The River Food Pantry is South Central Wisconsin's busiest food pantry, providing free groceries, freshly prepared meals, online grocery orders, mobile meals, and emergency food lockers. Since 2006, The River has grown to serve over 2,500 people every week, redistributing rescued food and resources to local partners to increase access while minimizing waste. The River is known for its kind staff, regular offerings of produce and meat, and a line that can be intense at opening and closing, so it's better to go in the middle of a service. Customers praise the exceptional organization, the staff's top-notch work in battling food insecurity, and the great selection of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, as well as the convenient curbside grocery service with fresh poultry, dairy, and produce.
The River Pantry continues to be the staple in our community. Their new facility has several meeting rooms. It’s a beautiful effort to meet the needs of people experiencing hunger in our community. I encourage you to take a tour or volunteer.
