Salty Paws
Directly across from H2O Hydration, Corcoran Lofts Building, 121 N Jefferson St, MilwaukeeWe love Salty Paws!! The shop has such a delightful vibe…the space is considerably larger than I thought it would be, which is so nice because there’s plenty of room to move around while you shop and allow your dog space to do the same. There are oodles of quality treats, chews, and clever dog toys and accessories to choose from. A few weeks ago, I picked up a Woof Pupsicle and Wellness Pops for my dog, and this week I snagged some salmon doggy ice cream to go!

Gary's Pet Jungle
2857 S Howell Ave, MilwaukeeHaven't run my aquariums for about a decade, due to lack of time for hobbies, but Gary's was my favorite shop back in the day. I decided to dust off one of my tanks and get going again, and went straight to Gary's for some supplies. Gary was as friendly and helpful as ever, and went above and beyond this time in putting his customers first. He no longer carries the brand of power filter I have. So, I couldn't get a replacement foam block there. In spite the problems he told me about with the company, he advised me that it's a great quality filter and I should keep running it until it dies. Without a doubt, most shops would have just tried to sell me a new filter. He offered to try and find replacement foam, for which he'd be lucky to make a $1 profit. I told him I'd find one online rather than put him through all that trouble for basically nothing. I'll for sure be checking there first for anything else I need. The shop does seem to be struggling a bit: Limited selection of fish at the moment, no hired help. Hopefully business will pick up and Gary's will once again be the upbeat local gem I remember.

Tiny Tykes Puppies
2661 S Howell Ave, MilwaukeeWe lost our Yorkie service dog of 14 years a week ago due to age and failing health. He truly did his job to alert of elevated blood pressure. The house hasn't been the same. So we started our hunt for a REASONABLY price new replacement.Welcome Zig-Zag. (Wasn't me naming him). This whole procedure took less than an hour. This a great little shop with a extremely informative owner. You can see he cares about ALL his puppies. Bay View Bark
1820 S 1st St, MilwaukeeSuch awesome staff! Never seen Zak jump and bark so excited to be in daycare. Love the daily report cards and LOVE the fact that our pups daycare includes daily training and trick of the day.We moved out of bay view but will continue to bring him here as the experience and service is just worth it.Last, I have had a peace of mind since Zak began attending bay view bark. In summary we changed Zak from a franchise daycare (central bark) due to bad service and behavior changes in Zak…… I can tell bay view bark cares as they made sure to give me a virtual tour of the facility with the option to attend an open house, they made sure they over communicated with me to assure me all the care and training pups get before I enrolled Zak…... And since the switch I can see a drastic change in Zak’s behavior. He is much more brave, confident, and at ease when home. Zak is given his treats, lots of love, and lunch packed by us daily. I honestly love all the bay view bark team and Julia whom helped Zak be his sweet and brave self again.Ty bay view bark team <3

She is very matted and smells pretty terrible. She is the sweetest though! We took her to Community Bark Dog Wash where we were greeted by the nicest front desk associate. She took to our Hannah immediately and saw the intense matting that she had. She got a colleague who also came-out and was awesome. They explained that we shouldn't bath her because the matts would get tighter and worse to deal with and explained they'd reccomend us finding a groomer we could get her into right away. They were busy and currently not taking big dogs.We found a place to get her into today and will certainly be bringing her and our other two dogs here in the future.Outstanding service. Milwaukee Paws Pet Care
MilwaukeeWe have been using Milwaukee Paws Pet Care for 2 years now and they are great! Our dog Theo doesn't do well with the typical daycare setting and the large pack of dogs. So when we're going to be gone for a long day of work, we have Milwaukee Paws take him on a 2-hr Urban Adventure to get his steps, sniffs, and release some zoomies (sometimes out on the long leash, sometimes to pet stores or Home Depot, etc. if raining). They always email us a summary of the Adventure and some pictures from the outing (they take great pics, too!). The team loves Theo, and he is always happy to see and play with them - and enjoys his break from the house before we get home. The team is also respectful of our space and good with him in the car.

We brought our 2 dogs in because one of them, our blue Heeler puppy, had started biting and becoming aggressive due to his protective nature.By the time our sessions were through Gibbs was no longer anxious around other people and was obeying our commands even better than our other dog.The training isn’t for the dogs, it’s really for the owners. And now our family is confident we can take Gibbs with us without worrying about him since we now know what to do. So glad we didn’t waste more money on another trainer. Thanks for everything Chaz!!!

3131 S 27th St, MilwaukeeOn my visit to Milwaukee, I was told I had to try Frozen Custard, and I had to try it from both Leon's and Kopp's... so I did, on the same afternoon!! At Leon's I had a triple dip (3 scoops) of their Butter Pecan ($4.50), and it was very very good... Better than the Boston Cream Pie Custard I had at Kopp's. I also liked the historic vintage feel of Leon's establishment over the more modern 'polished' vibe at the Kopp's venue. Do the taste test for yourselves and visit both establishments. A good excuse to eat more Frozen Custard.
