25300 Steelhead Blvd, Duncans MillsWe spent Super Bowl Sunday at Blue Heron and had a fantastic meal. The sesame-crusted ahi tuna salad and shrimp scampi were both fresh, flavorful, and clearly well prepared.
What really impressed me though was the service. I accidentally left my bag and water bottle behind, and Tom took the time to ship everything back to my home. That kind of kindness is rare and says a lot about this place.
Good vibes, great food, and staff who truly care. Highly recommend.

25377 Steelhead Blvd, Duncans MillsOn every occasion, I’ve been here (and I’ve been coming here for many years) I’ve had nothing short of a superb experience.
This charming café in Duncan Mills is a must stop on your way to the coast. Their coffee beverages are quite good and their pastries are sensational.
I adore sitting on their sunny back patio to enjoy my goodies.
Today we bought two different pastries that were a day old and you could not have guessed as they were both quite delicious. The Pain au chocolat had a great amount of rich chocolate in it.
It’s fun observing the little black birds with their darting eyes, looking for crumbs somebody might’ve dropped.
Another pleasant visit here today!

Cape Fear Café
25191 Main Street, Duncans MillsCape Fear Café was a great surprise. The food was excellent, and the fish and chips were especially amazing, crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. One of those meals you’re still thinking about afterward.
The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the whole experience was really enjoyable. Definitely worth the stop, and we’d absolutely come back again.
