Marriott Birmingham offers a mixed experience for guests. The lobby bar has received negative feedback, particularly for its overpriced drinks and lack of quality, with one guest describing a poor old fashioned cocktail. The hotel’s restaurant also faces criticism, with reports of cold fries, watery soup, and hard sandwich bread. However, the front desk staff, especially one member, has been praised for their outstanding service, making check-in a pleasant experience. The location of the hotel is a highlight, with several nearby shops and restaurants. Guests have noted that while the lobby is bright and clean, the hallways and rooms are dark and in need of refurbishment, including carpet cleaning. Some rooms are comfortable, but the bathrooms have sliding doors that may not suit families or groups. The conference rooms and lobby area are noted to be clean and well-maintained. However, some guests have expressed concerns about staff interactions, feeling ignored at times and not receiving the service expected. Overall, while Marriott Birmingham has potential, it appears to need improvements in its dining options and staff consistency to enhance the guest experience.

It was weird that parking required permit decal yet there was no other business close to the hotel. Restaurant need a cook and better food selection. Soup (watery), fries (cold), turkey sandwich bread was hard/old, and meat and sandwich filling was scarce.
