“Me and my buddy took a bike ride on the Bob Jones trail, on the way back we rode on the pier and my buddy wanted to show me the octopus or squid in the tank, while we were there the associate wanted me to sample a cold piece of salmon, I thought to myself "cold" and I'm use to eating my wife's just cooked salmon with lemon or Dijon mustard and not a big fan of salmon, so bravely said yes. Wow, my eyes popped open, I couldn't believe the flavor, I asked what kind of salmon was this? She said smoked from outside. Wow, so this is what salmon is suppose to taste like, so I ended up taking a piece for the wife and she agreed, it was great. So if you come to Avila, CA make it a point to buy some smoked salmon.”

They have awesome selection of snacks, candy, and coolers for reach-in drinks. The Avila burger is huge and loaded with delicious toppings. The fries are Crisp and hot. The Carnitas tacos are homemade the night before and the salsa really makes it.”

“Our family has been eating at La Tapatia for around 30 years. We usually go to the Oceano location. Lucy is the best...love her Carnitas. The 13th Street location is great too! Plus they just remodeled the outside dining area and it is so cute. If you want an authentic meal, try either location.. you won't be disappointed! It is all Great!”

“I try and come here pretty frequently when I am in San Luis Obispo. There are a few Asian snacks and candies that I get cravings for and this is really the only place to get them. There are a few other Asian markets in the region, but not really as well stocked as this one. I've had a few nice conversations with the owner and have always found them helpful and kind.”

“Everyone was really nice. The store was super clean. The lady that checked me out was very polite and professional. The bathroom was clean and the food is reasonably priced. Also, I did not have to wait in line. They were plenty of employees there to get everybody checked out in a timely manner.”

“Other than the evening before the Superbowl not being the best time to shop, the staff was friendly, checkout was speedy, and there was room in the parking lot. As always. A good experience.”

“Italian deli at its finest! We stopped for lunch after going to Butterfly Grove. The sandwiches were delicious! The bread was soft and fresh, the portions of meat were generous. When we ordered our sandwiches we walked by the pastry case and we had the intention of getting something set but we're too full from the sandwiches. Tip: share your sandwich with a friend to save room for something sweet!”

“I like the sandwiches here, although I don't get a chance to go very often. The gobbler and the Tuscan turkey are both quite good. The seating area is kept pretty relaxing and the employees are nice.”

“The register guy was very friendly. They have a lot of items to choose from. And a little deli that I've heard was good. I haven't actually tried them. And there's a little area outside to sit and relax to eat or just visit.”

“A NY style Bodega store but without the cat! Easy in & easy out. Seems like a family owned business. A well stocked & small convenience store that sells staples like chips, candy, sodas, lottery tickets, and over-the-counter remedies. Very good liquor section. Lots of parking. People are friendly. Not sure if it’s open 24/7. Easy to find & get to.”

“I love shopping at Grocery Outlet. The prices are great, people are friendly. However, they don't have everything, and if you are a stickler for some exact item, you might be disappointed. I don't let that stop me, I shop there first and then on to Ralph's if they don't have what I need.”

“I like coming here and finding some good deals on items that I cannot find at Trader Joe's. Also there is always some type of Kombucha or pre made coffee drink here that is a fraction of the price of what it would be at Whole Foods. They also have good deals on Keurig coffee pods from Dunkin Donuts which I like but check the date before purchasing. Some stuff is close to expiring.”

“Great fresh produce spot with lots of options, including pre-sliced fruit cups, homemade guacamole and salsa, and more! Just note that it's "cash only."”

“Great prices, very competitive I try and do as much shopping here as possible. Has been the lease expensive grocery store I've found and am new to the area which seems like all prices are skyrocketed! Uuggghh”

“Originally ordered the chile relleno and taco combo but later asked if it could be put in a burrito. It didn't disappoint. Just enough spicy cheesy goodness with beans, rice and carnitas. Will try pastor next time. ?”

“The meat department looks so much better than it has in the past! I was shocked to see how organized and clean it is! The girl stocking the meat was very helpful! I will definitely be returning!”

“Santiago and Pedro are super nice and always make sure my order is just right. The pastor and asada is so good and not too dry or too fatty like I’ve experienced at other places. Prices are so cheap and you get a ton of meat. And they put grilled pineapple on the pastor tacos which I love!”

“A Mexican style grocery store, but a bit on the pricy side. Besides the prices, the items are really good. The deli has the best fajita-style chicken breast. The deli also has: buy 3 lbs. and get the 4th lb. Free of ground beef!!!!”

“If you blink, you might miss this place. To fit our big truck, we turned in from Side Street entrance, so we didn't block Cabrillo hwy. Pay attention to lighted fuel price signs. They list cash and credit prices. So you're lured in with a price but looking over at another sign notice credit price. Still, this place is cheapest in town for diesel. And has room for 4 cars.”

“We went for a sandwich and bought some goodies. Although the cashier was a little rude because I didn't know about tagging the bulk buys and the customer behind me was hella rude shaking her head because I was a first time customer there and didn't know. My sandwich was yummy. And the bulk pecans I bought were also hella good. I'd consider going back.”

“You can find a nice burger grill inside this store. ( Burgers n More ) Pick up some good eats and a cold one right from the case. They make a peanut butter and jelly cheese burger that has some of the best custom crafted jam I've ever tasted. You can even buy a jar if you want.”

“I'm in grocery heaven. You'll easily fall in love with this store. It is gorgeous and a beach town attraction. You could have a girls afternoon here. They've even had whiskey tasting. There's a gift shop. For the love, check out the meat counter. You know, good girls love some good meat (well, I think the bad ones do too). Heck, all girls should get their meat on and this is the place to do it, even if people are watching. .....should this Yelp review be rated?”

“Perfect little cookie/ice cream spot in SLO.Cookies and brownies are served warm and topped or filled like a sandwich with ice cream. The ice cream is great quality, and not overly sweet. I got the blondie which was warm, gooey, and crispy around the edges.Seating area is limited, but there is indoor and outdoor seating.”

“I would agree with other reviewers that this little market doesn't seem to have full shelves. I have never been to their precious location, so I can't compare, but I can say that the woman at the counter, and the older gentleman were very kind. Although there is a little bit of a language barrier, I was able to get my ask across. I had initially gone in there for eggs. And although they don't sell them in normal egg crates, they did sell me individual ones in a bag. I came back a few days later to try out their asada burrito, and yes, to get more eggs. The asada was good, but personal preference, it was pretty heavy on the rice. Price was also good considering the current economy, but again, a lot of rice. My review is a bit mixed - 3 stars for the burrito. And 4 for service and my purchase of eggs. Solid 3.5.”
