“I had them rebuild the transmission in my '08 F150 4x4 in January of 2023. I deliberately waited until I had over 8 thousand miles on the rebuild before putting up a review.I am VERY satisfied with the work done. The transmission went out on me, with the overdrive slipping. I had to take overdrive off and keep it in 2nd gear to drive it in.The repair price was what I considered fair for the quality of work and parts used. The service was timely- less than a week in total. The quality is not only warrantied by Brandon's Transmission, but the work is still holding: smooth shifting both with and without load on the transmission.I would have no qualms about having them do other work for me!!!!”

“This business is a well oiled family business. I was driving through Bakersfield around 4P on a weekday and experienced car troubles. I called SEVERAL mechanics in the Bakersfield area and all were either closing or not available. I even have AAA, they came out and could not fix the issue. My last call was to Castro's Auto Repair. I explained my issue and they sent a mechanic to my location to assist with car issue. The mechanic arrived fixed my car good enough for me to follow him back to the auto shop (about a 10 min drive). I waited patiently once at the auto shop for the repair- about 45 minutes. Once repaired I paid for their service which might I add was VERY REASONABLE And FAIR considering my emergency auto issue. On my way back through Bakersfield I stopped by for an oil change and to have the mechanic look at the car once more before continuing a loooooong drive. I am TRULY GRATEFUL for CASTRO's AUTO REPAIR. This business and its owners, employees are truly the DEFINITION of CUSTOMER SERVICE, RELIABLE, AND EFFICIENT AND HUST OVERALL GOOD PEOPLE. “Can't say enough good things about this place in one review! Took my short school bus conversion in for an oil change and fuel filters. Sergio and John were outstanding and beyond helpful. They walked me through everything and even showed me under the vehicle. I needed my batteries swapped and they helped me with that as well even though it's not a service they provide (not easy to do on a bus) half the cost of other places I was quoted at and just overall super friendly. Couldn't recommend them more!”

“I am extremely happy and satisfied with the services I was provided! My clutch went out on my car and I couldn't drive it. I took it to AAMCO & they wanted to charge 1620, then went down to 1420. It was frustrating because I'm not sure what was done but my car wouldn't start anymore after I picked it up from AAMCO. My husband found this business & let me tell you, it was the BEST thing we found! They were patient with me & trying to get my car towed there. When I finally got it towed, it literally took like one day. They did a free inspection on my car. Before repairing my car I was given options, either $1120 if I wanted lifetime warranty or $975 without the warranties . My car was fixed so quick! I picked it up the next morning! It only took like maybe a full day. They ended up giving me the warranty anyway! I loved that they didn't pressure me on whichever option I choose! They were honest & it's so hard to come across that in businesses for car repairs! I am always going to go back here for any car repairs! Don't be dumb & take your car somewhere else! Never had an issue with that vehicle after 16 years.. The van was stolen and taken to Tijuana where I recovered 5 months later. Then donated to a charity in San Diego.My current challenge was with my 200k miles Honda Element... We discovered an axle shaft leak during a recent oil change. I took the car in a 8 a.m. had the seals replaced and back on the road by 3 PM... They wanted the change our brakes right then. We brought the car here for the brakes and they called us saying they looked good and are no where near needing replaced. “The guys at Transmission Performance Center really saved us. We bought a truck from a tow yard. There was a sticker near the gas tank that the trunk only took diesel .... so we put diesel. HUGE mistake. Luckily, the truck stopped running near this place. The guys came out to ask us what was wrong. They realized the sticker was wrong and gave us an idea of what could be done to fix the problem. We left the truck with them (thankfully we had a rental) and returned home (to another state). Jimmy communicated with us throughout. He told us when the car would be ready and gave us a fair price. We drove back to Bakersfield and picked up our truck last Friday. We've driven it about almost 1,000 miles so far and it's worked perfectly. These guys are honest and helpful. If I needed help again, I wouldn't hesitate to give them my business.”
