“I had a great experience with this shop. My hybrid vehicle overheated and went into protection mode with several warning codes, including a coolant pump failure. They diagnosed the issue quickly, replaced the coolant pump and coolant, and had my car repaired the same day. The staff explained everything clearly, kept me updated throughout the process, and made a stressful situation much easier. Since the repair, my car has been running normally with no warning lights or overheating issues. I really appreciated their fast turnaround, professionalism, and honesty. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing hybrid or engine repair work.”

“I took my van to Johnny through my warranty, and he took care of everything from start to finish. What really stood out to me was his great communication. He constantly kept me updated on the progress of my vehicle and made sure I knew what was going on throughout the entire process. It’s hard to find someone you can trust with your vehicle, but Johnny was honest, professional, and genuinely helpful. He made the whole warranty process much easier than I expected. Great work, great communication, and a great person overall. I definitely recommend Johnny and Johnny’s Transmission! 10/10!”

“This family run business is great. Everyone was very professional and very communicative. They were reasonably priced and did great work. The transmission in our 98 ford explorer went out and we lost reverse only. They rebuilt the whole transmission and went through everything. They ran into a problem with our car being stuck in 4 wheel drive low and called to ask us questions and work out a plan for it. I will be recommending this shop to anyone who asks me for a transmission recommendation. And we will likely be taking our other truck here in the future when we are ready to have it worked on. If you need transmission work go here.”

“Fast, GREAT work, friendly, very good prices, honest.I had the same type of work done on the same vehicle in a different shop about two years before. Universal did it in a couple of hours, instead of a couple of days. Charged me about 30% less, and the workmanship was better. I couldn’t believe it, but I’m glad I found them!!”

“My 2015 Honda Fit broke down in Bakersfield over Thanksgiving, and I ended up having it towed to Quality Transmission. Rodney gave me a fair price on the transmission repair and set me up with a warranty through LKQ, which gave me confidence in the work being done. He got the job done quickly, and the car has been running great for the past couple of months. I also appreciated that he took the time to talk through whether it made sense to repair the car or move on from it. His practical guidance was genuinely helpful during a stressful situation. Overall, I had a very good experience. Quality Transmission delivered solid, reliable work at an honest price, and I’d recommend Rodney’s shop to anyone needing transmission repairs in the Bakersfield area.”

“These guys are great! They diagnosed my vehicals noise using there electonic ear system and pinpointed the cause of it, which was extremely misdiagnosed at 2 other local shops. Their rebuild price for a transfer case rebuild was CHEAPER than quotes others were offering for a used 130k mile used unit. Extremely happy I found this shop, and highly recommend their services.”

“Being taking my vehicle for transportation repairs. Afte transmission overhaul. There was an oil leak. They claim it was a retaining seal. But my vehicle still has some issues. “I took my car to a quick service oil change place and the next day there was an oil leak. Took it back to the same oil change place and they “tightened” the drain plug and added blue glue to reinforce it- as I was told by the service tech. A week later it was leaking oil yet again so I decided to call kern transmission. I spoke to Paul and he was able to get my vehicle in the following day. The mechanic was thorough and found that the quick service did not thread the drain plug correctly, the gasket needed to be replaced and the oil filter had not been replaced. Kern transmission took time with my car to assess and resolve the issue. They also inspected my car for recommended future services. Thank you Kern transmission for saving me this headache, writing up a report to file a claim with the quick service oil change place and all at an affordable cost. Would highly recommend.”

“The guys at Transmission Performance Center really saved us. We bought a truck from a tow yard. There was a sticker near the gas tank that the trunk only took diesel .... so we put diesel. HUGE mistake. Luckily, the truck stopped running near this place. The guys came out to ask us what was wrong. They realized the sticker was wrong and gave us an idea of what could be done to fix the problem. We left the truck with them (thankfully we had a rental) and returned home (to another state). Jimmy communicated with us throughout. He told us when the car would be ready and gave us a fair price. We drove back to Bakersfield and picked up our truck last Friday. We've driven it about almost 1,000 miles so far and it's worked perfectly. These guys are honest and helpful. If I needed help again, I wouldn't hesitate to give them my business.”
