She is a great pyrenese/Australian shepard mix and needs grooms with de-shedding. All her previous groomers didnt do that. Rhea took excellant care of her and she looks, feels, and smells amazing!

Tara and Brandon started with his feet since he tends to be anxious. Not only were they able to clip his nails, but also file them, remove the fur between his paw pads and smooth his paw pads and condition them. He also came out a whole shade lighter ?, we won't discuss how dirty he was. Kino was completely free of shed when we picked him up, they removed all of his shed and excess hair. He also smelled amazing, in no small part due to the toothbrushing! I wasn't super worried because he came highly recommended by my trainer Ashlyn at Night & Day Dog Training as well as Dr Chelsea Meyer at Cahaba Valley Animal Clinic, as that's where they take their personal dogs. A+++

My wife brought our 125-pound Mastiff in for his first visit, and anyone with a giant breed knows that a vet appointment can be quite the challenge. From the moment she arrived, the entire process was smooth and efficient. We were seen quickly, and every member of the staff was welcoming and professional.
Dr. Sam was outstanding. He was genuine, compassionate, incredibly thorough, and completely transparent throughout the entire appointment. He took the time to carefully explain everything, answered every question, and made it clear that he truly cared about our dog’s health and well-being rather than rushing us through the visit.
The pricing was another pleasant surprise. Everything was explained upfront with no hidden costs, and despite our dog needing X-rays, the total was far more affordable than we expected and significantly less than what we’ve paid at other veterinary clinics.
The level of care, attention to detail, honesty, and professionalism was exceptional. We’ve found our veterinarian, and we won’t be taking our dog anywhere else. I highly recommend Dr. Sam and his team to anyone looking for a veterinary clinic that genuinely puts both pets and their owners first.

She never recommends unnecessary tests, takes a whole-pet approach, and truly listens. When my senior dog lost significant weight with normal test results, Dr. Stark identified stress-related GI issues and helped her fully recover. Her surgical referral for a chest mass and follow-up guidance were excellent. Thanks to her care, my dog will be a happy 15-year-old soon. Highly recommend Dr. Stark and South Shades Crest Animal Clinic.

Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue
3432 Old Columbiana Rd, HooverIn March, my fiancé and I decided we wanted to adopt a cat, so we took it upon ourselves to visit several places in the Birmingham area.
We happened to come across Kitty Kat Haven about 10 minutes before closing, and they were kind enough to let us walk through and introduce us to all of the cats. We met the sweetest pair, who were bonded, and thought why not? Let’s adopt them both.
Initially, we were disappointed that we could not take them home right away, especially since we felt ready and prepared. However, after learning the reasons behind their process, I gained a deep respect for it. It is clear that the team truly cares about the well-being and future of their cats. You never know what kind of environment an animal may be going into, and their diligence ensures each cat is placed in a safe and loving home.
We are incredibly grateful for our two little babies and cannot thank Kitty Kat Haven enough for making the experience so positive. They gave us two best friends, and we truly could not be happier.
