“Have been buying Taschen publications for several years. They offer beautiful books at affordable prices (I especially love their facsimiles of Medieval books) but have noticed something that bothers me: I treat my books well. I keep them shelved upright or lying flat if they're oversized, and I never force them open to make them lie flat on a table, etc. Nevertheless, over time, pages or entire signatures on some of their publications have come loose. Why make such lovely books, and then glue the signatures in, or if they sew them, sew them in with what is apparently inferior thread? I did contact Taschen about this problem once but got no reply.”

“Auntie Barbara's kids is a great stop. I have been shopping there for years and have always found the staff to be friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I drive from Newport Beach because they have such unusual things. When ever I give a gift from Auntie Barbara's it is always well received because it is simply put unique and beautiful. They have a large selection or both boys and girls clothes that happen to be adorable. I took my granddaughter there and she thought it was the best store ever. The staff was very polite and engaging with her and she felt like a grown-up shopping. She can't wait to go back. Today when so many stores lack customer service, this store gives great customer service. Their recommendations are always spot on. If you're looking for a quality gift this is the place. Don't let some of the negative reviews cause you not to go. This is definitely a gem. My one wish was that it was closer to me!!!”

Definitely recommend checking it out. The owner let me that they do signings there and if you can't make it, if you buy something from the signing he will send it to you!”

“I've been eyeing this bookstore for quite some time and I'm so so happy that I finally made the drive over. Rep Club is a black and woman owned independent bookstore that has so much thought and intention behind their space. It's evident in their wide selection of inclusive and diverse books, art, music, and unique gift items. I picked up Act Your Age by Talia Hibbert because I really enjoyed her other book from the series. I'm also a huge fan of Bell Hooks ('About Love'!) so I picked up Communion. Lastly, after practicing some self control, I picked up my third and final purchase of the day, a vegan cookbook! So excited to dive into my reads. Can't wait for my next visit!”

“If you are visiting Los Angeles or just on your way on Sepulveda, you must stop into this little oasis in Culver City. There is great shopping but also places to sit (do you remember sitting while visiting?) and a moment in their peaceful Chapel can easily last 2 hours. Talk to the Sisters, they are just lovely!”

“I have never enter this store but I did wait for my brother in the car meanwhile he got a Siddur for me. I observed how the owner walked with my brother towards the books and probably explained to him what the book was for. It took me a while to read the Siddur. Know that I read it every morning and night, I’m very happy with it. May God continue to bless this shop. ?”

“Great bookstore! The staff were friendly and welcoming. The selection was good for the store's footprint, and they had a map to make searching easier. The have a smaller sale section, which has great books for cheap prices; nonetheless, the non-sale books had reasonable prices, too. You could spend hours in the store, and still have something worth perusing on a second visit.”

“A very well curated and maintained bookstore. Always current best sellers lists as well as staff recommendations. It's a little too easy to find great books in this store, hard to leave without picking up a few extras. They also have a great art book selection just a few doors down on the same street.Parking can be difficult in the immediate area, but there is plenty of neighborhood parking just a short walk away.”

“Small World Books (( & Franny the ? ))Small World Books is one of the biggest littlest book stores out there comparable to Grey Matter Books on Yale's Campus in New Haven, CT. “A truly amazing book store for those who love used books and cats. There are at least two cats who are so friendly they’ll crawl on top of you when you even pause for a second. The selection of books is very wide ranging and their stock of paperbacks is extraordinarily large. Staff is super friendly and the decor is quirky. Such a great place for a true bibliophile!”

“solid independent bookstore - was pretty crowded on a Saturday afternoon. Enjoyed pursuing the shelves and reading the shelf talkers, appears that this bookstore participates in indie next list - which was a nice touch to the recommendations. Found it to be a little messier than most bookstores.”

“Great selection of Spanish-language books for kids! LA Librería did a wonderful job helping me to select, gift wrap, and send books to a friend for her new baby - and they did it all over email. I'm grateful to have this bookshop in LA!”

“Why haven't I known this place earlier! I love all the childrens book, workbooks, flashcards, and etc. I will continue to buy more every year for my students! They are reasonable with the price. Seriously trust me! Places like galleria market book store are too over priced with their toys and books in my opinion. I spent a good $300 at this place and bought so many different types of educational things!”

“I've always came here to look around, and it's always the place I love to visit when I walk down on main Street. I just recently visited again and Jeff, the owner of the place happened to be there. Him and the staff were kind, and let me ask lots of questions. Everytime I go, there's always something new and exotic to see.”

“I first heard about Annabelle’s shop from the LA Festival of Books. Their booth was super cute, everything pink. I wanted to buy a book there but they had sold out so they said they could order it for me and pick it up at the store. Their brick and mortar is so cute! Annabelle has not only impeccable taste in design and vibes, but her curated selection of books is great. I plan on coming back to peruse and get my dose of ultra girly, feminine vibes. Great for instagram pics :)”
