We booked through a third-party app, but the payment did not reach the hotel, which initially caused a very stressful situation for us. From the very beginning, the staff treated us with so much patience, understanding, and genuine care while we tried to resolve the issue.
Even when it could not be fixed right away, they went far beyond what anyone could expect and generously covered our room for all four nights, along with providing free parking. Their kindness and willingness to help us without hesitation meant more to us than words can fully express.
We will always remember this experience with heartfelt appreciation. Thank you for your extraordinary kindness, generosity, and support during a difficult moment. It truly made all the difference.”

“We were delighted with this Inn. We were late getting thru LA and arrived late. Jai texted detailed instructions about late check in but was waiting for us when we got there. The attentive touches of tea and a healthy snack upon arrival were lovely.
Our feedback is the parking is a challenge. Otherwise the gardens are beautiful, peaceful and everything you could want in lodging. Breakfast was delicious and delivered to our door. Our only regret is not having more time to spend there. Thanks Jai.

“Great little Inn off the beaten path but not by much. We stayed in a large room..very spacious and comfortable. Quaint lobby with coffee, tea and snack with a place to sit and enjoy. Planning on staying there again on our next visit!”
“We stayed for 4 nights and overall had a mixed experience with both positives and some frustrations.
The room was clean on arrival, the bed was comfortable, free parking was convenient, and the location worked well for our family. However, there were several inconsistencies with communication regarding our room request, breakfast service, housekeeping service, and guest service during the stay.
That said, a few staff members stood out. Isai was consistently friendly and welcoming, Adriana made breakfast service much more enjoyable with her attentiveness and positive attitude, and Paola was apologetic and empathetic when concerns were brought up.
I also want to acknowledge Arthur (AGM) and Kevin (GM) for taking the time to follow up afterward and make things right. That effort was genuinely appreciated.
We have family near the Carlsbad area, and despite the challenges, we would still consider giving this property another chance as a potential go-to family hotel.”

“Great spot, you can’t get anymore ‘on the beach’ and I doubt you’ll find any better than this spot in Del Mat. Close to everything, the staff were very helpful, and the coffee machine is 10/10. A sparkling rose on arrival is a nice touch!! We stayed as a family of 4, and we highly recommend staying here, and dinner at Poseidon next door!”

“This is our favorite place to stay. Beautiful views, excellent staff. You can sit on the balcony and watch the sunset. Did I mention that the beach is just across the street.”
“Overall a great stay! We really enjoyed the close proximity to the beach. Our room was quiet, clean, and the perfect size for two adults.
The continental breakfast was generous and had a moderate variety of decent breakfast options - including yogurt/granola, three types of cereal, bread and pasteries, plus a variety of fresh fruit.
Primary reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars is due to the bathroom shower. It was supposed to have one fixed showerhead and one flexible hose showerhead that could either be used separately or together. Ours was broken, meaning we were unable to switch between them and the issue also unevenly split the water pressure so both water streams were weak and made it difficult to rinse my hair.
The seals on the shower were also incorrectly installed, which made it difficult to keep the water in without soaking our towel mat.
Other than that, the bed and sheets were comfortable and we enjoyed watching the included cable tv after a long day walking around.
We recommend this hotel and would definitely return for a future stay.”

- Service is prompt
Cons:
- We had a ground floor room and the kids in the pool were making a lot of noise
- The Queen bed and pillows we had were not Hard enough. They were soft and fluffy and not meant for adults.”

“We stayed at Alila Marea Encinitas for our babymoon and it exceeded every expectation. We absolutely loved our room—beautifully designed, peaceful, and the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on. We truly rested and relaxed, which is exactly what we were hoping for.
The heated pool during our stay was amazing and made lounging outside even better, especially with the ocean views. Every detail of the property felt thoughtful and luxurious without being over the top.
We also want to give a special shoutout to Milad, our valet driver and bellman. He was incredibly professional, always greeting us with a genuine smile and positive attitude. He consistently opened our car doors, escorted my wife and me into the property, and made us feel so well taken care of. To top it off, he even brought us chairs and towels down to the beach for sunset, which made the experience unforgettable.
Thank you to the entire Alila Marea team for making our babymoon so special. We can’t wait to come back.”

“I had requested special room requirements and these were accurately entered by the reservation rep. When I checked in, Andrew reviewed my request and ensured that my room worked for me. I had a room overlooking the ocean and the amenities covered my needs for the stay. Andrew has an excellent customer service attitude and a great sense of humor. Later I asked him for more information about the area and he gave me help finding the items I needed for my work.
Later I dined in the restaurant and Craig was covering the bar and restaurant. He helped me alter my meal to accommodate special diet requirements. He checked in to make sure everything worked for me.
Overall the service met my needs, it's a great location and I would recommend this hotel.”

“We stayed at Hyatt House for a girls’ weekend and had such a fantastic experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was provided each morning — such a great way to start the day. Safety and a good night’s rest are so important to us, and this hotel delivered on both.
The highlight of our stay was Alan at the front desk. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us warmly and set the tone for an amazing weekend. His customer service skills are truly exceptional — attentive, responsive, and always going above and beyond whenever we needed anything.
He’s also funny and very personable, making every interaction enjoyable. You can tell he genuinely cares about guests and takes pride in what he does. Alan is the definition of outstanding customer service. Thank you for taking care of us, Alan!”

“This was my third stay at this hotel. I will probably book again because of proximity to relatives in San Diego. However, especially in the summer, this hotel seems to be the choice for many youth sports teams in San Diego for tournaments. Not saying it's good or bad, it just is so know that going in. For that reason I have to remember to request a room not anywhere near the pool. It was very loud and crowded with teenagers at night even after 10PM. My wife and I would've enjoyed a late evening swim, but didn't bother because of this. So call to see what events are being held and get a room far from the pool.”
