“Jared did a fabulous job trying to help get our vehicle situation taken care of. We had originally reserved a rental at the Decatur Hertz, and they oversold their inventory and couldn't guarantee our vehicle would be there in the morning. I had to cancel that reservation and then cross my fingers that Madison would help us. I called, spoke with Jared and he promised he'd have a vehicle for us in the morning. The vehicle that was returned (that we were supposed to have) had been smoked in and was gross, so Jared went to the airport to pick up another vehicle for us. He remembered we had small kids and didn't want us to be in a nasty vehicle. I was thankful for this attention to detail and enough care to do something about it and not take the "easy way" out of the situation. We had to extend the rental an additional day, and he took care of that for us as well.”

“I wanted my cart customized....they did a fantastic job.....cost was exactly as the estimate....would highly recommend them......Harry is very honest and did everything he promised....”
“Not enough people working for the amount of customers that were waiting to check in and out. We like the car we rented, it wasn't cleaned though.
When we lowered the seats to put our suitcases in the back, found an old premade salad bowl from a deli with dressing still in the bottom of it. I wonder why the car had a funky lemon smell, I thought it was the cleaner they used; but it was the lemon zing dressing fermented in the bottom of the bowl.
We febrezed the hell out of it and let the windows down for a few hours before we left to get the smell out.”
“I was in and out quickly. I don't remember the gentleman's name who helped me but he was very helpful, informative, and friendly. Plus I was upgraded bc they didn't have the car I reserved. Fast, friendly , professional! Also I left my fanny pack in the car when I returned the car, and I was able to call the next morning and get it back. So I'll also add that they are trustworthy. Front desk was very helpful and unlike previous reviews I received a receipt first thing the following morning after the returning the vehicle at nearly midnight. Whatever changes were implemented since the bad reviews have been very effective.”
“The Huntsville AVIS center is by far the best in the business. I travel weekly and often to Huntsville and they are simply too notch. Always friendly and easy to navigate. On my last trip I left my jacket in the car, realized it and within minutes headed back to find they had already taken the car for cleaning. The Manager, Bill heard my story, immediately drove off and was back within minutes with my lost jacket. Simply superb customer service. Thank you to the entire team at the Huntsville Airport AVIS office. A class operation.”

“I had a positive experience here. It seems like they are paying attention to some of the feedback on here.
I will say they are small enough that the car class you rent is going to be the car class you get regardless of your Hertz status.
There's obviously no ultimate choice lot. BHM has no UC lot either, but usually you will get an upgrade there by default with PC status. Just know that going in.
The main thing I was worried about based on the reviews here is there not being anyone there to receive my car upon return or getting charged for days after I returned the car. However, my return was pretty typical I drove in and someone walked over and took the keys and verified the gas tank was full. They asked if there were any issues with the car etc. I got a receipt emailed to me the same day and it was within about ~$3 of what it showed when I booked online which is a pretty typical adjustment anywhere for an airport rental.
Some general feedback on the HSV airport. I get it's small, but the TSA line....come on man. They had one guy checking boarding passes for the tsa precheck line and the regular line, and it took forever. When you can go through TSA quicker in places like DCA faster than HSV, that's a little sus.
Overall, if I have to use this airport again, I wouldn't hesitate to use Hertz.”
