“Visiting family from NY and dropped by to get side dish ingredients for a prime rib dinner. Brilliant. The produce and fruit are phenomenal, and include eclectic varieties. They also stock eggs milk etc from other local vendors. Don't think I have ever seen water buffalo milk for sale before here. If I lived here would be stopping at Mary's before a chain grocery store.”

“Excellent place to go for good deals on produce, the lettuce and squash are always cheap and we load up on other deals we usually find at the same time. Staff is friendly, boxes stocked by the till to use for your groceries and a big assortment of European things you can't find elsewhere. Love the vegeta bouillon cubes and the frozen sweet perogies! Also like the European packaged soups, nice to be able to go to a small local place for a change rather than the big busy chains.”

“I shop there roughly 5 days a week and my family has since they opened decades ago. It’s an Ocean Park institution!
For the people who complain about rude or grumpy cashiers, I have never experienced that. They may at times be shy or reserved, but that’s part of the variety of human nature. As a white male, I have never been treated in a discriminatory way, and find the staff to be helpful and pleasant. They are ethnically diverse, just like the customers, which is one of the great aspects of living in Surrey!
My only complaint is the warn-out 80’s music that is continually playing through the speakers. Could you get some more current tunes, Eric?

Sabzimandi is a hidden gem in Lillooet. I walked in just looking for a few ingredients and ended up finding way more than I expected. If you want real South Asian groceries and produce, this is the place.

The produce section is incredible — everything looked fresh, colorful, and clearly restocked often. I found spices, lentils, frozen parathas, and snacks I haven’t seen since Vancouver. Prices were fair, and way better than trying to find this stuff at a regular supermarket.

What makes Sabzimandi special is the staff. They were friendly, helpful, and knew their products inside out. I had questions about a few spices and they took time to explain how to use them. No rush, no attitude. Just genuine customer care.

The store is clean, well organized, and easy to navigate. Even though it’s packed with products, you can actually find what you need without playing hide-and-seek in the aisles.

If you cook at home or just love authentic ingredients, Sabzimandi is worth the stop. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel connected to the community. I’ll be back every time I’m in Lillooet.
