DoubleTree by Hilton Phoenix North is an older property that is clean and well-maintained, with nice staff. The rooms are comfortable but dated, with some guests finding the mattresses extremely firm. The hotel was undergoing updates during some stays. Several significant issues were noted: heaters sometimes did not work, with no on-site maintenance available at times, and guests had to request permission to use them. There are no microwaves in the rooms. The swimming pool was completely out of order and dug up. There is no complimentary breakfast or free coffee in the lobby, only paid options. The on-site restaurant service was slow and the food was average. The location is great, but the area has a noticeable homeless presence, though security actively manages it. Some rooms may have a musty scent.
