“Love love love the skin care! Everything is super high quality and luxurious and love that it’s all made locally. Also my go to for shopping teas! The chai is my absolute favorite!”
“If you love plants, this is a great place to visit. If feels much more like a botanical garden then a retail nursery. There are so many unusual plants here. From anywhere you stand in the greenhouses, there were dozens of different kinds of plants within a few feet.”
“I’ve been ordering from Blossoms for almost 30 years and wouldn’t think of ordering anywhere else. The floral quality and excellent level of Customer Service (seriously they have the nicest staff ever!) will keep me as a customer for life. The arrangements are beautiful works of art and long-lasting (two weeks!) I wish this sweet little business many, many more years of success!”
“Beautiful green foliage and succulent varieties starting from $5.00 each. I bought the variegated string of hearts with speckles of white in 4 inch pot for $10.
There’s a row of flowers shop, lavender shop, orchid shop, ceramic pottery shop in the same building or green house. Very cool place to check out on highway 92 if you love plants or to see if you have a green thumb.”
“Fell in love with this little puppy fountain and the very large dolphin one too. So many things to see here pottery, statues, stepping stones, and garden art. Worth the trip even if just a tourist.”
“An essential stop when planting summer veggies. I appreciate being able to look up detailed information about each product on the website and then stop by and fill up a sack of compost/amendment/mulch. It's a quick trip, pay by the window as you exit. Excellent product too!”
“Half Moon Bay Nursery is a great place for a wide variety of plants. With a Native Plant garden, it is my favorite for a selection of healthy, reasonably priced Native plants. Everytime I go, there seems so be more Natives to choose from. I highly recommend it for any type of plants, trees etc.”
“Ladera Garden is a hidden gem for anyone looking to elevate their gardening experience. As a family-owned nursery and boutique, it offers a unique, warm atmosphere that sets it apart from larger chain stores. The service here is exceptional; the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about helping customers! Highly recommend!”

“Some many wonderful lavender items. I can’t wait to go back. Everything smells so good. If you love lavender, this place is a must!! The staff was also very friendly and welcoming.”
“Absolutely heartbroken that they are closing. I always stopped by to get fresh flowers whenever I visited the coast. The quality is unmatched and the employees are some of the best in the business. I will miss you!!”
“Great fixture in the San Mateo area. Nursery has a pedigree going back three generations. Okay, maybe two, maybe I can't count.
All the flowers you need and Plants you need and vegetables you need and trees you need and shears you need and shovels you need and bark you need.
Yummy nom noms.
Best yet are the second or third generation owners of the place who really know what they're talking about.
Maybe not the best prices, but you don't go there for the best prices, you go because they know what they're talking about.
Bonus points dare: think of four different kinds of plants. Every 5 minutes, pick one in your head, go up and tell them you are having trouble with your plants looking weak. Ask what kind of fertilizer you should use.
I dare you.”
“I came in out of curiosity and was amazed by all the diversity of beautiful plants. Now it is one of my favorite places, although sometimes I just go to relax, everyone is very friendly and every time I go I am surprised because there is something new.”
“Still family run and the best producing garden plants. They only put things out when it’s time to plant and take better care of their plants than any other nurseries we go to on the peninsula.”
“I love Mission Blue Nursery and their amazing selection of native plants. It supports a great cause (San Bruno Mountain Watch) and is also a very fun place to volunteer. I highly recommend this nursery for any needs for your garden.”
“My wife and I were married at the San Mateo Arboretum in June of 2019, it just occurred to me I should post a review! We were very happy with the venue, we had the wedding out in the garden with about 52 people. We used the Pump House to stage things, and had the buffet tables outside. We were able to bring in a catering truck with a pizza oven, and the caterer provided the servers to stage the food and serve the drinks. Our contact helped us with the logistics and was there for the event, when there was an issue with another event in the park blocking the access she quickly worked it out with them and got the path cleared. There are some limitations to work with: no real kitchen for cooking, no dishwashing, and the interior would be cramped for 45 people, so hope for clear weather and bring a mobile caterer. Don't expect to play really loud music or have a big dance party on the grass. But for a small low-key wedding the garden is fantastic, and makes a wonderful backdrop. The price is very affordable, and we were able to book it with 4 months notice, so it was a very good option for us... Highly recommended if it fits your needs!”
“I had such a great experience here. Everyone at the nursery have been incredibly nice and helpful. I recently got my ZZ plant repotted and they did such a great job with it. Debra and Andy have been great to work with. I’ll definitely keep coming back here for all plant related needs.”
“We purchased a beautiful water fountain from Giannini back in 2014 and had an excellent experience with the whole process. Recently, our fountain started having issues and I contacted Giannini. Alex came through for us and found a time slot in their busy delivery schedule to make a service call (we live 2 ½ hours away). Johnny and his crew not only fixed the issue (a disconnected tube inside the fountain) but they took the fountain apart, replaced old components and even scrubbed off all the algae and calcium build-up. Our fountain is working perfectly again and looks almost brand new! Thank you so much Alex and crew!”
“Wonderful diversity of ornamental and fruit trees. Nice selection of herbs, ornamental bushes, and ground covers a well. The owners are super nice and parking is always easy. Nothing I've gotten from here has presented any new pests to my garden.”
“If you're into indoor fine plant arrangements this is the place for you. You can even purchase everything you need for DIY arrangements! The plants here are all simply beautiful! From small simple arrangements to complex layers of arrangements they have everything you would ever need! And the prices are very reasonable too. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Rocket Farms is both wholesale & Retail. Drop by to get your arranging juices flowing, you won't regret it!”
“Important: masks are required to enter. They sell individually wrapped masks at the counter for $1. Oh and cash or checks preferred for all sales; 4% upcharge for credit card.
This is a great nursery to get plants for the multitude of climates in the peninsular bioregion. We live in Foster City and wanted to re-landscape with manzanitas and sagebrushes and this nursery did not disappoint. Prices are reasonable for the area ($16-$20 per 1gal pot). They also have lots of vintage garden stuff, wildflower seeds, and cute decorations.
Five stars for the plant selection and staff friendliness, but -1 star for the cramped spaces and it not being ADA friendly.”

“I've been shopping at Pacific Nurseries for over five years now. It has always been one of my favorite places to shop for clients or just browse/brainstorm. The staff has always been incredibly friendly, helpful and honestly fun! In recent years, they've absolutely done a refresh and have gotten the place organized beautifully, and the plants are looking more beautiful and lush than ever. Highly recommend.”
“One if the few times I've used their tool rental service. Very efficient staff, Ching was working the desk with another gentleman. I had a choice of clearing a drain myself, I needed a electric snake, or calling a plumber. The choice was clear after calling a few plumbers, when they required a diagnostic fee before proceeding, I already knew the issue, a clogged or obstructed sewer drain. By the time a plumber was called, I had already went to home depot, rented the snake and probably cleared the obstruction in the waste pipe. The choice was clear so I didn't bother to contract with any plumber. If you are in need of tools, home depot may be your source providing you have the ability to use them and the knowledge, but really it may take a little longer but the results are the same.I would use home depot again if it arises that I don't have the tools to complete a job”
“I had the best experience with sales/customer service person, 'Anthony'.Not only was he courteous and knowledgeable about a few items I needed , he knew the exact location and even walked me to them!THIS is the kind of service that is needed these days!I hope management recognizes this incredible young man on their team and when promotions are given, Anthony deserves two!I'll most definitely cut my Lowes card in half and be back to your store! Thanks Anthony!”
“Easy to find and easy to park. Two story building, so be aware.Good layout of items and help is easy to find and get advice.Bonus: Safeway and mod pizza and asian food is a minute away.”
“Norman is a very helpful person please ask for him always. Make sure you give him the recognition that he deserves. Keep up the great work. He puts a smile on everyone’s face.”
“We are 2 years into a home remodel project. Not everything has gone ..... (cough !) smoothly. There have been a lot of ups n downs on this merry adventure of financial insecurity and anxiety. But ! Throughout all of our successes and some of our "oh shit ! " moments. Home Depot in San Mateo has been right along side us. They've never given us grief with a legitimate issue and they've always been polite , prompt and friendly. Todays Yelp is a direct result of an interaction that my wife and I had with Steve in the return department. He may not remember me but I remember him from several prior interactions with him over the last two years. Steve is polite , friendly , articulate and genuinely kind and helpful. We had made a serious mistake and bought a very expensive item that was essentially entirely useless to us once we discovered our blunder. I was so relieved to see Steve at the counter. He didn't make a big fuss about our return or ask a bunch of questions to force us to admit that we'd screwed up. (We did. ..) he didn't "oh I need a manager for this .." or act like we were doing something shady. (It seems to me that these days most retailers make the act of an exchange or a refund feel like you're committing retail fraud. It's icky out there folks !!!). Nope. Steve honored the spirit of Home Depot's policy and he helped us fix our blunder quickly and efficiently with a solution that was acceptable and let us feeling valued as a customer. Service like he delivered took away a touch of the angst and anxiety that I have been almost constantly feeling for two years. I might even sleep a little tonight. Thanks Steve !! I hope someone at Home Depot reads this and gives you a bonus or a raise. At the least a cookie !! I appreciated being treated like a human being.”
“Great place to exchange co2 tanks for beer brewing. As of the time of this writing (Oct 2023), it costs $25 to exchange a 20 lb tank instead of some ridiculous prices at other places. The people have always been very nice and friendly. Thank you and keep up the good work!”
