“This book store is a gem! Older & newer books available and they have an online shop. Every book is truly signed by the author or comes with a signed bookplate. Most, if not all, are first editions as well! Some great John Grisham collectors books($100+ depending on the book). If you like collectors editions and sprayed edges, this one is not for you. Not a big book store but great for what it is.”
“My favorite book store of ALL time!!! I go here when I want to find something to read, to gift, to enjoy! They have a phenomenal kids section. Great for every age, everybody! The owners an workers are so thoughtful, and they can point you in the right direction. My favorite part, everyone who works here leaves reviews for their favorite books on the shelves, so you can get recommendations without having to ask! They inspired me to start reading for pleasure again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I bring people from out of town, go with friends, and attend their events! GO TODAY!!!”

“Didn't have enough money to leave a tip, so here's an honest and positive review! Got to stop by for first time in years accidentally making a wrong turn in downtown 😆. I took the chance to stop by and it's still the same amazing quality and service as always! I have to get the Mad Hatter coffee everytime I come and its always amazing. ((Also ty to them for never taking it off the menu. I was really surprised to see it was still available 😆))

“Very large and open location. The store appears clean and very well stocked. They have a very good selection of books and other merchandise as well as a coffee shop. Easy to get to with plenty of parking spaces. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly.”
“It was quite packed, but the selection is great! I mean, it's a Saturday, so what are you going to do. There was also maybe a first date situation going on where a man with his maybe-date was really concerned about if another woman (not present) was walking with the lord. They have Studio Ghibli soundtracks on vinyl, though! And a relatively good bit of philosophy. Finally have a bunch of Niall Williams in stock, too.
The fantasy section could be better.”

“These are not fair reviews! My grandparents own this bookstore and they are getting a bad rap? They started out back in the 60’s with a very classy place. Then the seedy element started coming in and the neighborhood changed. But they had a mortgage and gave the customers what they wanted. I’ll tell you that place saved a lot of marriages, because if a gentleman is touching his flower he isn’t touching someone else’s flower. I lived there in an apartment with them in the back room for most of my life. I even made folding money by cleaning the tears off the floor those sad men wept in the booths. Nana did the books and Pop ran the show. And he is a fine man! Raised me up while my mama was in prison.
And I still live here now that nana is gone and Pop is getting too old to run the show. The city of Birmingham should give our family an award for staying in business for so long AND pumping tax dollars into the economy. So yall just shut it with that talk about this fine business!!!!!!!”
