“We have gone to FATS for decades and have always been happy with their expert car mechanical evaluations, intergrity, breath of knowledge, expertise and customer service. On our last visit, we came to have brake pads replaced that another shop had said needed replacement, they found them to be fine. They did an excellent evaluation of rear noise, checking it carefully. We take all of our foreign and domestic cars and trust their good work! Would like to add a 6th star! Highly recommend!”

Back in 2007, I purchased a 2005 Nissan Titan from a Nissan dealership. I owned that truck until November 2025 — nearly 20 years. ??
That truck took care of me because Nissan’s service departments took care of it. Every time I brought it in, they treated me right, fixed things correctly the first time, and kept that truck running strong for two decades. ?✅
When I finally traded it in, the truck had around 180,000 miles and was only a two-wheel drive model, yet I still received over $3,000 trade-in value ? because the vehicle was well maintained, the interior was solid, and the motor was sound.
? Vehicles are investments.
Take care of them, and they’ll take care of you. ?
This time around, I decided to try something different and purchased a used Dodge Laramie 1500 Hemi ?? from another dealership. I also purchased a $5,500 extended warranty believing I’d receive quality service and support.
Unfortunately, that experience became one of the most stressful vehicle situations I’ve ever dealt with. ?
? The truck spent more time in their possession than in my driveway during the first four months.
? I paid nearly $2,700 in rental car fees.
? Communication was poor.
⏳ Delays were constant.
?♂️ I felt ignored instead of taken care of.
Eventually, after repeated issues and frustration, they finally returned the truck after repairing the sunroof — only to lock the key fob inside the vehicle upon delivery. ???
That was the moment I realized:
❌ I could not trust that service department long term.
Later, I learned I could have transferred the warranty to another dealership or repair facility. Had I known that from the beginning, I would have transferred it directly to Nissan and continued working with people I already trusted. ?
Instead, I canceled the warranty, purchased a different DOWC coverage plan, and returned to using a reputable local repair shop I’ve trusted for years. ⭐?
? Lesson learned:
Why leave the people who have always taken care of you?
At the end of the life of this truck, I plan on returning to Nissan, purchasing another Nissan Titan — preferably a 4x4 this time ?❄️?️ — and going back to the service department that earned my trust for nearly 20 years.
