“Parking is good. One drive enters Wallace road by a school. I avoid that access when school is letting out. Service and selection is good. I like that Fairway Markets have a foreign foods section and a small section for M&M meat shop products.”

“The Market Garden is the closest thing to Fortnum & Mason in the Country! Like Stanley Kubrick's film 'Barry Lyndon,' each room is similarly staged like a portrait painting for foodies. Zebra, Rainbow ribbon, all sorts of pasta, another room dedicated for chocolate and sweets lovers, the non-alcoholic wine cellar, the soap and scented products room complete with a lipstick red pedestal sink for cleansing between sampling, the cheese and deli section, the view into the garden where many products are grown, the chandeliers, the displays especially highlight holiday occasions throughout the year are all epic. Rad Relish was a hit as well as the Chocolate ginger cookies, pizza with béchamel sauce, pickled lemon, zucchini and onion was light and delicious. So many international, national and local goods available including detergents. Great resource for gift giving.810 Catherines Street, near Tyee Road. Limited street and store lot parking available. Come in and get lost!”

“Awesome collection of prepared meals. Price is good, and they do deliver as well. The delivery can be done by using online apps like Doordash or instacart. We have been using them frequently and never had any issues, and food quality is great.”

“Amazing place to grab your essentials! Love their self grinding peanut butter!! So smooth and delicious. So much better reusing my own jars than buying new jars that will end up going in the trash”

“Kudos for making grocery shopping an enjoyable experience. A visit to Victoria requires a stop here to pick up some of my favorite items including their green sauce and many goodies from their meat department. There always seems to be new products to try, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Love this place!”

“Prices have gone up dramatically, and selection of jam is now limited to American brands. I see there is a plain clothes security guard watching the check out counters.”

“The samosas taste was very good-almost best in Victoria.Price is reasonable for other Indian stuff. The customer service was very good. Thank you for your service.”

“One of the best grocery stores on the Island. Nice fresh bread and a great meat department. It's easy to get to from the Island Highway and the parking lot is well laid out.”

“Terrible parking lot. Incredibly helpful, friendly, and efficient staff. Prices were not out of line w majpr chains; got on par over the counter cold meds at regular, TP on sale cheap. 10/10 would go again, but NOT at 230pm (parking lot, not store)”

“Having tried other meal kits, we are thrilled with Local Urban Bites. The recipes are unique, the food choices are extensive with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. The packaging and re-useable bags and ice packs make for easy and earth-friendly practice. We love the extra add-ons that are possible to order. Great personal service. We had to alter our frequency and they accommodated beautifully. AND they use local suppliers!”

“Consistently well stocked and reasonably priced. Terrible parking lot. Great staff. On occasion find merchandise that is past it's "Best Before" date. When I make staff aware of this they promptly remove it from the shelves.”

“I highly recommend SPUD for your grocery delivery. We chose SPUD because they value people over profit and they provide a wonderful customer service. The products are local, fresh, organic and they partner with great local bakeries for extra treats! The meats are well packaged with dry ice keeping them cold until we get home to open our delivery. They provide bins and they use temperature control bags for produce and they re-use it ALL. Give them a try, we especially like the subscription produce boxes.”

“Shop here almost daily due to the convenience of the location (I cannot drive anymore). The family who run it are all great people, any staff I have met are always kind and friendly. Selection is really good. Hours of operation are long, for the late sleepers and early risers. If you are missing an ingredient for dinner/baking chances are they have it at a reasonable price. The samosas and tamarind chutney are absolutely amazing!”

“This location is so clean and organized. The deli is filled with a variety of healthy alternatives for vegan and gluten-free folks. I ordered double meat in my sandwich.”

“I always am cheered up when I shop here. Happy to support a local business, I explore their great selection for such a small place, and find things to enjoy. I will go there just for the olives!... The place is clean, well stocked, service is friendly. If prices aren't the cheapest, you get what you pay for. (Besides, I offset that with shopping at thriftstores, and Costco for some things.) A very positive experience for me, anytime.”

“Been going here for years and any time I go somewhere else I’m so unhappy! The pharmacy team are so helpful and there is so rarely a wait and they are closer to Costco pharmacy prices then anyone else. Could not recommend enough!!”

“Enjoy buying The best vegetables! When the yams are not good anywhere they are perfect at Tai Sang on Government st. just north of Fisgard. A quiet, and respectful management.”

“My husband bought the wrong baby formula for our 4 month old who has stomach troubles. Unfortunately, he did not keep the receipt. Management was very sympathetic to my situation and allowed an exchange regardless of the missing receipt. This kind of customer service is essential in our community.”

“Family run convenience store. Has all the essential items starting from bread and spices to tools and basic hardware. Since it's more of a family run small business, do not expect it to have a lot of variety. Also, you cannot compare the prices with the prices at Walmart or Superstore. The staff are friendly, there was an old lady at the counter who had a smile on her face the whole time.”

“Props to the employees working here. Even just going to grab a few groceries can be tiring in that area. I tried using the bathroom one time there, never again. Thank you to security for doing your best to keep both the employees and shoppers safe.”

“I like it! Small footprint full-service grocery store with small-town, big-city cornerstore feel.Parking can be an issue (as most parking in Sidney is). Frequently stop in for picnic staples when visiting Sidney for its awesome thrift store shopping.Customer service is excellent. The store can get congested. There is good a selection of fresh seafood and a variety of ethnic groups specialties.Again, parking lot is small and can be challenging for pedestrians as well as drivers. Otherwise, a good place :).”

“Great selection. Very handy when you just need a cup or 2 of something instead of a huge bag which can be costly. Young staff members are always polite and courteous. Would recommend.”

“While a bit outdated and may have that slight classic strip mall vibe to it it has pretty much everything you could possibly need in one location. You got a shoe store, clothing store, makeup store, awesome grocery store, a pet store, restaurants, Canada Post, dollar store, music store, bed and couch store, and a whole bunch of other stuff. If you live in the area I'm sure you go here and I'm sure you know it's groovy.”

3.8 Good39 Reviews

“The biggest problem with being an isolated grocer with ample, easy parking, and great staff is that you get customers. Sometimes a LOT of customers. Aisle blocking cart leavers, no awareness direction changers, "oh shot, I forgot one thing" express lane users...Store and staff are great. Friendly, efficient and polite. Check you're timing before going. Also: caters to higher end; a million "charcuterie" sliced meat packs, but not a single "pizza meat" pack to be found.”

“This particular Thriftys ; Cook & Quadra doesn't run out of things as quickly as their other stores . It's never as crowded and I always get the best customer service there.”

“Thrifty Foods is a handy place to shop for groceries and to purchase discounted tickets for the MV Klitsa ferry. Regular food prices are typically on the high side, however the advertised sales are attractive.”

“My wife and I showed up for the booster shot as scheduled, but BCVacc had cancelled our appointments. No problem for Janet and her colleague in the pharmacy. Within minutes they had updated the appointments for us, and we got the booster shots quickly and professionally. Outstanding service in every way. Jimmy and Darrell should be proud of them.”
