Value Vet
21724 Sherman Way, Canoga ParkI am a dog rescuer and also have my own dogs. I have used Dr. Sherif over many years and have been VERY happy. I feel he is smart and cares...and the pricing has been fair enough. So for those visits, I'd give him 5 stars. I also want to share one not so good story where I would give no stars. Our dog was limping on her back legs so we took her to Dr. Sherif. Dr. Sherif doesn't do knee surgery but they liaison with an orthopedic surgeon who looked at the x-rays and told us our dog absolutely needed surgery on both knees for a cost of $10,000. We decided to get a second opinion, which was the same. We decided, before moving forward, to visit a Dr. Raviv Balfour at VCA Animal Specialty in West LA. Dr. Balfour said yes, our dog does have 2 torn ACL's but the surgery may not be necessary. He suggested we try Medicam, an anti-inflammatory, for a month or so and see how she responds. Within a few weeks, our dog completely stopped limping and has not limped since, and that was about 2 years ago. Getting a third opinion saved us $10k and saved our dog an enormous amount of pain and suffering. Bottom line, if you are told your dog needs a big surgery, and you aren't sure, get more opinions!!!

Pet Sitting & Training
Pet Peeves Training, LLC
7925 Variel Ave, Canoga ParkSeriously, what are you waiting for? If you are looking for a great trainer, look no further. Make. The. Call. We adopted our dog (Truffle) about a year ago and he was calm for about two weeks. After that, he has been difficult. Sweet at times but at other times....really, really terrible. We've had other dogs but Ttuffle was like no other. So, enter Laura. Our dog had problems with chewing, jumping, barking, mouthing, attention seeking, pulling, reactivity, etc. You name it, we had it. But then, sometime he would just curl up next to me and somehow the world was right. Well, Laura gave me the tools to handle the behavior issues. He's not perfect yet but he's a whole lot better than the pre-Laura Era. From the moment Laura walked into our home, Truffle was barking and jumping on her. We had finished a 6 week obedience course at Petsmart and we still weren't able to control the jumping. Within 5 minutes, probably less, Laura had Truffle quiet and sitting at her feet. That was just the beginning. They say pet trainer are really training the owners and I truly believe that. I realized the lack of respect that Truffle had for me. He loved me but knew he could get away with a lot more with me. A master manipulator! Much of what is published online did not work with what we were dealing with. With Laura's guidance and support much of what we were dealing with has been remedied. A million thanks yous, Laura! You are a life saver (ours and Truffle's). And if you're still reading....BOOK NOW.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants
RING Baked Tofu Donuts
6800 Owensmouth Ave UNIT 130, Canoga ParkThe absolute best coffee and doughnuts in the valley! The doughnuts are gluten free and more cakey than the classic fried doughnut- but amaaazing! Their ube and soy sauce are the best flavors in my opinion. Their sea salt cream iced coffee is delicious- strong, perfectly sweet, and creamy! The owners are also the sweetest people and put so much love and care into their products! This place is 11/10

Topanga Social
6600 CA-27 #9038, Canoga ParkGourmet food court with a relevant bar. How can it go wrong? It doesn't. Everything I've tried so far is top notch, inventive, and delicious. Incredible pizza from D Town, and great sushi from Temaki. And I'm a sushi snob. Downside is that it's all kind of pricey, but it's worth it.

Mc BOBA
7222 Canoga Ave, Canoga ParkI was in the area and was craving boba! I decided to give this spot a shot. I ordered taro milk tea, mango slushie, and matcha milk tea with boba. The spacious interior was perfect for relaxing and soaking up the friendly atmosphere. Although the kiosk malfunctioned, the single staff member went above and beyond to help me out. While the boba initially seemed lackluster, it mysteriously transformed over time, becoming delightfully soft and chewy. Just a heads-up, parking can be tight, but there's usually enough space to squeeze in.

Chilenazo
7238 Canoga Ave, Canoga ParkWent back again after so long for their empanadas. I ordered 6 of them $3.75 each; 2 of each with Spinach & cheese, Chicken & Beef.My mom & I both agreed that the ones with beef were the most flavorful! The other flavors were good too.. it's just we liked the beef ones the most. The salsa & chimicury sauce they gave us were tasty as well!Recommended to others ??☺️Parking: Depends on the hours, sometimes it could be somewhat difficult to find available parking space. Since it's sharing parking lot with many other restaurants, businesses and Starbucks.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of non spicy options.

Dog Haus
6501 CA-27, Canoga ParkAlthough the portion size was small, the food was incredibly delicious. We ordered a hamburger and a sausage, but our food was served in the same containers that had previously held beef burger and sausage. Despite the tasty food, the atmosphere with the lingering smell of beef and the reused containers wasn't personally appealing. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for vegetarians and vegans.Vegetarian options: Kind of sandwich like burger
