“We visited on a week day when no special activities were scheduled. Even then there were presentations by actors in period dress who explained history we didn't know or even thought about. The grounds were immaculate as were the buildings. All the brass doorknobs and lock sets were polished. Being a veteran our admission was free. I was so impressed that, before we left, we stopped back at the reception center and made a donation. American Village is well worth the time to visit. We will be returning when it is our main destination Instead of a side trip.”
