Our Mission is Simple: Help the hard working people of our city save money and reach their financial goals. In 1956, a group of Birmingham city employees recognized the city’s dedicated workers needed affordable, reliable financial services. On the eighth floor of City Hall, they founded what is now known as Birmingham City Credit Union. Like all credit unions, Birmingham City Credit Union is owned by its members, and every member has equal voting power to choose the credit union’s board members. This is your city, and we are your credit union!
