Doodle Dogs
841 1 Ave NE, CalgaryI can’t say enough good things about this shop and Meghan in particular. A few weeks ago, she took so much time to talk with me in depth about raw feeding options, answering every question thoroughly and thoughtfully — I never felt rushed. I have not had a nutrition conversation like this before at any other pet store, or with my vet for that matter.
Based on her recommendations, I switched my dog Pablo to K9 Choice, and the results have been incredible. He’s lost the 2 lbs he gained from kibble over the past year, has noticeably less eye discharge, and is absolutely obsessed with his food (he literally spends 20 minutes licking his bowl clean — very on-brand dachshund behavior ?).
But the biggest change really hit me tonight: Pablo started playing with his toys again. I had assumed he was just slowing down with age, but he spent a solid 30 minutes happily squeaking and playing like he used to — something he hasn’t done in a long time. It honestly made my heart so happy.
Thank you, Meghan, for such a well-rounded, informative, and caring conversation. Your guidance truly helped Pablo feel better, and I’m so grateful. Highly recommend this store to anyone looking for knowledgeable and genuinely supportive pet nutrition advice. Also it’s so wonderful to support local!

Animal Clinic
820 10 St SW #1, CalgaryOne of the last independently owned veterinary clinics in Calgary. When you walk in you feel like you’re meeting with friends - from the front desk to the Vet Tech to the doctors. Dr. Bennett has worked with me through some mysterious issues with my wire Fox terrier - with kindness and respect. Three years later my pup is doing great! She looks forward to her checkups… not kidding!!

Canine Companion Clinic
1400 12 Ave SW, CalgaryThis review is for Dr. Stacy. When we moved away from Calgary, we were worried we couldnt find another good doctor for our boy Loki like Dr. Stacy in the new city. She was so patient and gentle with Loki since we first brought him in when he was a few months old. Dr. stacy would sit on the ground while checking on Loki. She always gave the best advice and provided useful tips to new dog parents like us. Loki now is under good care of new doctor in the new place, but we forever appreciate Dr. Stacy and her team for the kindness and care they gave to Loki.

Edgemont Veterinary Clinic
8210 Edgebrook Dr NW #105, CalgaryExcellent care for both our dog and cat from the team at Edgemont. Our dog is so excited to come here that we can barely contain her when we do. Even our cat who has a history of, shall we say, extreme violence when being placed on the exam table seemed to be comfortable with her experience here.
Prices are comparable to other city clinics, but I find that they are not as eager to push unnecessary services compared to some of the franchised alternatives.

Centre Street Veterinary Clinic
6219 Centre St N #15, CalgaryMy cat has diabetes, I had been seeing another vet for him and his condition. I was not feeling confident about the support my cat was getting and for his and my benefit I decided to get a second opinion. I’m glad I did. I’m feeling more confident for my cat again, Dr. Mahsa, seems to recognize what may be needed and possible options to ensure my boy is getting what he needs to maintain his diabetes and to stay with me given his health and it’s limitations with diabetes. He’s only 12 and I don’t want to lose him, before I was feeling I might. Now I feel hopeful again.
I have now taken one of my other cats to Centre Street. She's very old, 19 this year. I worry as she ages that she still has a quality of life and that I keep her as healthy as possible. Planning and helping was given to do so. It was reassuring for me again, the attentiveness from Dr. Mahsa but also the other doctor who called the next day after the tests, to give me the information. My cats are well taken care of now, and has made a difference.

Canyon Meadows Veterinary Clinic
1057 Canyon Meadows Dr SW, CalgaryWe are so grateful for the kind and compassionate care our little chihuahua, Dulcie, received from Dr. Leboldus and her team at The Canyon Meadows Veterinary Clinic.
Each time we visited for Dulcie’ s regular mani/pedis to trim her claws the staff were genuinely happy to see our little dog. Their care and affection for her was very obvious.
As Dulcie experienced more and more medical issues Dr Leboldus worked closely with us to make sure we gave her the best possible quality of life. She was excellent at explaining the variety of options available for treating Dulcie. She was very good at discussing the cost of treatment options and was so considerate of us as we made our decisions and always supported the decisions we made.
Last month, when the time came to euthanize Dulcie, the whole clinic team did a wonderful job creating a peaceful last sleep for our pup and gave us both the space and support we needed during this sad time.
We cannot recommend highly enough the whole team at Canyon Meadows Clinic.

Muttley Crue Organics
620 46 Ave NE, Calgary100% recommend Muttley Crue! Having never used a pet boarding service before in Calgary, we chose Muttley Crüe due to the many positive reviews and also their 24/7 camera. The requirement to do at least 3 daycare boarding days at the start shows how serious they are to ensure your dog is a good fit for the place and that your dog will be familiar with the place by the time they board. The team took great care of our Maverick while we were away and the daily pictures and pupdate reports were a true highlight, making being away from our boy a little easier. The team is knowledgeable and knows how to read each dog and cater to their needs. I would not hesitate to bring Maverick here for the next time we need Muttley Crue’s services!

The Petropolitan
131 9 Ave SW #101, CalgaryI discovered Petropolitan because I followed Val - the only groomer I would trust to do a “comfort groom” for our senior standard poodle. I knew she would care for him like her own and give him all the breaks and all the love he needed. I highly recommend Val and I was also impressed with the facilities at the Petropolitan. I was concerned with the downtown parking for dropoff and pickup but the loading zones out front made it stress-free.

Metropawlitan Dog Training Inc.
436 16 Ave NE, CalgaryWe've done several classes with Suzzane with our rescue shepherd mix, which started displaying problematic behaviors at approx. 3 months old. Suzzane provided the necessary tools to work with and correct these behaviors.
Suzzane's witty, professional and knowlegeable teaching has made it an easy choice to sign up for subsequent courses as she teaches on a dog-by-dog basis. We highly recommend this trainer, particularly where you have a pushy and/or reactive pup.

Jimmy’s A&A
1401 20 Ave NW, CalgaryI used to LOVE this place and would go at least a few times a month for years. But it has been a number of years since we've been as we moved way down south. We had to opportunity to stop there yesterday and my hubs got a large chicken shawarma, some olives, a medium hummus and tzatziki and I got a small chicken shawarma box. The total price was just over $80. Relative to how the food used to be, it was terrible. The main problem was the chicken (which looked awesome). It was clearly not cleaned well, as we both had bits of bone and gristle in it and I had to spit out several mouthfuls. I was appalled. I know that it can't have been just ours, as the chicken comes off a big spit which is why I'm so shocked to see such great reviews currently. The sizes are very generous (as they should be, reflecting on the cost) and the place runs like a machine. This experience made me very sad as I still recall the days when Jimmy would be in the shop, with his electrifying personality, lighting up the crowds and serving awesome food. Yesterday was a sad day.

4455 110 Ave SE, CalgaryIntended to do this some time ago, better late than never. I adopted -this- silly hairball March 2025. He is my second bunny, but my first son. We started out slow and gently, and in time Sugar has made himself very comfortable! He loves his fox plush, raspberries and personal space very much, doesn't mind some love between his ears every so often, but shys away from the brush which we are still working on! His favorite lounge spot is my swivel chair which I have been forced to surrender to him. We call it his throne! A massive thank you to CHS for giving important information and care advice during the entire process, and even more so for letting my socially awkward self adopt this anxious king. I've learned a lot in the past ten months about rabbit care, and I can't wait to help another bunbun in need from here specifically when I have a bigger place!!
