“Best bike repair shop I had to deal with. The owner is actually passionate and will tackle repair projects other places have no clue or would not bother. Right sized local shop so you pay for actual work done and nothing else which means great competitive prices. I can do most repairs myself but I prefer using a local bike shop like this due to the above.”

He's been taken advantage of plenty of times when in need of flat tire/chain/ wobbly rims, etc.Sun Cyclery has consistently been kind, honest, and completely devoted to handling his needs with empathy and dedication. We are humbled by their unwavering support!”

“In like their pricing and service in regards to changing out tubes. I had "dropped" in a day before Thanksgiving and they were gracious enough to change out my pierced tube/flattened tire, so I could get back on the road. Usually they require appointment but they hooked me up on the spot. Gracias!”

“Friendly. Very helpful. The gentleman there helped me with my tires and gave me some advice on my bike. He didn't try to sale me anything or try and do more than needed. I am very grateful. Thank you”

“This place also sells electric Ebikes. They are the lowest priced in the state. They also service them which is very rare, you can get batteries replaced and tired fix right there.”

“Had a very brief interaction here at the shop but I can't give it anything shy of 5 stars. I've been in a tight spot the last few weeks and have had to use my Bicycle a lot more lately. As I was doing some photography uptown, my back tire went flat. Landis was just around the corner so I walked my bike to the shop. Making it there with an hour to spare. I was welcomed by Gage who helped me diagnose the issue. as we agreed and concluded it was in need of a new tube, and not a patch, I would have to wait to do as I didn't have the funds to get one. I told Gage that I was tight on funds and wouldn't be able to get the tube purchased today but would be back once I got paid. Without a blink he handed it to me. "Here you go bud, it''s on me. we've all been there, just go get her back on the road, this one is on me." Now i'm not one to take advantage or play lie to get a discount. I think he saw I was genuine and he was discrete and didn't make me feel like a broke pos (which I am atm). I can't speak for the tempe location but I can confidently say that any issues I have with my GT moving forward will be done at this Location. Gage was sincere and extremely helpful. Cheers mate! Appreciate the kind gesture! they've earned my business from here on out!”

“My neighbor Mr. G is starting his first jobs. Earning what I think is pretty good money. Got first jobs im the USA? what do you do? Spend Money! Mr. G's first desire? He blew one payday 100% taking his friends on a bowling? Eating? Game playing spree? I'm not sure. This time he wanted a bike. Wheels. Transportation. Independence. For weeks he's talked about when he gets paid and his new bike. Would I help him pick it up? We scoped out a nearby bike shop. He switched to a pawn shop on his bus route home. Today was Thursday Sit and Chat, 2:30-4 pm Corner on the Market. He loves it because people enjoy him. Plus food and Independence! On the journey home was Grey Matter Bike Shop. We stopped to investigate. You donate a bike, they refurb it. Proceeds from used bike sales are donated to Barrow Neurologic Hospital. The owner's son died from brain cancer. Barrow treated him. The owner is paying back by healing old bicycles and donating the profit.. They also have a full showroom of fine electric and pedal powered bicycles at standard pricing. Plus excellent repair and service staff. Mr. G wanted a bike with a wide, comfortable seat. Sit and Chat Dave advised him to pick a bike short enough to not injure his groin areas when putting both feet on the pavement. We found a One Speed coaster brake cruiser, semi-fat tires. Simple to ride and repair. Wide, supportive seat. Built for comfort. Nearly new, brand new rear tire. $125.00. We pick it up tomorrow ar 10 am.”

“I love riding my bike and since I'm not in a place where bike parts are readily accessible I was glad to find it so close. The owner (not sure if he is Bob). Was super nice I have come to terms with my inadequate choice of car and I realized I don't really NEED ONE? NOT REALLY. ?SO it's Payday and I'm riding an old beach cruiser. That needed a little spruced up. I got some better tires, and hand grips. I had already found a basket and a rack on the back. He didn't have the little bell I wanted in stock but while I was scratching a ticket he went and took the bell I want off of another bike and gave it to me for free! That gave it sentimental value too. Everytime I ring I'll think of Bob and his kindness. LOL. BUT He really overcharged me FOR REAL! 30 bucks for some used tires? I honestly could have gotten them all for 10 bucks hand grips and all! but I got the feeling Bob's Cycle might not be doing too well. Which is awful the business has been there for more than 50 years he showed me old pictures and gave a little history. He was very very pleasant and easily engaged In conversation then offered to let me scratch my lotto tickets in the air conditioning which I took him up on.. the sun in Phoenix acts like he's mad or something. One downfall in Not owning a vehicle, AIR CONDITIONER.I would encourage everyone who rides keep Bob in mind when you need to replace a tube or maybe you want to upgrade your seat. He Is a business man and probably will try to get more money out of you BUT... Walmart wouldn't ever notice you were there but Bob will greet you with a smile and Gratitude. Offer suggestions and give his expert opinion maybe teach you how to change your gear shift on that mountain bike you tossed in the garage. !These Small businesses are what brings the community together. They each have their own little charm. Neighborhoods are supposed to have their own vibe or energy and develop a personal character and quirkiness to a certain place, location. There is only One Central Avenue in south Phoenix, AZ Lots of people use bikez and with the prices at the pumps I believe more will convert. Let's keep Bob Biking! Buy you Bicycle accessories from here.”
