“Really enjoyed our 2-night stay! Highlights include the central location to oceanside/Carlsbad, the walkability to great restaurants/coffeeshops, the very thoughtful curated touches (surfboards, bikes, in-room cutlery and bowls/plates/mugs/glasses), and the outdoor space felt private and secluded from S Coast Hwy (we didn't notice any noise from the street at night). We stayed in room 6 and felt it was the perfect size for 2 ppl-- the bathroom is cozy! Free lot parking right in front was perfect as well. Loved the overall vibe and the attentive, friendly hosts and other guests as well! Would highly recommend for an easy, seamless, memorable stay if you are in the area.”
“We stayed at the Ayres while participating in a nearby soccer tournament. This was the first time staying at the Ayres and we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean, rooms were spacious, staff was friendly, and the breakfast was outstanding. The only knock would be the very small swimming pool, but with the beaches not far from us, that's not a big issue. We really enjoyed our stay!”

A beautiful view of the garden from our Laguna room, peaceful, quiet, wonderful roof top patio, gorgeous flowers everywhere, loved the comfortable bed, the relaxing fireplace was most enjoyable and the very easy check in and out, so much better than a big busy crowded hotel. I wish we could come back much sooner.”
“We love staying in Home2Suites when we travel. The Carlsbad location was great. It's clean from the lobby to our rooms. We didn't hear any outside noise. There was some heavy feet staying above us though. This is a great stay for families or couples. The large room and kitchenette make an extended stay very comfortable.”

“Amazing place! Can't get a better view. Right on the beach literally. Loved the staff, rooms and the included petite breakfast was delicious. Pool was heated and clean. Beach valet was attentive. They have a pillow menu! Only downside is you can't use the amenities until you actually have a room but they were able to check us in a few hours before regular check in. Can't wait to go back!”

“I love this hotel. Stayed for 1 night and the room was clean, beds set up real nicely, and the bathroom was very fancy. Went to sleep on one of the very comfy beds and was overall a great night. To finish the experience, we had a yummy free breakfast at their buffet. Easy parking, nice staff, and little store full of snacks! This place easily gets 5 stars.”

“Great spot, you can’t get anymore ‘on the beach’ and I doubt you’ll find any better than this spot in Del Mat. Close to everything, the staff were very helpful, and the coffee machine is 10/10. A sparkling rose on arrival is a nice touch!! We stayed as a family of 4, and we highly recommend staying here, and dinner at Poseidon next door!”

“My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Alila Marea Encinitas Resort in August 2024, and it was an experience we won’t soon forget. The resort is an absolute gem, perfectly blending modern design with the natural beauty of the California coastline. The setting is breathtaking, with the hotel perched right next to a stunning beach that provided the perfect backdrop for the most incredible sunsets we’ve ever seen.
From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the immaculate condition of the hotel and its attention to detail. The management team, including Richard, Francisco, and Dennise, warmly welcomed us, making us feel like valued guests from the very start. The impeccable service truly set this resort apart—every staff member we encountered was kind, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect.
Our room was nothing short of beautiful, featuring an unbelievably gorgeous ocean view that we could have gazed at all day. The resort’s location is ideal, close to Carlsbad, Delmar and just a 20-30 minute drive from La Jolla, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. However, there’s so much to do right at the resort that you may not want to leave.
One of the highlights of our stay was dining at the on-site restaurant, Vaga. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner there, and the entrées were delicious, featuring fresh ingredients and unique flavors that left us craving more.
We were celebrating my husband’s birthday, and they went out of their way to make him feel special with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in the room. Also, if you are a Hyatt globalist, they will treat you extremely well here at Alila!
In summary, our stay at Alila Marea Encinitas Resort was absolutely perfect. The combination of stunning design, breathtaking views, impeccable service, and delicious dining made it a truly unforgettable experience. We can’t wait to return to this world-class resort and create more wonderful memories.”

“Stayed here during a weekend city trip. The hotel is in a convenient area with access to public transport. My room was small but well-kept. There was a bit of noise from the hallway in the evening, but it didn’t bother me too much. The bathroom was compact, but everything worked fine. Breakfast had limited options, but what was there tasted okay. Staff were neutral but efficient. Decent if you're on a budget.”

“This was our 3rd stay at Leucadia Beach Inn! This is a comfortable, clean, accommodation that is very near many local eateries/coffee shops and a short walk to the beach. We enjoyed morning walks to cafes and evening walks to the beach to watch the sunset. The gentleman that oversees the place is extremely friendly. The room has a kitchenette. We highly recommend staying here and we will always rebook when we return to the area.”

“We reserved a room block at this hotel for our wedding this fall. All of our guests who stayed were very happy with the hotel and commented on how nice the staff was. Destonie, the sales manager, was the one who helped with getting the room block and she was so kind and responsive with any questions we had. She also went above and beyond by letting me use the conference room to do hair and makeup with my bridesmaids and she even left balloons, flowers, and a card for me the morning of! Would highly recommend working with this hotel/staying here!”

“We love coming here! One of our favorite places to stay. The food, and the service is incredible. We love the pools and workout rooms too. We’ve come spring break and several times during Christmas break- it has never felt crowded. Which is one of our favorites about this place. A true getaway. We will keep coming back. Don’t love all four season but this one is awesome.”
“Beautiful city and this hotel was absolutely on point. The rooms are cozy, and have the amenities you need. Full refrigerator and freezer with stove top and dish washer. The continental breakfast is everyday, which is beyond convenient for the business person on a tight schedule. Plus you're off the strip on downtown so there is no pile up or traffic. I highly recommend. I have a few cons but they aren't even worth posting compared to the pros!”
