Just Food For Dogs
Inside Pet Food Express- Tarzana, 18419 Ventura Blvd, TarzanaStopped by for my dogs birthday this past weekend. Used the self service bath which is great and only $18 and they clean up the mess. Go early to avoid waits but each station has a 30 minute timer. After his bath we shopped around and the staff gave us recommendations on treats and chew toys. Everyone was very friendly.

Pet Food Express
18419 Ventura Blvd, TarzanaLove this store. IT's clean, well -lit, and organized. But the employees are what makes it my favorite place to go for pet food and supplies. A big thank you to Patty: she is always the most knowledgeable, friendly and kind. Patty has actually solved more of my finicky dog problems than my vet has!

Critter Squad Wildlife Defenders.
18730 Oxnard St #301, TarzanaWhat a fantastic experience with the Critter Squad! We hired them for a birthday party and all the guests had a wonderful time. Snakes were our animal of choice and the handler who brought them was great. She did a really good job managing the kids getting enough time with each snake and also giving little bits of info about each snake. The balance between education and hands on fun was perfect. Each snake was calmer and kinder than the next. So much so, that halfway through the snake interactions, guests were literally sitting or laying down on the grass snuggling with the snakes. My favorite part was that she made sure the birthday girl got to hold each newly presented snake first, which really added a touch of feeling special. Would highly recommend working with Critter Squad since the animals were clean, calm, and the price was very reasonable!

HOLLYWOOF PAWS OF FAME
18342 Ventura Blvd, TarzanaI brought my standard poodle in a couple weeks ago, and I was very happy with how she was introduced to the facility and how they checked her thoroughly and then they treated her really well and gave her a wonderful cut and full groom. I'm going to bring my other mini golden doodle there. I'm glad I found them.

Clean Cut Grooming
19315 Ventura Blvd, TarzanaI couldn't have been happier to find this grooming service. I have had bad luck with the places I've tried in the past. Now, I've finally found my new favorite for my puppy boy!! I've been using this service for my dog Kavo, my Australian Shepard. He LOVES when Moe comes to see him. My pup always comes back looking pawfect and full of smiles! And that was never his experience in the past. Moe is dog groomer who owns a dog and absolutely loves dogs. He's like an old friend already. It must be very hard to own a business for over 12 years but I see his Mobile grooming van on the road all the time. Always glad to see he's booked and busy! Moe is phenomenal dog groomer, his haircut is always great. All he needs access to your Electricty and a big parking spot for his van. He always give me an hour window and Moe the rockstar is always on time. So glad to have found this company. Great service highly recommend Clean cut grooming! They treat our pups with personal care!

Fay’s Loving Pets Boarding Services
5454 Tampa Ave, TarzanaFay is an absolute Angel! I can’t say enough positive things about the entire experience of leaving my 2 girls with her. I have a geriatric 14.5 year old who is now going senile so she’s special needs. I really need someone I trust to be patient and kind to her. Fay is wonderful. I got updates and didn’t worry one bit. They’re in the BEST hands with Fay. Thank you, Fay. ♥️

Mutts + Munch
18607 Ventura Blvd Unit 110, TarzanaMahalia and Karl were fantastic with our new puppy, Goose! We did in-home private trainings so our whole family including our daughter could participate. They were both so kind, patient and clear with the training skills. They were very understanding when our daughter got distracted during training and stayed patient with her. They both have such a positive attitudes and sweet dispositions with dogs. They showed great professionalism and were on time for appointments. I look forward to continuing to work with them as we may need tune-ups for our dog as he ages. Highly recommend using Mutts and Munch for your training needs!

Waggin Tails Lounge Pet Grooming/Doggy Daycare
18968 Ventura Blvd, TarzanaThere are not enough stars in the Universe for the folks at Waggin Tails! They are absolutely the most caring and wonderful group of people. I took my 14 year old female GSD there and they made special arrangements to get her in and out quickly so less stress on her and despite the fact that she pooped all over the place, they are still willing to have her back again. She came home soft, beautiful and smelling great! These people love and respect dogs. You cannot go wrong here. I cannot say enough great things about them and their services.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Cafe Du Liban
19223 Ventura Blvd, TarzanaPeople, listen to me. Cafe Duliban is the best! First, it’s owned by Milton Benjamin, perhaps the nicest and most generous dude in the world. Joel is the grill man and Jonathan and they are also amazing humans. The food is solid, and value is there. I eat here 2-3 x per week! Give it a shot, you’ll be happy you did.

VIP's Cafe
18345 Ventura Blvd, TarzanaI had such a fantastic experience dining here recently. It is exactly the kind of place you hope to find when you are craving a solid, comforting meal.
Everything was prepared perfectly, and I especially loved the golden-brown crispiness of the diced potatoes served alongside my omelet. You can really tell they take pride in their cooking. It is a wonderful spot for a relaxed breakfast, and I will definitely be back again soon.

Sam's Philly Steak
18966 Ventura Blvd, TarzanaWhere do I even begin? The sandwich was amazing -- both my girlfriend and I loved it. Not only was the sandwich great, but the fries were absolutely the bomb! The service was just as impressive. The gentleman who helped us today was super nice and really helpful. Oh -- and free refills? Yes, please! Overall, the food was a 10/10 and the service was a 10/10. We're definitely coming back. Bonus points for the cool 3D-printed photos on the wall -- fun to stare at while you eat.

Sharky's Woodfired Mexican Grill
5511 Reseda Blvd, TarzanaGosh, I love some of their new menu items.. My favorite is the mini tostadas which I get with chicken, although the standard Wagyu beef sounds delicious. I haven't tried the new smash burger taco yet, but why has no one ever thought of that before! Look forward to giving it a try. I also love three salads which I rotate through every week. The Numex Caesar salad, which I've maybe had 100 times, the Chinese chicken salad, and the new barbecue chicken salad, which is maybe my favorite now. If I'm feeling really healthy, I'll get the roasted veggie bowl with chicken. This Sharky's location is the best. It's been a long time favor of mine. The food just keeps getting better and better. And the team is so wonderful. I love my Adriana and James and Fidel among others. Primo and Ada and Vicente are in the kitchen and they are the best. Such talented chefs and they care about their creations. What's amazing is that the team seems to enjoy each other's company after so many years. And there is always advancement opportunities through the company and other locations , which is pretty darn cool. I feel like the team is part of my family. They certainly got me through the pandemic! PS, did you know that the fire roasted salsa won the Ventura County fair salsa contest! Deserves it. :-).

Traktir Restaurant Valley
18588 Ventura Blvd, TarzanaI'm no expert on north Asian/eastern European cuisine, however I have eaten a lot of lamb, almonds, fruit, coleslaw, and perogi before and none of them EVER tasted this damn good or made so differently than what I'm used to. Whoever is the chef doing all of this amazing work behind their amazing (and cute) staff deserves at least 1 star. Though I'm sure they would never let it go to their head or would want to provide the standard of those kinds of experiences as this was such an amazing place to see families celebrating birthdays. I may have left that place but a bit of my heart is still there...

Vino Wine & Tapas Room
18046 W Ventura Blvd, TarzanaVino Wine & Tapas Room is one of those rare places that manages to turn an ordinary evening into something that feels thoughtfully curated, almost cinematic in its atmosphere.
From the moment you step inside, there’s a quiet sense of intention in everything—the lighting, the layout, the gentle hum of conversation, the subtle elegance of the space. It doesn’t try to overwhelm you; instead, it invites you to slow down, settle in, and actually enjoy the experience of being there.
The wine selection immediately stands out as something carefully assembled rather than simply extensive. It feels like a collection built with personality and curiosity, not just labels and regions. Whether you’re someone who knows exactly what you like or someone exploring new tastes, there’s a sense that every recommendation has thought behind it, not just routine suggestions.
The tapas bring the same philosophy to the table. Each dish feels intentionally designed to be shared, discussed, and enjoyed slowly. Nothing is rushed or overcomplicated. Instead, there’s a clear focus on flavor harmony—small plates that manage to feel complete on their own while also working beautifully as part of a wider experience across the table.
What makes the food especially memorable is how balanced it feels. You get richness without heaviness, creativity without confusion, and familiarity with just enough surprise to keep things interesting. It’s the kind of menu that encourages curiosity—you end up ordering “just one more thing” because everything feels worth trying.
The service plays a huge role in shaping the evening. There’s a natural ease in how the staff interacts with guests—attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable without being rigid. Recommendations feel personal rather than scripted, and that makes the experience feel genuinely welcoming rather than transactional.
But what truly defines Vino Wine & Tapas Room is its atmosphere. It’s a place that understands the value of pacing. Conversations linger longer, glasses are refilled without hurry, and time seems to stretch just enough to let the evening unfold properly. It’s not just about eating and drinking—it’s about enjoying the space between those moments.
By the end of the visit, you don’t just remember what you ordered—you remember how the evening felt. Relaxed, warm, slightly elevated, and quietly special in a way that doesn’t need to announce itself.
Vino Wine & Tapas Room is the kind of place you return to when you want an experience that feels both comfortable and refined at the same time. A beautifully balanced spot where food, wine, and atmosphere come together effortlessly to create something genuinely memorable.

D'Amore's Pizza
18663 Ventura Blvd, TarzanaThese guys hit all the bases: over the past three years I’ve had their pizza (best in the valley in my opinion as far as taste, fresh ingredients (like, actual chopped in house vegetables, quality meat, and the crust reminds me of NY Style with an LA spin. Just go with it 😆
Their pastas are just as good - fresh and most importantly reheat-able the next day and just as good and consistent, and not just a bowl of nasty grease. Sauce stays… saucy.
Juan is suuuuuper nice! Everyone I call he remembers me even if it’s been months!
I’ve had their mozzarella sticks, calzones, pretty much everything except the salads. (One of these days, I swear!)
Tonight I ordered the specialty slice, which is always made fresh and a MILLION times better than any place that just has their pizzas hanging out under the heat lamp for god knows how long.
It’s just like a fresh pizza. Just instead of a circle, it’s a gigantic slice.
,I also tried their NY Steak Sub. I’ll just say the pictures definitely do it justice! If anything it’s even better “in person” - humongous, and with more than a generous amount of meat and perfect balance of cheese peppers onions and whatever else you wanna add.
Keep up the great work guys!!!
With much appreciation - Alex. :)
