“Exceptional service. It was a weekend and we wanted to go to Alaska. Spoke with manager and she sent her staff and made me possible to rent a car. None of other rental companies help us as it was a weekend, but only the DRIVING FORCE. Given the other companies in Whitehorse/Yukon Driving Force’s price was also fair. So I highly recommend this place for everyone.”

“We had a great experience renting a vehicle from Driving Force at the Whitehorse Airport. First, Denise, the rental manager, was very nice and helpful on the phone to set up the rental after listening to what our proposed trip was. My brother and I were going to go from Whitehorse to Dawson City and then drive the 14 hour gravel road to the Arctic Ocean and also on The Top of the World Highway into Alaska.

When we arrived in Whitehorse, there was just one person at the counter, Haley Johnson. Fortunately, we were second in line out of about 5. She was efficient with everyone though. She was very friendly and told us our Yukon XL was the best vehicle to drive on the Dempster Highway up to Tuktoyaktuk, i.e., the Arctic Ocean. She was exactly right. We had heard stories of flat tires and needing extra gas cans. She said no it was a big tank and she was right. And this big SUV was great on these roads with the occasional potholes on the gravel roads. She also gave us excellent maps for all parts of the trip.

In turning in the car, I saw Haley in the parking lot briefly and thanked her for telling us how perfect that vehicle was for our trip. We liked the car very much and even took it to the Mighty Car Wash to make sure it looked good when we returned it. Haley said they appreciated that.

We did have a small crack in the windshield happen on our trip and we should have bought the insurance from Driving Force. However, Denise has been super nice and professional in dealing with us via emails since we returned the car.

We highly recommend Driving Force at Whitehorse Airport, renting the GMC Yukon XL, and these two women professionals, Denise Schwerzmann and Haley Johnson.”

I always get asked how can I drive if I can’t use my legs due to being paralyzed by polio. I can drive with hand controls, which I’ve done since I was 17. I’ve included some photos which shows how they work.

I’m grateful to the team at Whitehorse Subaru for being so accommodating and supportive with the installation of the hand controls into my new vehicle. ?

“Decent car rental place. Best to call for availability. Check in/out process was quick and easy. However, make sure to check invoice before agreeing to payment as errors may occur, which happened to me. Courtesy pick up/drop off at airport is included, which is great!”
