2029 Valleydale Rd, HooverIf there is such a thing as a perfect dog grooming experience, Kino (Pit/American Eskimo mix) and I experienced it yesterday! Tara and Brandon started with his feet since he tends to be anxious. Not only were they able to clip his nails, but also file them, remove the fur between his paw pads and smooth his paw pads and condition them. He also came out a whole shade lighter ?, we won't discuss how dirty he was. Kino was completely free of shed when we picked him up, they removed all of his shed and excess hair. He also smelled amazing, in no small part due to the toothbrushing! I wasn't super worried because he came highly recommended by my trainer Ashlyn at Night & Day Dog Training as well as Dr Chelsea Meyer at Cahaba Valley Animal Clinic, as that's where they take their personal dogs. A+++

She never recommends unnecessary tests, takes a whole-pet approach, and truly listens. When my senior dog lost significant weight with normal test results, Dr. Stark identified stress-related GI issues and helped her fully recover. Her surgical referral for a chest mass and follow-up guidance were excellent. Thanks to her care, my dog will be a happy 15-year-old soon. Highly recommend Dr. Stark and South Shades Crest Animal Clinic.

The space was clean and we really liked that the cats and dogs are separated so the barking doesn’t stress them further. 5840 Elsie Rd, HooverI would've loved to have shared a photo, but i ate it so fast, taking a photo of it was an after thought. I ordered this for lunch, which was a 17 minute drive from my office. The time I received to pick it up was for 15 minutes. And to my surprise, after a 5 minute drive, I received notification that my order was ready.
When I arrived, the parking was adequate and the people greeted me upon entrance. Even after the 15 minute drive back to my office, the food was delicious. I had the lemon rosemary chicken over rice and the apple havarti side salad. The chicken was moist and tender…and the salad was fresh and the flavors worked together perfectly. My only complaint is the google directions take you the wrong way once you get into the community. But that’s on Google, not on this establishment! I will definitely be back.
Btw, the portion size and price was affordable too!

The cashier, a young lady who had to be in high school, went above and beyond asked us questions and answered ours, all while having a bubbly attitude. The smoothies and juice were good as well. Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue
3432 Old Columbiana Rd, HooverIn March, my fiancé and I decided we wanted to adopt a cat, so we took it upon ourselves to visit several places in the Birmingham area.
We happened to come across Kitty Kat Haven about 10 minutes before closing, and they were kind enough to let us walk through and introduce us to all of the cats. We met the sweetest pair, who were bonded, and thought why not? Let’s adopt them both.
Initially, we were disappointed that we could not take them home right away, especially since we felt ready and prepared. However, after learning the reasons behind their process, I gained a deep respect for it. It is clear that the team truly cares about the well-being and future of their cats. You never know what kind of environment an animal may be going into, and their diligence ensures each cat is placed in a safe and loving home.
We are incredibly grateful for our two little babies and cannot thank Kitty Kat Haven enough for making the experience so positive. They gave us two best friends, and we truly could not be happier.
