“I brought in two posters to be framed. I was looking for something where the matting would be the same green in both even though the greens in the two prints were a little different from each other and the frames would go well with my hardwood floors. The owner of this shop nailed it within just a few minutes, suggesting a color combination that was perfect! Excellent work, relatively short time frame, and reasonably priced. I'll definitely be back!”

“Stopped by on a whim today, after passing by many times and wanting to check it out. Terry is a great conversationalist with a fantastic eye. I left very happy with a new favorite piece for my wall.”

“Incredibly helpful staff with fantastic judgement and a keen sense of aesthetics; oh, and their workmanship is perfect. Lucky to have a frame shop like this in our city. I trust them totally and completely (they have framed dozens of works of art for us, and we are thrilled with each and every one).”

“What a lovely, picturesque venue! I've visited twice for events, and each experience has been wonderful. The restored train car creates a truly unique atmosphere that's both comfortable and inviting. Local Motive is a memorable setting for any gathering, and the staff made the experience even better. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating from start to finish. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests and take pride in what they do. Whether you're attending an event or considering Local Motive for your next private event, I recommend it and am already looking forward to my next visit.”

“Brought this canvas painting home from vacation rolled up in my suitcase thinking it would be easy to stretch it out over a frame. The owner Cory took extra time to go into detail about the framing process and all aspects taken into consideration for it. He helped me choose a dry mount option to preserve the edges of the painting since the border wasn't wide enough to be stretched. He also talked me through a handful of different frames/pricing options and really listened to what I was looking for instead of talking me into the most expensive option. This is my first time having something custom framed vs buying it already framed, so I truly appreciate the education and expertise he provided. Patience, care, service, and attention to detail were outstanding! Clearly passionate about the craft! Final product: beautiful 💜🤍 (before and after photos included)”

“This is the perfect place to find souvenirs or gifts for a friend or yourself if you’re looking for something made with heart by local artists; I love that they have a great selection of art in all kinds of styles and at truly ALL price ranges, and some of them are so outrageously well-priced that it makes you wonder if they were mass-produced in a sweatshop (NO, they are NOT!); there was also plenty of free street parking when I arrived during Labor Day weekend. Make sure to ask for the names of the artists who made the stuff you buy at checkout!”

“Just stopped in after eating at the Turkish cafe and got some cute pants. The shop owner was super nice, and told us so much of how she and her husband came about all the great prints, and the shop! Madison ... this is a gem with cute stuff for gifts for your friends or co workers. So much to look at! I highly recommend this store!”
