“I happened to be in the area yesterday and decided to check out Madewell on the whim. I walked down to the boutique, saw a 20% off sale sign and used this for my first genuine leather jacket purchase. I was in and out of the store under 15 minutes including trying on two sizes and getting rung up at the cashier for my purchase. Thank you to Maria for greeting me within minutes of entering the store, assisting me in the fitting room, and finalizing my purchase at the front counter. I really appreciate that the whole team helped each other communicate applying the discount and then getting a sleeve protector in the back. Everyone was genuinely cordial yesterday, a win-win experience. I would recommend this store for anyone looking for quality or in my case, a nice leather jacket. Madewell in Burlingame :)”

“This place is a papyrophiliac's dream (that is, someone obsessed with paper and stationery)! They are owned by Itoya, one of the premier stationery empires in Japan, so many of their products are made in and imported from Japan, thereby accounting for the high prices. But it is worth what you get in high-quality paper and writing goods. They have a range of items, from covetable fountain pens ranging from $17-$65+, cute notebooks with Japan-inspired designs, photo albums, Polaroid cameras, film, greeting cards, and randomly, house slippers?! They feel luxe and comfy though. I learned that their cameras and film are made from refurbished materials so that is a bonus!Customer service is always great and they are willing to help if you are looking for something specific like I was: a lead sharpener for my ohto pencil. They didn't have it, but the employee called a manager to inquire for me when he wasn't able to find it. I am annoyed there is a 1-star review bringing down the average so I wanted to bring in my two cents, which is thoroughly positive!”

“Came in on a Sunday afternoon. The store is clean and well maintained. As soon as we walk in we were greeted with a smile. Thanks to Ernie who helped us. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. We were looking to purchase the new soft cushion vans. He answered our questions about the fit and which ones had the best cushion and support. He explained it very well and gave us his opinion. He recommended trying on both types to see which one we felt more comfortable in. While we were trying on the shoes he was still able to help other customers without the stressful feeling. So big shout out to Ernie!!! We left with a pair shoes!!!”
