“Tyra at the front desk truly went above and beyond during my stay. I was not feeling well this evening and needed some hot water. Even though it was after hours, she took the time to help me without hesitation. Her kindness and willingness to go the extra mile made a difficult evening much more comfortable. She genuinely cares about her guests, and it shows. Tyra is an outstanding employee who absolutely deserves to be recognized for her exceptional customer service.
On another note, while the hotel itself is beautiful, I was a bit underwhelmed by the pool area. The pool was much smaller than expected, and there was very limited shaded seating available. It didn't quite match the overall quality and atmosphere of the rest of the property.”

“We love this Hilton right at UAB in Downtown Birmingham. It has super service and excellent, SAFE parking! Our room was clean and it had a nice large closet. The only item missing from our room, which we had planned on using as storage for our valuables, was the safe. So, we ended up taking them with us in my bag each time we left the hotel. Other than that, everything was perfect—we got new towels each day along with extra soap! The restaurant is outstanding and we highly recommend it for a late dinner and also for a delicious breakfast. Room service was also quite good for our dinner the evening we arrived late! I highly recommend this Hilton!”

“We have stayed a couple of times now. Each time we have gotten a different room. Each room has it's own personality. Always clean and fresh. The house itself is magnificent and full of character! The staff on the phone and in the house are wonderfully helpful and kind. We will definitely be staying here again. Location is good if you're looking for things to do and food to eat that is within walking distance.”

“Absolutely loved this hotel! From checking in to checking out, it was a great experience! The front desk clerk was friendly. She explained everything to us. Parking is paid and is in the rear of the hotel. It is gated with a code. I liked that. I would’ve liked it better if they would’ve had a gate at the through entrance/exit to go to and from the parking area. The rear door to the hotel is locked 24/7. You have to use your key card to gain entry. You have to use your key card to use the elevator. If you do not belong there, you will not be going up! They have an outdoor sitting and cooking area. I did not go and check it out, but it appeared that they have a few griddles to use if you choose to. You can see it through a glass wall from the lobby. There are plenty of restaurants with in walking distance of the hotel (5-10 minutes). The room had a couch, a kitchenette with a full size fridge and a countertop stove and a king size bed. We were in town to go to the Kirkland clinic, part of UAB. It’s just minutes from the hotel. Very nice area of Birmingham. We stayed on the 6th floor.”

“Chiquita is hands-down the best bartender and one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. From the moment I sat down, she treated me like an old friend—warm, genuinely caring, and full of great energy. She has this incredible way of making you feel seen and welcomed.
I walked in on a really bad day, but Chiquita completely turned it around. Even though laundry is not included at the hotel, she was so kind and was willing to do it for me! She made my frown upside down with her friendly conversation, perfect drink recommendations, and just pure positivity. She didn’t just serve drinks—she went above and beyond to help and lift my spirits.
The Kelly Birmingham is already a fantastic hotel, but Chiquita is the reason I’ll always recommend it to my friends and family. If you’re staying here, make sure you stop by the bar and say hi to her—you won’t regret it. She’s a true gem and the highlight of my stay. Thank you, Chiquita! ❤”
“Returning from a week of family time in Erwin, Tennessee...we were in need of a quiet night and stay. The Marriott Birmingham was the perfect destination.
Located just a mile from the Interstate, the Marriott was great to find. The lobby and reception experience was very fast, professional. We found a open and secure parking close to the front door and lobby. The walk to the room was very easy.
The room was very quiet, updated and modern. The bed and shower were terrific to unwind. Even though the hotel was busy with sport teams that were in town for tournaments, the hallways and open areas were large and quiet.
Ordering a sandwich and cocktails from the restaurant and bar just off the lobby was very easy, wtih a large menu and a bartender that really knew how to make a great old fashioned(!)
Having a Gold Elite status, I have visited many Marriott properties across the country for work and vacationing. The Marriott Birmingham is a great property, being updated and located conveniently to major thoroughfares. For travel, business, vacations- this is a hotel to put on the 'favorites' list for anyone. “I am writing my review based on customer service. I was trying to book this hotel and at first it was difficult because the phone system would not let me talk to a person. The website was also down at the time I was trying to book. Eventually I got a hold of a lady named TK and she turned out to be very helpful. I was able to talk to her as much as I needed. She mentioned she always tries to make someone's day and she made ours by helping us with our reservation! Very helpful!”
“Had a great experience staying at this Fairfield by Marriott. The customer service was excellent from start to finish — the staff were friendly, attentive, and made check-in and check-out a breeze. The location is fantastic, close to the Colonnade/Grandview area with easy access to shopping and dining.
The room was spotless and well-maintained, and the whole property had a calming, relaxing atmosphere that made it easy to unwind after a long day. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Birmingham and would happily stay here again.”

“This hotel has been freshly remodeled, clean,with a good price. Very close to I 65. The owners and staff ate very friendly and accommodating. The only issue that I experienced was that you can hear everything happening in the hallway, doors slamming and vacuuming. The other customers weren't rowdy and I didn't have an issue hearing others or tv's, only hallway activities.
Overall, great place for the price”

“The hotel exterior of the hotel was very clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. The lobby was also very clean and welcoming.
It appeared as though the rooms just received a cosmetic upgrade. While the room still looked dated, it was clean.
What impressed me the most was the hotel staff. I don’t know everyone’s name who I encountered, but during my 4 night stay, EVERYONE was pleasant and accommodating. My first night, I could hear the people above me. I’m an extremely light sleeper and very sensitive to noise. I understand that this is a me problem - no one else’s. With that said, I DID ask one of the managers - Carlton - if he had any rooms available on the top floor. I explained that the people above weren’t being disruptive on purpose, I’m just sensitive to noise. He worked some things around and found me an available room on the top floor.
He did so with a pleasant attitude and as though it was his pleasure to help accommodate me.
Every single morning and afternoon - upon leaving and returning - the hotel staff spoke and asked me how I was.
For whatever the rooms may lack in appeal, the staff and location made up for it.
I’d stay again.
I thank Carlton and everyone else who was on staff during my July 13–17 business stay.”

“The hotel is a bit older and could use some upgrades, but for the price it worked well for us. We stayed one night while my son had a soccer tournament about four miles away. The hotel smelled nice, the front desk clerk was friendly, and the pool was open and clean.
Breakfast was good — we had English muffins, scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage, and waffles. Our room was clean and the bedding was fresh.
The only downside was the $109 deposit, which was almost double the cost of the room. This charge wasn’t disclosed when I booked and was only mentioned when I went to pick up my key, which was frustrating.
Overall, aside from the unexpected deposit, it was a comfortable stay, and I would stay here again if I’m ever in the area.”
