“When my medication was not present at Gellert, my RX was transferred here. The whole pharmacy was amazing in understanding my acute condition and expedited need for medication to abort the progression. It’s dangerous to not treat this issue. It hasn’t happened in years so that’s why I had no medication on hand. They had my RX ready in under 10 minutes and also helped me get my card from my wallet to pay. I’m so so grateful and recommend this pharmacy to anyone!!”

“We brought two kids in for Covid vaccines today (appointments scheduled online, but they do accept walk-ins also).

All staff was extremely pleasant. Quick check-in process. We waited then in the vaccine area for ~10 min. The person administering vaccines then arrived, was very pleasant to chat with and calm/reassuring tone with kids (who were a bit nervous). Very efficient. We were done and out the door before our official 2nd vaccine time slot was.
Area was clean. Also really appreciated waiting area for vaccine was far away from (potentially sick people) in line for pharmacy.

“Limited pharmacy hours at Walgreens Westlake in DALY CITY CA. And occasionally an extra day or two in order to fill a prescription. But overall I love the Walgreens at Westlake Center in DALY CITY CA.”

“I’ll be honest, I do miss Rite-Aid and was not looking forward to losing the personal connection with the pharmacy team that worked there.

My observation is that CVS seems to rival Walgreens as far as occasional long wait times due to being overworked and understaffed but here’s where the similarities end.

Walgreens will have a line of 15-20 people deep and have a single cashier or maybe two but if there’s multiple one of them seems to have the confidence and knowledge as a first day trainee does. The staff is also always busy but they’ve grown callous over making their customers wait an inexcusable amount of time. Not to mention they should have their employees audited for if customer service is even remotely important to the Walgreens employees.

CVS however has always bent over backwards to make me feel like they care. The employees seem just as busy as Walgreens but that doesn’t prevent them from being warm and welcoming. They also do everything possible to accommodate any special requests when asked.

Today the app stated on of my meds weren’t in stock, it was ordered but would be delayed.

I immediately called the pharmacy and spoke to a gentleman named Michael and was able to work out a solution. He was also able to schedule me for my last round of the Shingles vaccine while on the phone. All while being friendly and professional about it.

Would I still prefer the Rite-Aid experience of them knowing my name and prescriptions before I even walked straight up to the counter (without a wait)? Heck yeah, but the lack of customers is probably a big factor in why they are no longer in business in this area. So among the two large pharmacy chains stores that I have to choose from I prefer CVS much more than Walgreens.”
