“This is by far the best Extended Stay America that I have seen. The property has been renovated, and the manager has her staff working nonstop to keep everything clean and well maintained. Everyone on staff is also very nice and helpful.”

“We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely consider staying here again. One of the highlights was the complimentary hot breakfast each morning. The menu changed daily, which kept things interesting, and there were plenty of options for everyone. The coffee was consistently excellent, and the coffee bar included a variety of creamers, including hazelnut and French vanilla, as well as Splenda for those who prefer a sugar alternative.

Breakfast offerings included hot items, dry cereal, fresh fruit (apples and oranges), toast (white and wheat bread), bagels, muffins, and a fun make-your-own waffle station with two different batter flavors. The juice machine happened to be out of service during our stay, but apple juice was still available in a pitcher.

Our room was clean and well-stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. The overall property was comfortable and well-maintained.

The only downside was the lack of housekeeping service. We stayed for three nights and did not receive fresh towels, trash service, or bed-making during our stay. While this wasn’t a major issue, it would have improved the overall experience.

Overall, a great stay with excellent breakfast options, comfortable accommodations, and friendly amenities.”

“A well kept Hampton with a friendly staff in a great location. The rooms have a refrigerator and microwave. The area is quiet. The may stores and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel has free parking. A nice stay.”

“Stayed here for work. Decent hotel, nothing fancy but also clean and it felt safe as a woman traveling alone.

Gisella at the front desk was lovely, helpful and accommodating on a number of occasions. Loved her! ?

I deducted a star because the carpet needed to be shampooed or replaced. I wore sandals or socks most of the time.”

“Good place to stay for a couple of days, it doesn’t have any bath mats so be prepared for some wet areas. Breakfast is always different but subpar. Free coffee and tea at anytime is a PLUS for me.”

“Room was fairly large, with couch, desk, fully stocked kitchen, even ice maker in the fridge. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Two small issues with the room - someone has clearly smoked in ours in the past and there was still a bit of a residual smell, and single-pane windows let in more freeway noise than necessary and caused conversation in the morning.”

“The rooms were are great. But they REALLY need to do a better job with the quality of their food. It is really really bad with high prices. You're better off going to any fast food join around the area.”

“I enjoyed my stay here. It was a quick business trip and fit the purpose, close to restaurants as well. Just a heads up, access to rooms is external as these are townhouse clusters. Not a big issue. You pick up your key at check and then drive to your building.”

“Rooms were clean enough for a roadside motel. It is located in a sketchy area but has a metal gate at the entrance and feels safe enough inside. The vending machines in the lobby didn't work for me and ate my cash and the attendants were not very helpful. Overall good enough for the location and price for a quick stay.”

“Standard good hotel. Good security. Just not a great location through no fault of their own. It's too bad Oakland needs sooooo much security to keep guests safe.”

“I had the opportunity to stay here through a program the VA referred me too in order to get have temporary housing while we explore other options. The motel is run by what appears to be a family. They all work together, each taking different shifts in order to better assist their guests 24/7. They were always on top of whatever there was facing them that day. I ended up staying here just under 60 days and it went by in the blink of an eye. The property has amazing views of the hills that overlook Oakland and SF. You can even look at the Temple located on Temple Hill. At night the views are amazing.
The area is peaceful. This part of MacArthur Blvd is nice. I’ve walked around to local stores and laundry facilities and have had no issues. It’s a quiet, simple place that you can lay your head down and enjoy yourself. My room was great sized and modern. The shower had great hot water and amazing pressure. I always had clean towels too- something I always find of importance. The bed was comfortable and the tv always worked.
The owners employ a young couple who are fairly new parents. They are worth every penny the owners pay them as they take care of everything down to the smallest detail. The gentleman always greeted me with a smile. His wife also acknowledged me daily with a smile.
For some reason, I am finding it difficult to leave here. I’ve felt apart of their family. If I ever need a place to stay or can refer anyone to a hotel- I will always say the Highlander Motel.”

“Friendly service, quite location, stores nearby. The rooms vary but even the basic room is worth the price. They're clean enough rooms for being a cheap extended stay hotel, like a dive hotel if you will. I never seen a bug there yet, so that's a good sign. Air conditioning, and a TV are in all rooms. They have a good ice machine. they have refrigerator, microwave and a stove top oven for a few bucks more if you need or want that. You can pay for up to week all at once or add on before check out if you need another day. For what the cost is I think it's a very decent and modest hotel. It's a life saver if you're looking at dire straits ahead of you. Less then half a day's work at minimum wage gets you a night and that's piece of mind if your surviving day by day. The only thing is I just wish they would open the pool.. not for the stuck up, silver spoon fed, picky, can't stand a stain or two on the carpet or drapes or those who pretend to be of a higher class bracket than their current situation presents. So if you're one that thinks motel 6 is to low of a standard for you to stay in then go spend an extra 20 to 50 bucks for no real reason other than pride and stay some place else that is no different. Remember looks don't mean a thing, and stop pretending you're above staying at the most adorable place when money is tight, your pride will break you. Humble yourself, accept reality and toughen up and do the smart thing and be happy for a change. You'll feel better in the long run.. to conclude great place to utilize when times are hard and if you're honest with yourself and work towards a better future this place can help you safe your cash and the piece of mind needed to progress. I'd suggest staying there even if you're doing alright just to progress even faster.. only the strong survive and those that survive the hard times have a chance at living.”

“Overall a great experience. The hotel had some serious Renovations going on so made it a bit of a challenge but was able to get through. Elevator shutdown a few times as well. This is a great location in the East Bay very Central to many different things to get to I would definitely recommend staying here again. The breakfast area was well stocked and very clean. Great updates throughout the room.”

“I am a veteran and have stayed here while looking for a permanent place to live. The owners are very nice. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly everyday. The location has convenient access to several bus routes.”

“I loved It here, super nice is an understatement, staff helpful, and my room was incredible, I got a later flight just to stay a few more hrs.. check out at NOON. LOL! Use a booking app and you'll be stunned at the price. Seriously your cheating yourself not to stay here. Check out my pics.”

“Generally a nice hotel for business travelers but the smart TVs in the rooms often have network problems making it impossible to use streaming apps, but sometimes they work as intended.

A quick update after another stay. TV/network was good, no issues. Bath towels are on the thinner side but were in good condition. Good water pressure from shower.”

“Spent time here with my lady last Wednesday. Though I was disappointed with the TV not working the room was clean and spacious. The bed was a bit uncomfortable as well, but still an overall decent experience.”

“Gym super clean. The man checking me in ( Gene? George? Gregory?) was really great, polite, easy going. Alex, the woman at check out, was helpful with printing out docs, etc. super quick and easy. Rooms recently renovated, spacious. Only thing I'd say is that the rooms could use more lighting. I was on the ground floor, so didn't want to open my shades. The breakfast included real bacon, cage free eggs, and overall, I'd most def stay here again.”

“Loved my stay here. The hotel manager was an absolute gem and even introduced me to a few of the resident cats that live on the grounds (not inside), which instantly made it feel like home. Everything was impeccably clean, from the grounds to the building itself, and the rooms were surprisingly spacious. Best of all, it was blissfully quiet—I didn’t hear a single sound from neighboring rooms.
There was a faint whiff of marijuana through the bathroom vent at one point, but hey… welcome to California. Honestly, it just added to the local flavor.
The location is a hidden win. Right across the street is a fantastic Mexican taqueria where I had a chile relleno plate that was genuinely unforgettable. Next door, there’s a Mexican pizzeria serving up a seriously good calzone. The staff at both spots were incredibly warm and welcoming. There’s also a dive bar called Why Not that looked like it would be a great time—sadly it was closed midweek during my visit. And, for a bit of unexpected flair, there’s even a high-end cowboy boot and leather shop in the same complex.
A few reviewers have called the surrounding area unsafe, as a single female I felt entirely safe. Is it bougie and upscale? No, and that's exactly why it's good. It's a working class neighborhood.”

“Valerie at the front desk is so sweet and lovely one of the best workers out of all of the Best westerns we go to. The only thing about this best western is the hot tub jets don't work its like sitting in a warm bath as a loyal Diamond Select member there should be a discount for the members or half off on future stays”

“This is no longer a hotel. It's now the new location of Eddie's Place. A place where medically fragile people discharged from the hospital and are unhoused can come here to recuperate in a safe place among caring and professional nurses and care givers.”

“I stayed here for three nights and found it to be a convenient location if you're arriving at OAK Airport. I was able to take two buses to reach the hotel easily. The staff were very supportive.”

“I stayed here for 3 days! The price was really good. I was surprised how the Room/ bathroom were pretty clean. I have no complaints. Staff were very helpful and nice to me. The Room is smoke-free but not the hotel so you will smell cigarette smoke in the hallways. It’s not that bad but it bothered me a little. No loud noises. It was pretty quiet. So thank you for a good experience.”

“I had a pleasant stay at Days Inn Milpitas. The staff were friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. While the breakfast options were limited, it was still a convenient and cost-effective option.
I would recommend Days Inn Milpitas to anyone looking for a budget-friendly, comfortable stay in the area.”

“This is a dump of all dumps. Nothing butt homeless hanging around approaching you as you arrive. Drugs being passed around and sold out of the rooms. Bed Bugsss. Promise you to stay away this place needs be burnt to the ground.”

“The moment I arrived, the entire experience was smooth and welcoming. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and attentive.

I want to commend the maintenance employee Rich who went above and beyond. When I mentioned a minor issue in my room, he responded promptly and fixed it quickly. It’s rare to find hardworking staff who take pride in their work.”

“Is a decent place the rooms are amazing but the staff is lightly spoken they offer continental breakfast but it is more like a sacked lunch and they require a $100 cash deposit upon reservation which is not the best considering others in the area do not require ”
