“Very efficient and knowledgeable staff at this location! Like all government entities, doing something that should be relatively simple (like renting a P.O. Box) becomes a frustrating process, mired by a deluge of official bureaucratic forms. Allow me to save you some time... Go online and create an account at USPS.com. Then go to this post office location, which has ample parking and never seems to be as crowded as the other Carson location (Avalon & E 213th), and ask what to do. There is a veteran postal employee, a tall black woman whose name I neglected to get (!), who knows her stuff! She's awesome and will tell you exactly how to proceed! I wanted to rent a box for my mom's birthday, so cards and gifts wouldn't go to her house (it was all part of a surprise). The person renting the box has to be an in-state resident with two specific forms of ID, so I had to have my brother fill out all the forms and pay up front. Of course, I reimbursed him and he gave me the key, but I cannot stress this enough: whoever RENTS the box and PAYS for the box is RESPONSIBLE for the box! DO NOT give account or payment info to anyone else, unless you trust them 100%! The only reason this is a four-star review and not a five-star review is because the lobby and business hours are fairly limited. Most days, the lobby doesn't open until 8:30 a.m. Remember, the person working behind the counter did not create all the rules, forms and bureaucracy. They're doing their job, so be courteous to them! Like all of us, they most likely to be helpful to customers who treat them with the respect and patience they are shown!”

“This location works really well for me since it's in the area. Ive been many times but only needed assistance a few trips and was helped out, maybe not with smiles on their faces, but got done what needed. The self service kiosk when working is a treat soI don't have to stand in line, 1-2 times the kiosk was not operational which led to a headache. It pays to learn how USPS works and saves a ton on shipping if you just buy postage and print labels from home.On the other hand, the mail carriers from this location that deliver to my door have been outstanding and always courteous when I thank them for my mail. It's a tough job that couldn't or wouldn't want to do, so them doing their job is much appreciated.”

“It turns the regular daunting trip to the USPS office (i.e. 15~30 min line) into a very enjoyable experience (5-10 mins). Completely recommend, the staff is great.”

“Typically I loathe going to the Post Office as much as the DMV. Today however I had the most pleasant experience and here are the reasons why. 1. Parking was readily available ( This post office has a good amount of spaces and there is residential parking available as well. 2. The line was non-existent ( There might have been one person ahead of me in line. PRO-TIP: If you come before 11:30 the line is smaller, they tend to get busier in the afternoon) 3. Pleasant customer service ( Ms. Lucy was kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. She even double-checked a shipping policy of the receiving address to make sure packages were still being accepted. Thank you Ms. Lucy you're awesome!) I will definitely keep this Post Office in my rotation.”

“I’ve been to this USPS a handful of times, and the staff has always been very nice and helpful. Like any USPS, there’s often a line, but twice while I’ve been in here one staff member has come out to answer any questions from the line, which really expedites the process. Overall, only good experiences for me at this USPS!”

“BEST PLACE EVER!!! Super professional and helpful, fantastic energy You have to come here, they're much quicker than the post office plus you can get more stuff done in one place! Amazing shop I'm not going anywhere else”

“They are very helpful, no matter which ones are on duty. I’ve lived here for seven years and visit them at various hours and they are the cream of the crop, including my letter carrier. Xerox them or have them teach classes. Lynwood is lucky to have them.”

“I've used many Post Offices in the past, but United States Postal Service stands out. The convenience of online service requests made my life so much easier. When I visited in person to collect my mail, I was greeted by a team that clearly takes pride in their work. Their commitment to quality and their affordable rates make this Post Office a winner in my book.”

“Superb customer service in an immaculate facility is much appreciated. Jay is competent, patient, and always conducts himself as a gentleman of the first order. Efficiency means short standing in line time! Answering every question and addressing each concern promptly, the lines melt away like ice cream in August when Jay and his worthy colleagues are at the counter!”

“This may have been the most pleasant usps visit I've had as of late.I figured going in for passport stuff would be a hassle but no, as long as you have an appointment, and all your paperwork, it is a breeze. The workers are personable, funny, and like family it seems. The entire application process with an appointment took under half an hour.Downstairs, the non-passport section seemed a bit confused about their own self-service machines and the stamps available upstairs. We got a decent amount of cute snowman stamps from the machine much to the employees surprise somehow.”

“For those of you that don't know about the post office. There's a big work load. more people order on line deliveries. Even other carriers us USPS. like Amazon. They delivery at everydoor daily. The employees work 11 hours a day and 6 to 7 days a week. Also it's a month for Christmas that takes more of there time away from their families. And their not getting paid overtime. You complainers seem to think you t b e only person getting a package or sending. They work hard and work minimum 6 days a week and overtime daily. How ungrateful you are for those employees who don't complain about giving more time to their job than their family. On top walking maybe 15 miles a day. I know I'm a new employee with USPS. So you should look at the facts and be grateful someone trys to do the job you couldn't do. and gets no overtime pay for the Xmas season. you should be embarrassed to even be so critical. If you have no idea what they do for you everyday. I bet your never happy. Give us hard working people a friendly smile or a thank you instead. And keep control of your dogs. Thanks for only thinking about you. it's people like you that make people want to stop helping others.”

“This was the second USPS I visited to deliver an Operation Santa gift. The first office I visited wasn't trained nor knowledgeable of the service I was explaining. The male worker at the Manhattan Beach USPS that assisted me was very knowledgeable, quick and efficient. I would return to this USPS to continue using their services, even after the holidays.”

“Every encounter I've had here rather in person or via phone has been great. I especially want to thank my mail carrier San Pedro (yes that's actually his name). He truly is an awesome person that is so kind, caring and attentive. He definitely goes above and beyond.”

“I found my package had been shipped to the wrong address (sending location had put the wrong address, probably because mine doesn't show up in the system), and I was so upset since I wasn't able to go home for Christmas and this was my one thing to remind me of my mom. I should've gotten her name, but the lady who answered not only got the carrier to retrieve the package from the wrong location, but also made sure my carrier got the package and delivered it to me. I can't thank my carrier and this angel lady enough. It would've been an extremely depressing Christmas not having anything under my tiny tree, especially from my mom, who is getting older, and who puts so much thought and love into her gifts.”

“I drive past 3 other USPS offices to get to this one! I ship quite a few packages, I drop them off here. Why? Because me and my customers don’t like waiting for tracking info. My packages get scanned and start tracking quickly, as soon as 45 minutes but never longer than 8 hours (one PO nearer to me once took 48 hours!). I’ve only had to go to the window a few times, service was efficient and I got what I needed.”

“This Place Is actually 1 minute away from my house so when I order something my package comes Last since we’re next to the place or I’m first sometimes it the best”

“That post office gets mail so mixed up after the holidays, and I hear that sometimes mail gets stolen. I think post offices should have security systems installed!”

“[Review #759]2023-045I couldn't remember why I came to this US Post Office in Lomita when there's a perfectly good one down the street about 1/2-mi. from my house in Torrance off Monterey St. However, I did remember why I visited this location... I needed my expired passport to be renewed & we had already booked our flights which departs in 47 days (08/12/19). Gulp! I had to pay a $60 surcharge for the expedited service. It was hump day (06/26/19) with less than 2 hours before closing. I had all my paperwork & expired passport, but wasn't organized with it & still needed to write a check. When you're frazzled, it would be nice to have some reassurance from the postal worker that I have everything in order. She wasn't friendly or all that helpful, but I got everything in the envelope & paid extra for expedited service. Sigh... when I was kid, I really enjoyed quick chats with our mail carriers & looked forward to our letters & packages. I always get a "hello" in, especially during summers when I'm not in school; things have changed a lot since. In any event, I received my new passport the weekend before our trip with 4 days to spare. Whew... talk about the 11th hour! o_O This was our last international trip before the COVID-19 lockdown. We were fortunate for this trip because it was the last time my kids saw their great grandmother in person before she passed on (RIP mormor). Grateful for the speedy return of my passport, but wish the personnel were a bit friendlier.”

“Bought my PO Box here. The cheapest PO Box I found in LA. The clerk was very friendly. There isn't much parking but I didn't have any trouble finding any.”

“It wasn't busy when I went and the staff working was very pleasant and cheerful! The ladies working today both answered my questions and made sure I mailed my passport correctly and safely. I'll be coming back to this location because I'm confident I'll receive a great experience.”

“Claudia and Dan are amazing. Helped me through everything! Very professional! Besides the rude customers they experienced they conducted themselves in such a high manner!”

“I think it's important to start by saying this is the only ALL volunteer run post office on the country. Most of the volunteers are retired postal workers and this location is a tiny, neighborhood-y spot. Definitely not the place for running your business out of. Go to a larger facility that can actually accommodate the large scale of mail services you require. I am very happy to be able to pop in and ask a question, get the occasional stamp and mail out holiday packages. Even if the woman ringing me up is a little grumpy. It's endearing and at that age if you're STILL committing to providing a service to your community after you retire, I think you have every right to be a little grumpy now and then.”

“Nina is the best!!!! So friendly and so helpful. Went above and beyond to help me even though I showed up late almost at closing.... Yes I was that person! Thanks Nina!!”

“They are very active. Packages are processed on a daily basis. Unlike Torrance's, they have a delay of a day or two in processing cheap packages such as First-class .”

“I needed to go to the post office and this was the closest one to where I was at the time. I saw the rating and still figured I'd give it a go. Worst case scenario, I would just go to a different post office. However, I had a great experience here. Very few people, parking was easy, and when I went inside; there was no line. Are you kidding me!!! That's incredible! I did go in the morning, so I don't know if that was a contributing factor. There were two women working and both were great; friendly and ready to assist! I just needed to drop off a prepaid package and the woman who was helping me, gave me clear directions (where to drop it off) and was super polite and thorough.”

“Possibly because not many know of this location, I have never seen a line. I'd always choose it over the Palos Verdes Peninsula location off Silver Spur for quick transactions. Lovely plaza just a plus++”
