The Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown is a historic, art deco-style hotel located in the heart of downtown Phoenix, near the convention center. Its grand lobby and cozy sitting areas create a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel offers clean, spacious rooms that are recently updated, with comfortable beds and a fresh, odor-free environment. The staff are generally friendly and accommodating, especially notable during check-out when extra time was provided. One of the hotel’s highlights is its excellent valet parking service, which is efficient and professional, though parking options are limited. The hotel does not have an attached parking lot, so guests must rely on nearby paid parking structures or valet, both of which can be expensive. The entrance can be somewhat hard to find, and there have been occasional issues like door lock malfunctions. Dining options include a breakfast that is pleasant but pricey, with a notable cinnamon roll pancake breakfast. The rooftop bar offers a nice spot to relax in the evenings; however, it opens late and has limited views due to surrounding taller buildings. The drinks are basic and lack the creative flair found at nearby local bars. For breakfast, a farm-to-table spot nearby offers better quality and value. While the hotel's location is walkable to many attractions, restaurants, and public transit, the neighborhood has a visible presence of homeless individuals, which can make walking outside uncomfortable at times. Overall, the hotel is a solid choice if the rate is reasonable, offering a comfortable stay in a beautiful building, though some amenities and the surrounding area may impact the experience.
This place would rate higher if there was a lobby bar open for brunch. Had to go next door to get a Bloody Mary .

It was a last minute decision and we were not disappointed. The lobby is clean and very pretty. The rooms were a cut above. There is a rooftop bar that was pricey but the appetizer we had was really good.

Nice downtown hotel, breakfast was expensive and not worth the price, the rest was quite ok.
