“Can get most of what we need here for better prices than most other places. Can't get everything we need but a vast majority and the products are good quality. Aldis has come a long way from where it was 30 years ago.”

“I lived downtown for a short time while working near the Capitol, and Capitol Centre Market honestly became one of those places I ended up visiting almost every day without planning to. At first, I only stopped in because it was convenient and within walking distance of my apartment, but after a while it turned into my regular grocery spot for late-night snacks, quick dinners, and random essentials I forgot to buy elsewhere.

What surprised me most was how much bigger the store feels once you walk inside. From the outside it looks like a small neighborhood market, but they somehow manage to pack in almost everything — groceries, deli food, frozen meals, fresh produce, drinks, even random household stuff like batteries and medicine. A lot of locals online mention the same thing about the store feeling larger and more stocked than expected.

One night after getting home from a delayed flight around 11 PM, I stopped there just hoping to grab milk and something quick to eat. Not only were they still open, but the deli area actually had fresh prepared food left instead of empty shelves.”

“Very grateful to have 4 downtown grocery stores in Madison. Shopping here will get you most of what you need, with items like produce being fairly reasonably priced. There is a good selection of canned goods, unlike at Target on State St. However, I find the pricing of some items to be predatory. A gallon of milk is more per unit than a half gallon for some reason. It’s like they think customers just won’t notice they’re paying more for no reason. I’ll just buy milk elsewhere. Chicken nuggets/patties are like $7 per pound, more than actual less processed meats.”

“A fabulous grocery store! One of my favorites through all the travel I have done. It is local and carries and supports a lot of local brands. I cannot say enough good things about it. All fair prices and a massive selection. Much better prices than Festival and Whole Foods on a much larger scale.”

“Expensive but I like the items they have here, very unique, which may explain the pricing. Staff are kind and helpful and the store is very well organized and easy to navigate. Worth checking out.”

“It's the perfect spot to pick up some specialty cheese. You can also grab a few snacks! Helping to keep the streets clean is a real joy and a great way to contribute to the community. Even a single bag can make a difference”
