I have to admit that when I first went in, it was because I was in a hurry and didn’t have time to drive to Lowe’s. But you know what, they have 95% of everything I needed. And if you need to get an oddball screw or nut they are brilliant at that. The people there are so nice. They would ask me why I didn’t ride my bike.

Dana Point Hardware is a place that makes living in a small town so much better.”

“My wife and I have been looking for the right company to replace our windows on our family home for probably about 5 years and we got plenty of quotes and differing approaches but
Rob Fahl from MDW blew them all away.

He reminds me of the way service used to be in our great country. He was personal, courteous, punctual, exemplary in all the ways one would hope when soliciting a service of this magnitude (We got all our windows replaced in our home, over 20).

Above all, he embodied integrity, decency and honesty. If he said he was going to do something it was done. If he said he would offer something, it was done. If he said he was going to go to bat for you, it was done. And he delivered everything with considerable aplomb, a family style, down to earth personal warmth, and executed his promises with precision.

“Whenever I have a problem with my house or vehicle, I go directly to Denault Hardware in old town San Clemente. These guys are wonderful. They are not just nice and helpful people, but they have a practical and effective solution to virtually any situation in which you might find yourself in terms of mechanical or household challenges. Honestly, these knowledgeable people have saved me a fortune by listening to the customer, understanding perfectly what you are requesting and offering a range of solutions to address the problem… like latex paint drips on your vehicle, or repairing kitchen appliances that seem to be broken, how to clean absolutely anything without damaging it… I referred to them as the “Mr Roberts” of hardware stores. I don’t like patronizing Home Depot due to their ongoing heavy financial support for Donald Trump… and nobody there is half as qualified as everyone at Denaults. I can’t recommend this store highly enough. They are more like your helpful neighbors than salespeople.”

“Ace is always a little more pricey than your big box stores, but there are a lot of reasons that Im willing to pay the extra few bucks... convenience, specialty parts always in stock, and GREAT customer service. Their staff is always helpful and 99% of the time they know way more about Home maintenance, repair, upkeep, etc than anyone at the big box stores. It seems like they hire ex-tradesman because they often know more than I do, and I am a GC with 25 years in the trades. I go there when I have questions. On top of that, if they can't help me with something, they will point me in the right direction to get it figured out.

On a different note, as a family, this ACE is great because they always have fun, funny, cute, and interesting stuff to look at. It's a relatively small store, but I could spend an hour or more in there just looking.

They do close a little earlier than other hardware stores, so make sure to check their hours before heading over.”

It’s a little like Doctor Who’s police box, it seems much bigger on the inside and definitely holds more than you think it could.

There are staff who are very knowledgeable and will make sure you get the right thing/part for the job.

It is the opposite of the “big box” stores which have huge aisles and square footage and yet often don’t seem to have what you need in stock.

Here, despite the much smaller size, I have always found the odd light bulb, bit of plumbing, etc. that I needed with the help of the staff.

Do yourself a favor, next time unless you need lumber or something try this store first before driving out to a big box chain store. You will probably be glad you did.

The only downside is that parking is somewhat limited, but know that there are 4 or 5 additional store parking spots in the back.”

“I love Home Depot for it materials that I can quickly purchase, and I love the variety quality of the materials, and I love the people that work there. For the most part, they are helpful and knowledgeable. I am mainly, however, writing this review to acknowledge an exemplary employee, who turned negative things around and made my latest visit a very positive appointment.The story of that visit.As excellent as Home Depot is, there, is one issue, however, that has failed to improve over the years, and that is communication by phone. I have had multiple phone, call, disconnects, and people who were not knowledgeable that should not have been answering the phone to give advice or information. Case in point. I drove to my local Home Depot in Mission Viejo, California, yesterday morning, just before they opened at 6 AM. I was trying to find out information about their Christmas tree lot, a place where we have purchased our trees through the years, and been extremely satisfied with the quality and variety of the trees they have there a lot. As I approach the area with a lot was, I saw no signs outside, showing the times that they were opened, so I decided to call (not wanting to get out of my car on the cold morning and go inside. The automated system gave me multiple hangups, so I decided to wait until a later time. I called again at seven, and then again at eight, but could not reach any live person. I eventually did have someone answer the phone call, but I could not understand him, nor could he understand me. He transferred me to customer service, that ended up being a warranty Department at another location. The woman was helpful, and she gave me information; however, the information was incorrect. She told me that the lot would be opened at 6 AM, which was not true, and she also told me that there would be a new Monday morning delivery of fresh trees, but that they would not be offloaded until Tuesday morning, so I should just wait patiently until the next day.My better judgment, and my knowledge of how the workers at the Christmas tree lot are always ready to offload and always ready to help prompted me to visit the lot in person at 1 PM on Monday. Ali greeted me, asked if he could help, and told me that they were at that moment, offloading the delivery that it just came in. he was only able to pick out an excellent tree for me, but he on the car, gave suggestions about taking it off the car. When I got home, apologize for the incorrect information I had received earlier, and sent me on my way, another successful Home Depot visit, successful only because of an employee who, at this busy pre-Christmas time, chose to go above and beyond.”

But have mostly everything you could ever need. Busy in the mornings so I try to avoid mornings and weekends till the afternoon. Love the garden area. The process of placing the order was incredibly straightforward. I was able to effortlessly purchase a washer and dryer at a price 25% below LG's price along with all the necessary installation components with a check of a box. I even took advantage of the service to have my old appliances removed, which made everything even more convenient, another box checked. Selecting the earliest delivery date was a huge plus - the last box checked.

What impressed me was that I wasn't charged for the units until after installation.

As the delivery date neared, I looked for a message letting me know the delivery time; it came two days before the scheduled delivery date. Then, the day before the installation, I received an automated notification that I would be given a four-hour delivery window on the morning of the delivery and installation. Trust them; it works. On the morning of the delivery, I received an automated message informing me that the delivery would occur between 11 am and 3 pm. The AI component is straightforward; you respond either yes or no - no chit-chat necessary. The delivery team even texted their real-time location, providing me with enough time to prepare before their arrival.

The installers were experienced professionals. At the curb, they "carefully" unpacked the new washer and dryer and efficiently removed the old ones from a tight, tricky space like magic. The delivery team completed the installation in approximately 25 minutes. However, I noticed something that required adjusting; hence, they promptly removed a machine to make the fix.

Surprisingly, before placing the machine back in place, they rechecked all the hookup stuff like electric, gas, water, drain, and vent to ensure all functioned properly. They even reattached the folding doors securely and aligned them, which never closed properly - total time of maybe 35 minutes.

Overall, the delivery and installation process was seamless, and the installers were professional and courteous throughout - no chatting - all business.”
