyes!!!!! Dogs laying in a corner of their cages without interest to visitors! Pets are not a cute “Christmas gift” to play with and return/surrender them later!!! Their life is too short to be treated unfairly! They need a stable home with people who love them and care for them for as long as it takes!!!!! And yes, VET bills are expensive, but they are not a part of “saving” extra few dollars for a “rainy day”!
Things that are important: Birds being well taking care of and people are doing their job well for finding right homes/ owners for them! I am expecting a lot of questions and I am not concerned with the process! If this happens that I have to walk away without a bird that I want to adopt, I will sadly without any negative thought accept this decision and prepare better for the next interview ! Respectfully. LK”

“I have been driving past this place forever and a day looking at the public is welcome sign so my first attempt to stop by had a bad sign, every spot in the lot was taken and it's a big lot. What I didn't know is they have a banquet hall and the bar might have had a seat for me. It's a regulars crowd and a medium size bar with a game room on the side with hi tables. Joanie was working and was super friendly with the locals giving her crap but she was a trooper. This is the best kept secret in Milwaukee because it's the cheapest bar to drink in with beer bottles and rail drinks starting at $2.50, my Gin Rickey was $2.50 to my amazement and I can't remember the last time I paid $2.50 for a cocktail. The crowd was diverse, dah cheap drinks. The food is frozen pizza, chicken strips and various breads like garlic bread. If you want bang for your drinking dollar than this is the place to go.”

“This thrift store is a fave of mine when shopping around for little trinkets. They have a surprisingly large selection of handkerchiefs which you really just don't see much of anymore. The items that are considered vintage are in a separate section and although they are priced a little higher do sometimes go down based on whatever deals may be going on that day/week. I stumbled upon it when driving by one day but have made it a point to stop in if I'm in the area, would definitely recommend checking them out if you're on the hunt for bits and bobbles!”

“Contacted a few places about donating some leggos. They were one of few in communicating back to me. They said they could use them in their new class room. When I dropped them off the gentlemen was happy, telling me how they help the kids to learn. Glad to see people working hard to help kids learn and build life skills.”

“Nice, clean affordable space. There could be some updates to the carpet beyond anything else. But for the space you get and your own ability to transform the space, renting this place out for your next occasion is worth it.”

“Without publicly sharing too much personal private information about my family I'd like to say that Family Promise has helped members of my immediate family when they REALLY needed it. I'm grateful for them as they've helped to put my loved ones in a much safer healthier and stable environment and are helping them get on a less rugged path. They're focused on helping to set my loved ones up for success, not necessarily by giving handouts but by sharing ideas on resources available to help with becoming more financially and independently stable while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I'm honestly very grateful for everything they've done and are continuing to do for my family. Thank you so very much for everything!! I see hope in my daughters eyes and a glow about her i haven't seen in quite some time. You are helping more than you even realize!????”

“Wisconsin Veterans Network, or VetsNet, works with more than 40 different agencies to help veterans and family members in need. They will help any vet, including Reserve or National Guard members, with no red tape or Catch-22s. If you served, they'll help and link you with the services you need. They're veterans themselves and can relate to what you're going through. Don't hesitate to call them or stop in.”
