Hair of the Dog Pet Grooming
2770 Stony Point Rd g, Santa RosaSince my dog was six months old (now 3 yrs old) I've brought him to Hair of the Dog. The staff here is extremely patience and love. Despite my dog's anxious nature, they consistently create a comforting environment for him, I've even seen one of the staff members hug and reassure my dog before she started bathing him. Along with this I've witnessed him engaging in playful antics with some of the staff members. Hair of the Dog first caught my attention because unlike most dog grooming places, they opt not to confine dogs to kennels but rather allow them to socialize in communal waiting areas, which I love. When it comes to grooming, I deeply appreciate the dedication of the groomers. They always ensure that I'm completely satisfied with my dog's cut before he departs, even if it means revisiting the table to make adjustments. I highly recommend Hair of the Dog and completely trust them

The Soggy Doggy
452 10th St, Santa RosaWe moved to Santa Rosa 1½ years ago, and we've had a terrible time trying to find a groomer (most won't even return my call). I've been "grooming" our poor 15-yo Maltese for over a year. He hates it, I hate it, and he looked terrible because I am not a groomer.I *finally* got on the wait list with Rebecca at The Soggy Doggy, and got lucky with a cancellation. She listened to what I wanted, and really delivered. WOW. I've never seen Kobe look so handsome even with other groomers we've had in the past. It's obvious that she really cares about the animals in her care and her skill as a groomer is very evident. I've already booked out appointments through the end of the year.

Trim and Proper Grooming Parlor
1587 Farmers Ln, Santa RosaI’ve been taking my dog Luke here for 6 years. I’ve been treated with nothing but respect. Yesterday two groomers called out sick so naturally we had to reschedule. This happens at ALL businesses that have clientele and or patients. Understandable. So of course I was happy to reschedule. To my surprise Jenelle kindly opened her business on her off day Sunday to accommodate the animals needing their grooms during the busy holiday season. What a wonderful person that went out of their way to open their business up on a day they are not normally open. Thank you.

Community Veterinary Clinic
5345 Highway 12 West, Santa RosaI'm so grateful. The best experience I've had with a veterinary office of any kind. The staff is amazing. Incredibly friendly. Cared more about my dog than over charging for needed elements of care than people can not generally afford during financial hardship or not. Less than 24 hours after appointment I received a text with lab results which explained her symptoms. Her medication for the condition was available for pick up the next day. AND then...... spring of 2022 my girl was having symptoms that were highly concerning me. I kept calling them to get her an appointment \u0026 they kept blowing me off. Well she was VERY VERY SICK. I was told her blood work was so messed up the vet said she must of ate something toxic. At that point she had kidney failure \u0026 to attempt to save her life the first 24 hours would cost about $5000.

Heritage Veterinary Hospital
1425 W Steele Ln, Santa RosaThere is very little that can make the loss of a pet easier, especially in an emergency situation and you have an “exotic” pet. I must have contacted 30+ vets/programs in the Sonoma County area and after 3 days of watching my 2.5 yr old heart rat, Blue, struggle for every breath she took, I finally found Heritage Vet Hospital. Not only did they not over charge me but Dr. Lynne Lankes stayed late so we could get to the office so my poor girl didn’t have suffer another night while I had to watch.Dr. Lynne was very caring, kind, straightforward and patient with me, my daughter, and Blue. She presented me with every possible option to help my girl but we both knew it was time to say one last goodnight to her. She made sure Blue was comfortable and that I had time to say my goodnights. She also made sure to offer me keepsakes I wasn’t thinking about at that moment like ink prints of her paws for a tattoo, and a soft foam print of her feet and tail. There is no way to ease this pain but I am very grateful for Dr. Lankes doing her absolute best to take care of all of us.

All About Canines, Positive Reinforcement Dog Training
3295 Linwood Ave, Santa RosaI have worked with Penny since the weeks before we even brought home our golden retriever puppy when he was 9 weeks old. She has been incredibly patient, guiding, and gentle. She has gone and above and beyond, going the extra mile to care for not only Bagheera, but us as a family integrating a new puppy. She has helped set reasonable expectations for a young puppy. We went through some rough patches when we wondered could we even continue with our dear puppy. Penny spent many hours with us to help us create a plan, which has set us on the right path. We have worked with Penny for board and train, boarding, and 1:1 training. She is a lovely teacher who we all appreciate and love!

Healing Hands Animal Care & Pet Loss Alchemy
2384 Gambels Way, Santa RosaI can't recommend Cara highly enough. She provided excellent end-of-life care for my 19-year-old tortoiseshell cat, Frida. Cara was with us every step of the way--from regular reiki treatments and advice on navigating life with a senior cat to facilitating when Frida was ready to leave us. Frida was a VERY particular creature and Cara was a cherished part of her inner circle--high praise coming from a Torty (if you know, you know)! Most recently Cara helped me navigate the sudden loss of my 7-year-old dog. She's a compassionate, insightful, loving human being with the unique gift of helping animals and their people through the death and dying process -- whether it's a sudden loss or a longer journey with hospice care.

Incredible Canine
3163 Juniper Ave, Santa RosaPatrick and Lorna are truly amazing people that have an undeniable connection with dogs. We adopted a Mastiff/Pitty mix who we knew would become too strong and stubborn without solid training, so we did our research, and also through word of mouth found Incredible Canine. We dropped off our little guy for 3 weeks, and when we picked him up we almost couldn’t believe the change and brought tears to our eyes! With consistent at home training and a few weeks of follow up training classes at the facility, our boy is better mannered and much more of a gentleman than we could’ve imagined him at 1yr old. Worth every gosh darn penny, and getting to know Patrick and Lorna along the way was the absolute perk of the package. We truly appreciate them for being so patient, knowledgeable, and genuine.

Canine Constitutional
Summerfield Rd, Santa RosaThis is our dog's favorite place and favorite people other than his own home/people. We have been working with Steve & Silke with Canine Constitutional for 8+ years. They helped with our dog's training as a puppy and beyond - taught him to walk properly on a leash and over a dozen commands in his first year of life. He is afraid of most people, but loves to be with other dogs and he LOVES Steve - he is truly the dog whisperer, building trust and training/teaching with love. We are VERY grateful that we have Steve and Silke to home-board our dog while we are out of town, and we know he is loved and cared for with them just like he is at home. Do yourself a favor, and if you are in a need of training, pet boarding, dog walking, etc., choose Canine Constitutional - they are the BEST!!!

Lately she's been providing invaluable medical services several times a week for my 13 year old cat. Her vets say she must have this treatment to survive. Without Julie, I would have to take her to the vet's office. The traveling and the handling so often would be traumatic and very expensive. Belden Barns
5561 Sonoma Mountain Rd, Santa RosaHalf the fun here is getting to Belden Barns--the road over Sonoma Mountain makes it a bit of a challenge and the entrance isn't super-clear, but once you get inside this sprawling property (and close the gate to keep the deer out) you'll get a chance to see a really cool vineyard/farm/winery taking shape. The tasting in an old barn is unpretentious and straightforward. After a nice Rose' to start, the unfiltered Sauvignon Blanc was an unexpectedly substantive and fruit-forward SB that deserves the plaudits it has received. Belden Barns is also the site of the only Gruner Veltliner planting in Sonoma County (and one of a tiny handful in the whole state) and the estate bottling of it is nicely-made, with a clean finish and solid acidity. The Serendipity Pinot Noir is outstanding--liked it much more than the Estate Pinot Noir, though it was nice to see the contrast in winemaking style between the two (go for the Estate if you like cherry cola). As for the Syrah, well, if you like Syrah, you'll likely like this Syrah. It's a good cool climate Syrah. The tasting consisted of 6 wines but they had plenty of other interesting bottles and we picked up their Blanc de Noirs and a Late Harvest Viognier. Surrounded by so many Chard/Pinot-only places, it's refreshing to find variety while still maintaining quality. While the Wishing Tree experience was a great way to cap off the visit, it was neat just to be able to walk around the vines and see some of the views off of Sonoma Mountain and into the valleys and hills around. There's a lot of interesting history about the property and some really cool farming ideas that they're working on. It's nice to see a winery that's taking a different direction from most others. We'll definitely be back to try the cider and some other wines and will look forward to seeing how the place and the wines develop.

Humane Society of Sonoma County - Veterinary Hospital
5345 CA-12, Santa RosaAmazingly helpful and generous. The Sonoma County Humane Society gave my service dog Honey Girl all her shots and everything she needed to move into housing. We were 2 weeks into August 2022. As of August 1st of that same year, we had been living in my 2013 Turquoise Toyota Prius C with under 100,000 miles. We had been pushed out of our beautiful, 2 bedroom 1 bath home with 3 separate entrances including a wrap-around deck, washer and dryer hook-up with a retrofitted used dryer for the propane where we resided from January 2020 as tenants in good standing until August 2022 by the new home owner and Property Management Manager at Russian River Realty at the time.I was down to my last $30 and they didn't want me to be without food and gas so they only charged me $10 for all of Honey's immunizations and an exam.Little did we know that just one week later, I would be in for a rude awakening. On August 21st 2022, around sunrise, as I was leaving my safe space on the river where I slept at nightfall in my Prius, on my way to the Safeway Starbucks, I would go unconscious at the wheel going around a bend at about 43 miles an hour with no breaking, about midway from the Summer Bridge to Safeway for my morning coffee.I would come to when the air bag deployed. My wrist, bent at a very awkward angle, was obviously broken. Honey Girl was startled but unharmed. She joined me in the ambulance to be transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital where I would learn that my sternum had also been broken, and an EEG with the Neurologist (where I briefly went unconscious again during the test) would confirm I had a seizure disorder (on top of all my other physical, mental, and emotional disabilities) my license was suspended by the DMV for 6 months. However, I was so traumatized and still in shock and did not schedule a review and clearance by the neuro doc until I got to the 7 or 8 months mark; I finally got up the courage to renew my license online almost a year after the accident. I had absolutely no desire to drive: I was freaking terrified.I had no recollection of going around that bend. The speed limit was 40 mph, my last memory was checking the speedometer to make sure I was going the speed limit as it was posted on the sign on the side of the road. I was going 43 mph around the bend with absolutely no braking; all the while crashing into the side of a parked white Toyota Tacoma into yet another white Toyota Tacoma and, indeed, yes, you guessed it, another white Toyota Tacoma, all belonging to one individual. It came to my attention shortly after the impact, as the owner exited his home and was visibly emotionally distraught and disturbed by what he saw outside his door. You see, the first white Toyota Tacoma was given to him by his Dad as he had recently passed away.Prayers for all concerned?????
