The showroom is beautifully curated with great value, and the whole experience—from purchase to delivery—was smooth and enjoyable. They went above and beyond refinishing our Nils Jonsson “Florence” credenza, and even personally delivered a component to our home. The piece is gorgeous, but it’s their service and care that really stood out. Highly recommend!”

No commissions, no haggling, super high quality products and employees. Comfort exchange policy is awesome. And the mattresses are comfortable and serviceable so will last much longer and ultimately be a bargain.”

The showroom also helps you choose between products. We’ve had great experiences working with Ed. He’s super knowledgeable and helpful. “I bought a couch at Alpha Design after falling in love with my friend's couch, also from Alpha Design. We had been looking for a new couch for at least a couple of years, and never found anything we really liked. Hans was able to customize so many aspects of our couch that were not possible to customize with other companies.
Our new L-shaped sofa is super comfortable, fits perfectly in our home, and arrived in less than the 2 week estimated wait (despite the Thanksgiving holiday). Thank you, Hans!”

“Teak Me Home not only makes superb furniture, their service is also phenomenal. we contacted TMH to order a Ravera bed frame that we needed within two weeks. Alex made it happen very quickly and even came to our house to deliver it and set it up. We also added a set of wall hooks to our order fairly last minute and Alex was able to bring those along with the bedframe. he even threw in a cutting board! All around, I had a great experience working with Alex and TMH and look forward to using them again soon.”

“Berkeley Mills made and installed a new front door for us. They worked with us to design just what we wanted and communicated throughout the process. We hate to let go of anything that was an original part of our 1915 craftsman bungalow, but had to in this case and are super pleased with the outcome. It was expensive, but it's stunning (and ought to last another 100 years!). And we have received so many compliments!”
“Had an excellent experience selecting a new sofa for our new space. I came in expecting to try out some sofas and potentially come back later, but we ended up purchasing a sofa by the end of our visit (very unusual for me). They were fairly busy on a Sunday, but a gentleman whose name I didn't catch directed us to a few sofas that I won't have thought to try, and of course one of them ended up being the one we purchased. We were passed off to Abdul for the logistics of the selecting the layout/fabric. Even though they were decently busy, Abdul took time to measure around the sofa to help us visualize how it would fit in our space, which helped us settle on a three-seater with a moveable ottomon, rather than a sectional.Overall had a lovely experience with the employees, and honestly their selection is amazing. It seems to be a very intentionally curated balance between well designed furniture without being over designed, well manufactured, and high(er)-end without paying extra for brand-name. It was honestly EXACTLY the balance was trying to hit. Can be more expensive, but if you can afford investing I strongly recommend KCC Modern, I'm confident this sofa is going to last a VERY long time.”

“Tl;dr - I'm only writing this review because Target needs more staff if they are going to maintain half the aisles under lockdown. Otherwise, it's going to become not worth shopping here.I shop here frequently because I live in the neighborhood. It is well stocked for its size and it's great for families in terms of the kid aisles and general household, personal care items. The staff are typically very helpful and nice. I understand why they've put so many aisles behind locked cases, but they need more staffing. It's impossible to shop quickly in this store anymore, rendering its former "convenience" for less so. It takes 10 minutes and upwards to get something basic like toothpaste unlocked. The only solution is adding more staff if the locked aisles are staying in place.”

“Design within reach is one of my favorite go to stores while I'm shopping in the Berkeley area. Yes, this is an upscale Store, but even as the name of the store implies many things are definitely within reach! As a Hermann miller, faced store, you know right off the bat that anything you purchase is going to be of superior quality, not to mention having a great warranty to go along with it. The staff is always so very welcoming and friendly, and my recent shopping excursion was no exception. If you're not familiar with the work of Herman Miller, I implore you to explore each and every piece. The Eames lounge chair is my favorite! Plus, I love the fact that this chair is also made for taller people such as myself. When you sit in this chair, it's like sitting on a cloud. You'll feel absolutely warm and fuzzy. They also offer a variety of sit and stand desks that with a push of a button, can be adjusted for practically any height. This is absolutely spectacular, especially with so many people working from home these days. You definitely should consider this desk for your home office needs . A big thank you to Lisa and her staff for helping us out recently with our purchase. We greatly appreciate you answering all of our questions, and for bringing your knowledge and expertise to the conversation in order to help us make a decision.”
“I just stumbled on to this page while checking for hours, actually, but I was floored to see such relatively low reviews, so I thought I would chime in with mine. It's been several years since I purchased anything here, but when I have, or when I was mattress shopping and laid on their offerings, all my experiences have been pleasant. Whether it's knowledgable and engaged salespeople or a nice range of products/pricing (my last purchase was maybe a ~$20 baby gift), it's a positive experience. I've also learned some brand awareness here, mostly about pillows and bedding. Like any retail store, dud products will be sold, but it can't be blamed on the owners. For instance, I bought some shower timers that suction-cup-stick to the wall and you can turn them, and it's a GREAT IDEA for water conservation. But, they fell off the shower walls (two different showers/locations) and broke and became landfill. That is awful. Is it Earthsake's fault? Nope. In fact, I'd not be surprised if they got this feedback and stopped carrying the product. Companies have "inside sales" reps who sell the company products to retail stores and typically get salary + commission. If I owned a store and my rep said this product was the bomb, I would believe them too. Anyway, I would be upset if this wonderful store, for locals by locals, were to cease existence, so just my two cents on years of experience there. I think too many reviewers here are blaming the store for things that are out of the store owners' control.”

“Since moving to Sacramento this is now my closest cb2. I’m a big fan, but since cb2 never displays their entire collection in stores or keeps stock of furniture in store most of my purchases are online. The Berkeley location is a nice size but the drive from Sacramento is too far for in-store pickup effectively making it more expensive. The return policies on shipped items (that you’ve never seen) is not good. Retuning will cost you even if never opened or just took a peek. They deduct return shipping and don’t refund shipping to you. Hard to understand how non locals can realistically shop there. Considering Sacramento is top relocation destination for Bay Area residents it’s surprising they have no presence here. On the plus side the Vacaville Crate&Barrel Outlet often has a large cb2 selection.”

“I gave the salesman at sleep world a difficult and they did wonderfully. I needed a queen mattress immediately And not too expensive. The floor model was perfect and they helped us fit it in the back of our Honda pilot. They even made the experience kind of fun!”
