The Oakland store near Jack London square has international foods and papasan chairs and soaps that make nice gifts, as well as other eclectica, decor, and holiday items.”

I worked with brother-and-sister team Diego and Maya to create the couch of my dreams, and the entire experience exceeded every expectation I had.
I had been searching online and at larger furniture stores for a month or two, trying to find a couch that fit my apartment. I needed very specific dimensions for my space, and nothing felt customizable enough. One day, walking along Grand Ave, I finally stopped into their showroom — a place I had passed many times without realizing what was inside.
When I saw “custom,” I assumed it would mean limited modifications like the big retailers offer. I was completely wrong.
I was able to choose:
• Fabric type and color
• Cushion stitching details
• Cushion firmness and fill material
• Feet style
• Exact dimensions
• The precise bumper length to give my L-shaped couch a more sectional feel

“Definitely one of the most beautiful stores in Rockridge/Oakland! It is filled with beautiful japanese ceramics, plates, daruma dolls, incenses, lamps and more. I keep going back to get daruma dolls. If you're interested in japanese culture and furniture, this store is a must! It also sells larger furniture especially beds and futons, but also some chairs, tables etc.
The owner is also very kind and always ready to help. One of my favorite stores I've been to here.”

“A 2nd for Jon Nichols. I called him looking for a dock that I could move. I didn't know what I needed, just that I had a problem and was looking for a solution. He said "you need a portable yard ramp". NO ONE, NOT ONE other material handling company in the entire Bay Area even knew the name of these Yard Ramps. Jon knew what I needed and he even has one! Going to be working with him in July for sure. Some day I am going to need a new forklift or racks for our warehouse or something and I am going to go to Cromer for the sole reason that Jon impressed me so much. A company with smart people is SO hard to find today. This is the real deal.”
“I don’t review often but my mom and I happened along this furniture shop on a hot day when I was 8 months pregnant and the owner, Kania, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, and just an amazing human being. We ended up sitting down on one of the couches, getting into a long, beautiful conversation and though we didn’t end up buying anything, it was a wonderful experience. Also, all the furniture and art is both stylish and comfortable. I will be back when it’s time for a new couch.
Kania also wrote the cutest children’s book that my 3 year old kid now loves. It’s called Tomato Chases Waterfalls and you can buy it in the store. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back.

“I was surprised by the fascinating items in the store, many wood and stone carvings, and if you ask, you can see antique items, and some truly unique ones, not for sale, just their personal collection. At first it looks like many display cabinets, but there are vases, statues, and other items. I picked up a couple of gifts, small statuettes. The owner was very friendly and explained how to spot new versus vintage glazes. A real gem of a store and worth seeing.”
