“It honestly felt like stepping back in time in the best way, I already cant wait to go back next time we are up the mountain. We grabbed some sandwiches for a hike and they were way better than any gas station food had a right to be, plus the guy behind the counter was super nice and gave us tips on the trail. The store has all the classic stuff you’d expect but also some really good local honey and jerky that I’m still thinking about. my girlfriend snagged a handmade mug from a local potter and it is one of the last places around here that actually feels like a real mountain general store. We ended up sitting on the porch for a few extra minutes just soaking it in, it was just a great stop. If you are driving through you have to pull over here.”

“I grew up in socal and have had stater bros around me my entire life. This one has been my favorite for the past 10 years. All of the employees are always so friendly. Heather and Amber are always around to help me find items. From the checkers, to produce, to the butchers, they’re all ready to help with a smile.”

“Sweet little farm store with friendly people.

Best fresh juice, oranges, lemons and tons of other great finds. Fresh chicken eggs, duck eggs, raw milk! Local tasty breads are brought in along with the most amazing jars of pickled items like pickled green tomatoes, pickled okra, pickled eggs and more!!

The entire family is addicted to the Bananas Foster preserves...

I will say that some of the custom items run a bit high in price ex. Pickled eggs jar is $30, but it's definitely worth it for a delicious low carb snack from time to time. (Bring your jars back for some $$ back)

If your lucky, you might catch a great sale on 25lb bags of oranges for $10, best time to grab a bag and do some juicing for the week, just be quick to use them up!”

“We have driven by this market many times in the past, but only today did we finally stop by for a visit. Located on the quieter north shore of Big Bear Lake, it operates as a one-stop shop for folks who do not wish to travel to the busier south side. This is the primary convenience store and general market in Fawnskin. We learned from the very nice sales lady that Fawnskin is a small, remote mountain community and the market stocks a little bit of everything to save people a trip across the lake. The market has most essentials from basic groceries, snacks, toiletries, and firewood. They have a wide selection of beer, liquor, juices, and wine as well as an ATM and local souvenirs. The market also carries some recreation gear like fishing equipment, bait, fishing licenses, snow boots, gloves, and beanies. In the future, we will make sure to stop here anytime we are in Big Bear to patronize this local market so that it will continue to be an incredibly convenient stop if you are renting a cabin or camping in the Fawnskin area or simply passing through.”

“Great store.

Baffled that people review this store, the only one of it's kind in a 20 miles radius, as having high prices. They are actually more than reasonable considering the location.”

“I cannot say how impressed I am with this store and the staff. The store was well stocked and the prices were reasonable. The staff was absolutely incredible! After buying boots for my daughter at the store, I inadvertently left one of her sneakers in the store. Terry and Sid went above and beyond and helped to mail the shoe back to us in San Diego. Thank you both for being wonderful humans.”

“I'm so glad that Grocery Outlet is here in Big Bear, the prices and selection beat out the other stores in town and I feel like you can find little treasures and more premium goods for amazing prices. We almost only exclusively shop here now, and it's a great place to pick up household goods too, it's an all-round good place to stock-up.”

“Love this place! Staff is friendly, owner is very nice as well. Happy with the renovations of the place when it first opened. It looks awesome now! It's back to serving alcohol and is a great stop close to where I live for those late night snack runs.”

“This is the best staters I've been to -hands down. Open floorplan, easy to navigate thru the isles, well organized and I can always find what I need. The staff is always kind and helpful. I've also ordered some birthday cakes here which have been excellent every time matching exactly what I asked for.”

“The Mentone, Ca store is awesome. The manager and store employees are always kind and accommodating. I find all kinds of things there to stock my pantry. Their paper products are equal to brand name. Enjoy my "splurge" there and am proud to use my DG coupons.”

“I drive from Calimesa to avoid the Staters there. They could learn so much from the good customer service that this one has as well as this location on 4th street being clean. I come here later in the evening to shop because of my work schedule and they're always friendly and make you feel welcome! Great selection and well stocked!”

“The owner is always nice. They have more alcohol than BevMo with crazy cheap prices for alcoholics who want a cheap quick fix. I love how I can always park a few feet from the front door. I like to buy lotto tickets here because most big winners bought their tickets from small, dated liquor stores. Cons are the front door is like a cheap wood bedroom door from the 1960's with a round residential door knob so not feels like you're entering someone's house from the 1960's, but all kidding aside, overall it's a fantastic little market that I love going to. Be careful because I can tell it's the type of small business owner who will come at you with an aluminum baseball bat in one hand and an AK-47 in the other hand if you try to steal or cause trouble so don't even think of it.”

“Came here today for my kids field trip. I believe his name was Joe? I could be wrong. But he was great with the kids. Kind and was able to make kid friendly jokes. We got to see the "background" scene of everything which was cool for my kids since we shop have shopped at this location many times. Everything was spotless behind the scenes. They also gave the kids a cookie and backpack of snacks and school supplies which we weren't expecting and thought it was very thoughtful of them.”

“They sell Geek Bar Vapes for $10 bucks less than The Goat our local vape shop, and cigarettes are the same price. They even have a few of the larger digital geek bars and they are the same price as the normal ones which is a sweet deal. The owner is super friendly and always has a smile on his face.... Cheapest place I've found in Yucaipa so far to buy vapes!!”

“As good a grocery store as any other. They are open an hour later than Stator Brothers across the street. They have slightly higher prices because they are in the Big Bear Lake mountain community. It is more expensive, being in the mountains, to stock their shelves.”

“I’ve never thought to write a review for a grocery store before so I hope in writing this, it reaches the right person to give credit where credit is due. I’ve been shopping here for seven years and mostly due to how I can shop efficiently. I’ve never had a bad experience with an employee, but I wouldn’t say I’ve ever had a great one. Seems most people just do the bare minimum of any job these days anyway. But today I was helped by an employee I’ve never seen before, his name was Justin and he was bagging my groceries. He was quick, polite, and I feel like just the way he acknowledged my family was something that kind of doesn’t happen anymore. I don’t think the cashier even made eye contact with me and as a matter of fact just walked away to help someone else while I had to wait for my receipt. Justin made sure to grab that for me and let everyone else in line know the cashier would be back soon. It’s just nice. It’s nice to see that good customer service isn’t gone, especially seeing it from young kid.”

“I stopped by to purchase our office pool Lottery tickets instead of buying them at a big corporate supermarket. The cashier was very nice and friendly while she handled my multiple transactions for Super Lotto. The store seems to get their regular local customers as the cashier seemed to know everyone coming in.”
