“I’ve stayed at the Coronado Beach Resort on several occasions. The staff are consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They are always happy to assist with anything you need, from answering questions about the resort to recommending throughout the San Diego. The location can’t be beat. Steps away from the Hotel Del, multiple restaurants, shops, and the beach.

I’ve stayed in one of the resort’s studio units and was pleasantly surprised by how spacious and comfortable it is. The kitchenette is the same size as the one found in the one-bedroom units, making it easy to prepare meals during your stay. The studio also includes a dining area and a comfortable seating space, so it never feels cramped.

If you’re considering purchasing a week, I highly recommend asking whether a studio unit is available. They’re truly hidden gems that aren’t advertised. Best of all, they’re often available for about half the price of a one-bedroom unit, making them an exceptional value, especially during the summer months.

“A very comfortable place. The cottage/homestead feel was nice and it was a short walk to the nearest beach and restaurants. The snacks and breakfast items were enough. The shower was hot. The bathroom was updated for ADA. I enjoyed my stay here.”

“If you want a boutique hotel in Coronado with history and walkability, this is a great choice. It’s not a giant resort, which we liked. The location, breakfast, friendly staff, and old-world charm are the reasons we would come back. The rooms were very comfortable for our family of 4, and my kids loved how close we were to the ocean. “One of Those Stays You Don't Stop Talking About
I'll be honest; we arrived at Hotel Marisol completely frazzled. Airline chaos had chewed up most of our day, and we showed up exhausted, hungry, and not exactly in vacation mode. What happened next is why I'm writing this review.
James was at the front desk when we checked in, and from the moment we walked through the door, the stress just started to lift. He didn't just hand us a key, he took a genuine interest in turning our trip around. His dinner recommendations were spot-on, exactly what we needed after the day we'd had. That kind of thoughtful hospitality isn't something you can train into someone. James just has it.
The next morning at breakfast, we met Mandy, and she became one of our favorite parts of the entire stay. She has this wonderful warmth that makes you feel like you're catching up with an old friend rather than talking to hotel staff. By the end of our three days, we genuinely looked forward to seeing her. Those are the people who make a place memorable.
The hotel itself is just lovely. Spotlessly clean, perfectly positioned just two blocks from the beach, close enough to hear the energy of it, far enough to feel like a peaceful retreat. The courtyard is absolutely picture-perfect, the kind of space where you find yourself lingering far longer than you planned with a book or a coffee.
And then there's the Friday Wine Down. A happy hour designed to bring guests together; what a thoughtful touch. We met wonderful people, the wine flowed, and it felt less like a hotel amenity and more like something a very gracious host would do for friends.
Hotel Marisol, you won us over completely. We'll be back. and we'll be asking for James and Mandy!”

“We celebrated our honeymoon here and it was tremendous! The personal care was amazing! We were originally booked in a small room but upgraded and it was worth it! We were in a gorgeous one-bedroom with a kitchenette, huge soaking tub, and patio. Our little chihuahua loved it! We listened to the ocean while we slept, ate at Nobu every day, and had the most wonderful time! This was a personal trip but I am going to do a travel article for WHIRL Magazine soon too! This is a special place for everyone! Highly recommend!”

“Great hotel. Hotel Staff are friendly and professional.

Had one issue at one of the restaurants. We're seated at 630p.m. no waiters came by our table. No water menus nit even a comment will be with you. Restaurant was not busy other then another table of 4. We didn't get service until we complained twice.”

“We had to book last minute and they were able to immediately accommodate us. The room was much larger than anticipated and very clean. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful with our questions, they explained all of the amenities so we understood what was included. The parking garage was a great amenity that helped us avoid getting soaked on the rainy days. We had a standard room but we could still see the bay from our balcony. The onsite food options were also well above our expectations for a resort/hotel. We'll definitely stay again!”
