Ms. Keekers now has high BP along with her Thyroid issue (often times the two will develop together)which in cats can cause blindness ☹. She has bleeding in the back if her eyes and cannot currently see-hopefully getting her on meds will get things under control and she will regain her sight or at least some of it. I have to say that Doc Olson at Blue Pearl was very good to us- so glad there was somewhere to get her in rather than waiting.
On July 30:
Went for the first followup for Ms. Keekers today. Vet said I did a great job with getting her in and giving meds-she couldn’t see any evidence of any issues with her eyes and she has her vision back! Her BP is still on the high side of normal but, could have been due to stress of going to a new clinic. So she goes back in just over 2 weeks for a re check to see if it is still elevated and go from there.

BluePearl Pet Hospital
2100 West Silver Spring Drive, GlendaleUnfortunately, we had to utilize Blue Pearl Pet Hospice (through Blue Pearl Vet) to assist with putting our family dog down. We wanted to do in-home euthanasia because we wanted our dog to be home with us in a comfortable space when it happened.
I was able to schedule next day with Blue Pearl - the process to set it up was easy and they responded quickly. Dr. Elke came to our house for the procedure, and she was the sweetest and most compassionate person. She explained the process to us, allowed us as much time as we needed with our dog, and provided resources to us/our kids for the grieving process. She took a terrible situation and helped us feel at peace with what had to be done. Afterward, she even sent us a condolences card.
While we hate the situation and miss our guy terribly, we felt like we made the right choice by using Blue Pearl Pet Hospice. We also ordered a nose print, paw print, and clay paw print. Those were ready within about two weeks, and we’re happy to have those to treasure.

Sad I didn’t get to try the lobster roll since they were out (that’s why I came here). However, got the Caribbean Jerk Barramundi and it was phenomenal!
