37976 Road 222 Wishon, Bass LakeMiller's Boat Landing — we rented a pontoon for my birthday, and the boat was beat up but serviceable. The pontoon edges and rails showed some damage, but the interior was well kept and it ran steady and sipped gas. No insurance on the boats, though — you rent it, something happens, you basically own a boat. They should offer simple coverage for under eighty bucks.
The staff more than made up for it. The woman at the desk and the guy at the end were friendly, joked around, and genuinely helped us out. The young dock crew worked their tails off — loading, unloading, resurfacing boats at a fast clip. Not much of that work ethic you see anymore, and I was impressed.
Turn-in was simple. We paid for gas used — about ten bucks an hour, forty total for four hours on the lake. The rental itself ran under four hundred with the military discount. Since I was responsible for the boat with no insurance, I stayed sober while everyone else had a good time.
Little maintenance things slipped through — the radio fell into the center console, but I popped the side panel and set it right. In peak summer, stuff like that happens, and guests probably don't report it for fear of getting charged. Still, the boat ran fine and we had a great time.

5S07, Bass LakeJones Store is a step back in time. This is a very cool rustic area up in the mountains. We made a special drive there for lunch and we were not disappointed. The burgers were delicious. The bread made the sandwich. I don't know for sure how they make it but it was some of the best bread on a burger I've ever had. I will say it probably wasn't the most healthy, but once in awhile we deserve a treat. A bag of chips came with a burger and they were your standard potato chips. You pick your soda or beer out of the old time propane refrigerators. I said that right. You don't see propane refrigerators everyday. We chose to eat outside and the views were awesome. It didn't take very long at all for our meals to be delivered to our table. After we got done with the burgers we decided to try the pie and that was pretty funny. I asked what type of pies they had and they said two types pie and no pie. They couldn't tell us what type of pie it was but they said it was good pie. We decided to try one and it came in a bowl. It had ice cream on top of it and whipped topping. The pie was good, although we didn't know for sure what type it was. It was either apple or possibly pear but the texture we couldn't really figure out. I guess only they know for sure. Overall, it was a great experience and a pleasant time with friends. We went on August 14th wearing t-shirts and shorts. In the shade. It was a little bit too cool and in the sun a little bright and warm. At a high altitude it can sometimes be cooler than what you would expect. Be prepared. Also, for all of you who are stuck on your telephones you will not have cell reception. Enjoy the moment! The electronic world can wait.

Only 2 fish tacos per order? They've priced everything like it's oceanfront resort quality, not lakeside BFE fryer foods.
The cover band was pretty good.
