“This shop is great! I'd put 7 stars on it if I could. If you want your money's worth take your engine here. First time classic truck restoration project and I needed an engine rebuilt. I had everything else on the truck to rebuild, so I was looking for someone to take the engine off my hands. I stopped by the shop; they gave me a tour and explained their process. I originally brought in a 1979 400M from a junkyard truck. They cleaned it up and found the engine was burnt and couldn't be rebuilt. They didn't charge me a cent extra for scraping the engine. I then brought in a 1996 351w. They taught me about the rebuild options without pushing me towards anything specific. They rebuilt the long block and painted it my favorite color. Don't be afraid to use their warranty. I needed some bolts resealed. I drove the truck in, and the team fixed it up fast with no nonsense, only professionalism. I now have over 250 miles on the engine and its running great.”

“I brought my car in because the thermostat was leaking coolant. They replaced the thermostat and I picked it up, but I still noticed a drip underneath the car. I took it back the same week and they checked it and told me it was fine. Ten days later it was still leaking, so I returned again. This time they found a cracked hose that also needed to be replaced. The next day I noticed the coolant level was low again—they hadn’t topped it off after the repair—so I had to bring it back once more just for that.
It definitely wasn’t a smooth, one-and-done experience, and it took four visits total to get everything 100 % resolved.
That said, I’m happily leaving 5 stars, and here’s why: I spoke with the owner personally several times through all of this. It’s very clear he genuinely cares about his customers and wants everything done right. You learn a lot more about a shop when something goes wrong than when everything is perfect, and he and his team handled the hiccups professionally and without making me feel like a bother.
He recently bought the business and is actively working to improve it—he’s honest about that and you can tell he’s proud of the place and wants it to be the best it can be. In an industry where it’s hard to find someone you can truly trust, that honesty and attitude mean everything to me.
The work was done correctly in the end, the pricing was good, and everyone I dealt with was friendly and respectful. Finding a trustworthy mechanic is worth its weight in gold these days, so I have zero hesitation recommending this shop. I’ll absolutely be back for any future service or repairs. Great owner, great team—glad I found them!”

I spoke with Shahe on the phone when making my appointment, and he took the extra time to ask questions about the car history, and showed a genuine interest in making sure that I got a good deal and drove away with a vehicle I could trust. Once in Phoenix, we had an excellent experience at the shop. “I had to make a review, because I think these guys are just amazing! I’ve had issues with my leaf springs for over 2 years. I’ve had at least 8 different shops, from San Diego to Toronto Canada ..and every shop in between try to fix a clunk and to try to prevent my bushings from sliding side to side! Matt took one listen and look…and freakin fixed it!! I’ve been driving all over Baja for the last 2 months and still silent! I promise you this shit has kept me up at nights ! I’ve been sleeping like a baby since my visit! I live in Canada but I will drive to Phoenix every time to have my suspension serviced!

“This guy is the guru of Carburetors. I took him a Holley 4 barrel carburetor to be rebuilt. It took him about a week and a half to get to it. It was more than worth the wait. I put the carb on my 1967 Corvette and hooked everything up. it started up so quickly that it surprised me. It ran flawlessly and smoothly. No adjusting mixture , idle or float levels. Perfect right at the get go. He not only rebuilds these carbs flawlessly but puts them on a test engine and dials them in perfectly. I highly recommend Rod's to anyone who needs their carburetor rebuilt. A very satisfying and gratifying experience.”
