“I hosted a retreat recently at Local Motive, and it was absolutely perfect.
The space itself is beautiful and comfortable (which is weirdly hard to find) plus it's full of character and history. It really makes the space feel special.
But what truly made the experience stand out was Prasanna. He was an incredible host & throughout the entire process...kind, responsive, flexible, and genuinely invested in helping make the retreat a success.
Every detail was handled with care, and Prasanna went above and beyond to make sure everything flowed smoothly. My group kept commenting on how welcoming and inspiring the space felt. It set the perfect tone for connection, creativity, and reflection.
If you’re looking for a Madison event space with great energy and an owner who truly cares, I can’t recommend Local Motive (and Prasanna!) enough.”

“I had an expensive oil painting shipped from a trip that arrived without a wire to hang it. I brought it to Douglas and they put the picture hanger on while I waited and wouldnt let me pay for it! They were so nice and the store has some very nice art work as well. Will definitely go back for. y framing needs.”

They helped me pick out the perfect frame and matting to go along with the ornate, 120-year-old, very fragile document, and the customer service was all-around amazing.
