“I had been reading about The Poisoned Pen bookstore for years...watching their author interviews and everything else.
I was able to actually go to the Poisoned Pen last year in April to see Bob Dugoni speak about his new book at the time. Just loved it. Patrick and Barbara couldn't have been nicer. I get all of my book news on their website.

Kidstop was a great choice! They have their toys and books organized by age level. It was fun browsing through the different toy/book options for each age level. Wished I were a kid again!
You won't find bicycles, baseball gloves, or lots of skate board options...like at a Target/Walmart. What you will find are (mostly) girls and boys toys/books that encourage creativity, exploration, thinking, and provide wonder...some are 'old' favorites but many are cutting edge ,as well as some travel versions.
They also complimentary gift wrapped our birthday purchases! Two thumbs up!”

“If you are walking on campus you will see this book store. BEWARE. Arty the Artichoke sometimes hangs around here. He can get into moods some times. One time there was this student in there wearing a Mesa Community College shirt because she was taking classes at both campuses and just needed a book for a class at MCC. Arty goes up to her and says "why! is my school not good enough for you?" He then said that no one was aloud to sell her the book unless she bought a Scottsdale Community College t-shirt, went to the bathroom and changed, then went up to the counter to buy it. She left the place in tears.”

“I was on a mission to come and check out Alcuin Books. The moment I walked in I felt an emence energy of treasured knowledge. I was immediately struck with the variety of classics. Richard Murian the store owner, had this unbelievable well preserved collection of the "House of Commons". I also was impressed with their collection of biology, philosophy and religious books as well. I will most certainly be going back. I could spend days in there!
