“Stayed for the night of Thursday February 22, 2024.Check in/out was smooth. Room was smaller in size but had all basic amenities. There was no hair dryer in the room may be available upon request.Complementary breakfast was good, had everything one needs for breakfast.Decent lobby/breakfast areaWater of bottle at the desk was almost four pounds which is outrageous and cash grab from the customers.”

“The Grand Bohemian hotel really nails the expectations of a four star experience. The location, Mountain Brook, is ideally situated just outside of the Birmingham Alabama. From here you can access the city within 5mins or just mooch down to the local shops / amenities of Mountain Brook. The hotel, the associated restaurant and bar (Habitat), deliver across the board. If you’re keen from some cooking classes or wine tasting sessions you’d be hard pressed to find a venue which covers all the bases for the price and quality.”

“Sheila was an amazing host and owner of this house. She goes the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and like your at home. This is a one of a kind place and if you have a chance to stay I wouldn't hesitate. Breakfast was amazing too.Rooms: Every room has it's own theme and are all different.Noteworthy details: The breakfast was above and beyond what we had imagined”

“I lived a very short distance from this timeless place, in Hoover, Alabama. My Laboratory Associates and I couldn’t wait for the next excuse for spending our next weekend here. This is such an amazing place for Weddings! The pool is beautiful & the spa is AWESOME! The staff and food are always wonderful as well. #deStress #relaxingRooms: Large spacious, nice rooms and most all with a gorgeous view from the rooms of the gorgeous pool & Golf Course that surrounds the Marriott.Nearby activities: The boys and girls usually split up on Saturday mornings here after breakfast; the guys can’t wait to hit the golf course and the ladies of course head to the Riverchase Galleria Mall and then on to the outdoor Mall on Highway 280. These 2 Malls are my absolute personal FAVS ever! After a day of shopping, there’s not far to go for almost any restaurant / Bar - They line both sides of Hwy 280 as far as the eye can see!!Safety: I don’t recall ever seeing any safety issues. Modern technology seems to have this completely covered.Walkability: No issues whatsoever. This is a very large & spread out area we always had plenty of room for group exercise and then outdoor jogging as well.Food & drinks: As I stated before, the food and drinks were always superb. The employees, Chef and staff do an excellent job and go out of their way to please.Noteworthy details: Renaissance B’ham is perfect for business meetings or pleasure(I have obviously visited for both and no complaints. The rooms are quite spacious and there is plenty of room. The food was always also very delicious. I have attended at least 5 to 6 Weddings here, as well as 6 to 8 business/ leisure events.”

“My husband and I stayed here after our reservations at another hotel were canceled. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience during our stay. We were greeted by Erice and Tracy upon arrival. They were both helpful and willing to accommodate any requests we had. We will definitely book this hotel for our next stay in Birmingham.”

“We had a great experience here for our 2 nights in downtown Birmingham. Friendly staff, clean rooms in good shape considering how old the building is, quiet with comfortable beds and pillows, and surprisingly really good free breakfast. The weather was nice, so we enjoyed sitting on the front porch with a drink (that we brought) and our books, which was lovely. There's also 2 lounge areas inside where we could have sat and read. The only parking option is valet, but we parked in nearby public lot #3 for $18 for 2 whole days with zero issues. It's a couple blocks away, but if you don't mind walking, it's a great, cheaper parking option. There was no refrigerator in the room. That was the only negative we encountered.Walkability: We walk everywhere, so we would say it's a very walkable area. We walked to a couple restaurants, the Civil Rights Institute, and the arena for a concert.”

“Y’all, let’s talk about Brittany… first of all we showed up to the hotel in a terrible mood, late, because our last hotel we were at (non-Hyatt) was a terrible experience. Brittany was there with a huge smile and a positive attitude and ready to change our moods. We immediately knew we were in good hands. The experience of booking and getting into the room was painless and pleasant and she was so friendly. The CX here was so good, I will look at Hyatt first before going anywhere else. Now we are Hyatt rewards members and already looking forward to booking our next stay.Brittany - if you read this, thank you! Hyatt, if your reading this, get this girl a CX award, she certainly earned it last night!”

“The Elyton is right in Downtown Birmingham, close to everything and within walking distance to most. The hotel has had a nice renovation and it is very trendy. The staff is pleasant and helpful. However, the rooms are a bit over-styled (see photos). The room I stayed in was pretty busy with a lot of detail, but it was comfortable. The standout for this hotel is the rooftop bar, Moon Shine. The elevator that takes you to the roof has a clear ceiling and you can watch as the car approaches the roof of the building. The bar is nice and it gives fantastic access to terrific views of the city below.I did not have a chance to sample their Sunday brunch, but I have heard it is very good. Maybe I'll be back for that soon. The only negative is the cost of valet. ~$37 for valet is steep considering the lot is directly across the street from the hotel and was not even 1/2 capacity when I was there. I can see if there are big events in town and the hotel is fully booked, but not every day.Rooms: Comfy, busy style and detail.Walkability: Close to everything.”

“My room was nice, but the shower door was installed incorrectly and allowed water to leak all over the floor. Breakfast for $18 was similar to what other hotels offer gratis. The coffee was terrible. On the positive side, the area is nice and safe and the proximity of restaurants was a plus.”

“Our mini fridge made noise very frequently. I had to adjust the feet on it and wedge a towel under it to make it stop. Thankfully, we weren't in the room much. Shower was spectacular!”

“I was here for a week while getting repairs to my home. It was okay. I liked that they had a connection lined up with the local YMCA so I was able to go there to use the gym.”

“I used to work in the hotel industry so my standards are high. From the moment I stepped out of my car to valet park, to the time I left, the staff could not have been friendlier or more welcoming if they tried. They made sure everything was taken care of, with lots of smiles along the way! I experienced the best customer service from the valets, front office, housekeeping, and food service. The bartenders even got me big bags of ice for my sprained ankle! And every employee I passed, whether riding in the elevator or through the lobby greeted me with a cheerful hello and asked how my day was. Thank you for an excellent experience. I will highly and gladly recommend this hotel to all of my acquaintances who travel to Birmingham!Rooms: What I love most about the rooms is how spacious they are. Almost equally, I loved the ceiling heights and tall windows. To have three huge windows in a hotel room is a luxury! The bed was comfy, the room was clean, and the tv was a nice size! I also loved the sleek, upscale design of the bathroom. The keyless entry was another perk so I didn't have to keep track of a key card. I loved all the little details from the welcoming screen on the tv with my name when I arrived, to the peephole cover on the door!Safety: I felt very safe walking downtown near the hotel during the day.Walkability: Very easy!Food & drinks: I didn't have a long wait either time I ordered dinner, and the food was delicious. Try the Grilled NY Strip Bites Salad, cooked perfectly to order - you won't be disappointed!”

“We like using this chain when we have to stay at a hotel with our whole family. We like the separate living room and the curtain to separate bed from couch. Gets our kids to sleep without us having to be in the dark. Nice hotel and I really appreciated the parking in the city without having to use a parking deck.”

“Not sure why it only has 4.2 stars. It should have at 5/5 stars. Wonderful hotel. It’s up on a hill and you have a good view of the mountains. It is nice and quiet in that area. I felt extremely safe staying here for multiple nights as a single, young female traveling by myself. The front desk staff and the breakfast and staff were amazing and so friendly. I felt right at home and have never felt like that before! I’ve been to many hotels all around the country and this one puts every other hotel/airbnb to shame. It’s also conveniently close to so many good restaurants, hiking, and shopping so you won’t be bored. I will definitely be back!!”

“I have lived here for about 4 years now. I’ve seen several managers and staff come and go. About a year ago it’s was so bad with drugs out here my family started looking for another place to rent. Thankfully they got a new property manager. She has really cleaned the place up. Siegel feels like an actual community now. I’m not afraid to take my kids outside to play anymore. Ms Jericho has gone above and beyond to make this place feel like an actual home. I had several issues wrong with my unit that previous management had ignored. After having maintenance come down to fix them the same day she was made aware she personal came down herself and made sure the issues were fixed and we were happy with them. Every-time I make a payment she thanks us for choosing to stay here. If we ever have any issues she does the best she can to fix it and you can tell that she is very genuine and actual loves her job. The new staff are also amazing. They always have a smile on their face and they are always willing to help.”

“This place is decent. It’s clean. You can tell the hotel is a little older, but semi updated. Fairly large room. Free parking. 10 minute drive to downtown. Breakfast was adequate. The coffee was terrible though. The worst part is the smell in the hallways and entrance. I don’t know if it’s cleaning supplies or air freshener, but it’s way too strong. I would give this place 4.5 out of 5 stars if I could. Good for a night or two, but far from luxury.”

“The lady that checked us in didnt seem too happy to be there. There was a ton of construction, would've been nice to have had a heads up about that. Breakfast was empty a while before it was refilled. Rooms were nice.”

“Room and bathrooms were clean. The property was well maintained, likely newer compared to the other Hilton properties. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the breakfast selection, which was very minimal.”

“Andrea was phenomenal. I had to switch my room 3 times, before she found the perfect one. She was patient, professional and kind. I will definitely be recommending this hotel to anyone coming in from Canada. Her service was amazing!”

“I'm a huge fan of Hilton hotels. I believe they really have the best product for the money. That being said, this Fairfield Inn was top notch. Even with the room being a little smaller than most, the higher ceiling height makes a huge difference. Nicely appointed with everything you could need ”

“I checked in for a work trip. Room was nothing fancy but clean and recently renovated. However in the morning when I went to take a shower the diverter valve handle was broken and unable to shower.Notified the front desk on checkout. The front desk clerk had no answer to the problem, but said that she would notify management.Later in the day I did receive an email from management refunding my stay. Thank you.The first moral of this story is real customer service is alive and well here. #2 check everything in room when you get there because at 5am there won’t be anyone around to fix it.I will definitely be staying again.Rooms: Clean and recently renovated.”

“The television volume was low even when maxed out but the staff came immediately to resolve the problem. The room was adequate for the price in Birmingham. Not the most modern or upscaled but inexpensive.”
