“Fast and friendly! Zero complaints for this credit union. I signed up about a year ago, and I go in every two weeks or so. They are closed on weekends, which is a bit of a bummer, but that's pretty normal for a bank. Tellers need weekends, too! There are three regular tellers at the desk and I've conversed with them all. Each is proficient and courteous.”

“I will say that many credit unions have more of a family-oriented atmosphere than the big name financial institutions such as Bank of America, Chase, and Wells Fargo. And "SAFE Credit Union" is no exception. Based in Folsom (where their headquarters are) and serving the greater Sacramento area as well as Yuba, Sutter, El Dorado counties and parts of the Bay Area, this has been my go-to place dating back to the late-2000's. The location I am focusing on is directly on Madison Ave. and adjacent to San Juan Ave. in Citrus Heights. This location does have a drive-thru ATM machine as well as a single walk-up ATM machine outside. They do provide ample parking from two separate entrances. Once inside, the interior of this credit union is quite open and spacious. There are several areas where you can sit and wait as well as a respectable amount of cubicles where many of the bankers provide questions on loans (personal, student, home equity, vehicle) as well as mortgages, money market, and IRA's. The area where the tellers work is also spacious while the line moves rather quickly. Some of the major advantages that this credit union offers is free checking, no ATM fees at non-SAFE credit unions, low interest credit cards, and overdraft protection. I've taken out several loans where the monthly payments have not been too expensive which is a huge plus. Their mobile app is also very handy where you can transfer money with ease while navigating through all your accounts. All in all, "SAFE Credit Union" is an above average place to serve all your banking needs. My rating, four stars.”

“I have been a member for over twenty years and really appreciate the small bank attention I receive whenever I go into the branch. They know your name and you don't feel like a number, much different than the big banks. Fees are nonexistent and our home equity line is at a great rate. Maybe not the fastest service, but overall I would recommend.”

“I visited to this branch in person today (11/9) to dispute a recent transaction after losing my card. I came in feeling a little stressed about the situation, but that was quickly alleviated after Hannah at the front desk helped me address my problems. She assisted me with so much kindness and professionalism; she listened attentively to my story, showed so much patience in taking care of my needs, and eased my anxiety. Whenever finances is involved, it's always stressful but I can say with confidence that Hannah made it so quick and easy. I left the bank with my new cards feeling satisfied and confident that my case was in good hands thanks to Hannah's phenomenal customer service. Thank you Hannah!”
“I have been banking with SCU for over 15 years. I've been waiting to open an account with a different credit union (not SCU) because they offer it through my work. It has been over two weeks and I still haven't been approved. Mind you, I have an excellent credit score and no red flags. This terrible/annoying experience with the other credit union has made me really appreciate SCU even more than I already do. Everything with SCU has always been quick, efficient, and the staff has been great to work with. I appreciate SCU!”
“I came in today to make a new account after having issues with golden one. I decided I need to have a different bank right away as I walked in I was greeted and the girl who helped me. Tiffany was very nice and was able to help me make a new account within minutes we decided on the free checking and savings account for me since that would fit my financial needs, she was very sweet took her time and asked me before I left if I had any more questions and even showed me how to download the safe credit Union app and how to sign onto it she went above and beyond to make sure I had a wonderful experience really happy with her exceptional customer service skills She was awesome. I am very happy that I was able to open up an account and be in an out this was an awesome, smooth process. This location is a newer location. It's very large very nice very friendly staff. This is definitely a bank that everybody should check out given the fact that it's a credit union you could pull money from golden one and they will not charge a fee on it. They made my transaction very easy they were able to transfer my funds from the golden one into my new account. I was happy with my experience. I am really glad they were able to accommodate me given the fact it was a weekend that made my weekend even better. I highly recommend this establishment for anybody looking to get a new bank account. They are awesome. Plus they have really great auto loans definitely a place to check out. “This review is for my experiences with Sacramento credit union in general, not just this location. I have been a long-time member originally with Kai Perm credit union for kaiser employees. However, when Sacramento credit union took over, I kept my account with them . I don't really have any complaints and have a checking & savings account with them . I had a $1000 CD, which i kept open for years. I have had two auto loans with them , I co-signed for my sons personal loan, and I obtained a second on my home. The location here is easy to access when serving on a jury , I used to frequent the Morse location when I worked in the area but now I use the Elk Grove branch as it is close to my home. I appreciate the hours they are open as well as the call center, which you are easily able to speak to a live person without jumping through hoops. Unlike the big banks who you can rarely speak to a live person both in branch or over the phone.”
