Kibbles & Biscuits
15511 118 Ave NW, EdmontonThe staff are really knowledgeable here and since it's a small business, the staff seem to really care. We went in needing some advice since our cat needed moving onto some new cat food and the staff did a great job of listening to our requirements about ingredients, texture and price in order to give a series of recommendations.
I generally find they undercut other big name stores like Homes Alive and PetSmart which is surprising since this is an independently owned store.

Fuzzy Furballs Grooming
15235 94 St, EdmontonMy 8-month-old puppy is super anxious and fearful around new people and places. We tried once at a big chain groomer and they had to turn us away because he was too stressed and reactive to safely groom. I was so worried we’d never find someone who could handle him.
Then we booked with Jonna, and it was night and day. She was incredibly calm and patient from the start, letting him warm up at his own pace, and speaking to him so gently. She took breaks whenever he seemed overwhelmed and somehow still managed to give him a full bath, perfect haircut, nail trim, and ear cleaning.
Jonna clearly has a special gift with nervous dogs. Thank you, Jonna – you’re amazing! ?❤️

The Pampered Puppy
15954 109 Ave NW, EdmontonAt two years old we decided to have our Golden Retriever Sam’s first professional grooming. The Company Owner Brian recommended Mackenzie to do the job. Sam is somewhat spoiled and at times can be quite a handful so we were very nervous about getting the work done.
We need not have worried as everything went far better than we could have hoped. Not socialized to people, environment or animals Sam could have had big problems.
Mackenzie was terrific with her. He said that Sam considering it was her first grooming was actually pretty manageable and more importantly was respectful of the other dogs.
After four and a half hours she was done. She looks fantastic like her parents both show dogs. In future we will get her done by Mackenzie twice a year spring and fall.

Pet Care

Companion Veterinary Clinic
Blackburn Dr W Southwest #8, EdmontonMy partner and I have been bringing both of our cats to this vet for a few years now, and we cannot recommend this clinic, Dr.Benoit, and the staff enough. They take great care in being a fear free place, and have gone the extra mile with our one cat who needed a kidney stone removed at the age of two. All of Dr.B’s recommendations are well thought out, (from feliway to raw food - even if our cats were not on board with the raw food diet), and I enjoy how if he is not familiar with a food type, he will do research. He is very thorough throughout examinations, very knowledgeable, and is fantastic at communicating. Love bringing our cats here - you have lifetime clients!

Ellerslie Pet Hospital
2943 Ellwood Dr SW, EdmontonI had a small emergency with both my dogs last week and they let me bring them in with only a couple hours notice. The wait was short and the vet was absolutely wonderful. He examined both dogs, ran a quick blood test for my older boy and got them meds and sent us on our way. Both dogs are doing much better now thanks to this vet ? And they even called today to see how the dogs are feeling. This vet clinc actually cares! 5 stars in my books!

Pet Sitting & Training

Naughty Boyz Dog Training Inc.
7904 104 St NW, EdmontonEven before the first session started Govind set up steps to meet our reactive dog that made sense for our home and yard. Making their interaction smooth from the start. Through all the sessions he did a great job explaining what he was doing and why, while still paying attention to our dogs responses. He kept an amazing balance of making sure our dog was taking the steps they needed, while explaining why certain situations would need to be worked up to.
There wasn't a single session that felt like we were rushed in time. In fact, he made sure we could ask any questions we had about our dog.
We've gained a lot of tools to continue to help our dog and would gladly work with them again if needed or for any future dogs we may have.
If you are struggling Govind is the solution trust us!

The Second Pup
7030 2 Ave SW, EdmontonI’m so thankful for The Second Pup!! My dog Oakley can have some separation anxiety but he barely looks back when we arrive because he’s so excited to play. As soon as we turn onto the road he starts whimpering from excitement. All the staff are amazing, care a LOT, and are very patient (he can get extremely jumpy and excited). I love the picture updates on Facebook! You can see from the pic attached that he’s truly thrilled to be there. As well as the aftermath of a LONG nap when he gets home!!

Posh Pooch Hotel and Daycare
9402 31 Ave NW, EdmontonWe LOVE Posh Pooch! We've now used 3 daycares but this one has become home. It is super affordable!!!! (I really hope the prices don't go up since I said that).
But most importantly my dog loves it there. There is always tons of pups and toys for him to play with. He loves there grass covered slides too. His socialization has super improved being there and so have certain puppy behaviors (I. E the hump). The staff love him like one of there own and he loves them back!
As a owner it's great having so many services in one place. I can sneak him a bath (again great price) or give him other enrichment add ons when needed. I also like that's the offer 'grass time' to so he joints aren't on hard floors all day. I also love going to Facebook to see him mid day. He also recently had surgery and he loves the red light there. The Only thing I'd change is them being open till 8 or 9. I live south but work downtown and sometimes I'd be nice to hang around instead of rushing south but that's me not them! So essentially, we love Posh Pooch

Diamond in the Ruff Inc.
15927 105 Ave NW, EdmontonSo happy with Diamond in the Ruff!
She helped us tremendously with our dog.
Not only did Coleen help teach us about behaviour, she made it quick to learn clicker training for our dogs reactivity and basic obedience. Combining positive reinforcement with veterinary prescription has changed our lives.
She also helped us with our dogs separation anxiety. I had never had her calmly lay in her kennel and not bark when I left for the day.
Highly recommend Diamond in the Ruff!!

See Spot Run Doggie Daycare & Training Inc
7715 69 St NW, EdmontonMy (now senior) dog has been going to See Spot Run for quite some time, and when I got my young fella, he joined the pack as well.
For my young guy, daycare was a wonderful part of learning appropriate social skills in a safe setting, figuring out how to be away from home and away from me, and enjoying being with a variety of dogs. His time at daycare helped immensely with housebreaking and crate training.
For my senior dog, she gets a couple days a week of low-key socializing to break up the monotony of the work (for me) week.
Overall, play is well supervised and dogs are group according to size, play style, energy, etc. Problems are nipped in the bud and managed well by professionals with years of experience in dog behavior and training.
Whether or not your dog attends daycare, there are also classes available, including basic obedience/life skills, agility at all levels, and scent detection. I have done pretty much all of them at one time or another and very much enjoyed the classes.
I appreciate knowing my dogs and I are in good hands here.

In the summer they have an outdoor area with games and sometime food trucks are around. They have a small selection of card games and board games inside. Saving Animals From Euthanasia Team Edmonton Society (SAFE TEAM)
4610 97 St NW, EdmontonI adopted two cats in December 2017 and didn't think to do a review at that time. Today I read a review that bothered me and now I will provide an honest review of dealing with SAFE Team. We have a wonderful organization to save animals that many people feel are "disposable". It was wonderful dealing with them and I provided an update as per my contract with them. We still have our beautiful babies. In response to Reanne Cafaro's negative review with all her troubles with a roommate and thus laying the blame on SAFE Team for removing the bonded pair of cats --- I say good for SAFE Team. For once someone is looking out for the cats and making sure they are safe and cared for. Our animals don't have a voice and I'm happy that SAFE Team did not tolerate any excuses and removed the cats. All those troubles are on you (Reanne Cafaro) and you don't visit those on either the cats you adopted or SAFE Team. I find it hard to believe that after adopting those cats as you say "barely a month in" that you had not even one thought that your roommate was problematic. You should have brought the cats back to SAFE Team explaining what happened and once you cleaned up your act, SAFE Team would have housed the cats until you could pick them up and bring them back to a better environment. SAFE Team has the ability to house your cats for a temporary timeline, they have a lot of resources. But you didn't do that. It's easier for you to blame everyone else except yourself. I will commend you on one thing -- that you did not allow your roommate to take one of the cats.

Edmonton Humane Society
13620 163 St NW, EdmontonI wanted to pass along my gratitude to both trainers at the puppy pop in event at EHS. They were incredibly kind and caring with me and my puppy. I told one of the trainers I was anxious to be there and she was very reassuring and compassionate and checked on me throughout the class. I also had a great talk about what to do/not to do to ensure my anxiety doesn’t pass onto my pup. Overall, I’m really happy I went and she enjoyed it quite a lot. We also attend classes every Sunday with a different trainer and that’s also been a positive experience for both of us.
As a new dog mom, it’s places like EHS that are incredibly valuable to have in our community. The resources, professionals and information has been key for us. Thank you!!
