“Here's my overdue review regarding the party hosting experience. Spoiler alert: amazing all around (honestly just do yourself a favor and book your party here asap!)

Let me start by saying I'm not one who loves hosting...let alone a big party The process seemed especially daunting with my kids' bdays 2 weeks apart. But Playlab made the process so easy planning my 1 year old's party. I went back and forth hosting one but have zero regrets doing it especially with how wonderful it played out start to finish. Guests also commented on what a perfect venue it was + how nice the staff treated everyone.

- Space: the venue alone has enough activities to keep kids engaged both indoors and outdoors. They also offer to connect you with unique hired entertainment options (e.g. balloon animals, petting zoo). Love the variety of toys/play structures to accommodate a wide age range. Easy street parking. Didn't feel too crowded even at max capacity.

- Included/rental items: this was so perfect to minimize stuff to transport/buy - from included tables/chairs/fridge/freezer to fairly priced serving ware/decor/ice/drinks...they really thought out everything to make it easier on busy parents

- Staff/communication: Jason and Christian were incredibly patient and helpful setting up decor, making sure things ran smoothly, and just being reliable experts to lean on. Having prior planning input + assistance day of saved me so much time and energy.

- Food/Drinks: Appreciated having the freedom to pick our own catering/BYOB option without an additional fee. Overall there's so much freedom to be as minimal or add on as much as you need (and without any added pressure or judgement).

They really built a great party planning system to meet your needs at a transparent, reasonable rate.

I knew my kids would love celebrating here given how much fun they love visiting. The sweet surprise was witnessing first time guests + their parents having a blast. We received so much positive input which helped validate our decision to celebrate extra special :)”

“We hosted my wife’s milestone birthday here, and it was fantastic from start to finish! Only rented the outdoor space and it had the perfect mix of warmth and energy on a beautiful Socal evening. The staff went above and beyond, staying attentive without being intrusive. I had DJ, food, dessert vendors and 70-ish guests so plenty of space. The music setup worked perfectly, and the lighting added a great vibe once the party got going. Everyone raved on how fun the night was! We left feeling grateful so support this awesome community in Altadena and the venue!”

“Lai Lai is such a FIND. The ballroom is spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The rotation of instructors is incredibly experienced, each bringing their own strengths in style and technique. It's a sweet, welcoming community. I highly recommend Lai Lai if you want to learn ballroom from the best.”

“Apex Studios was very welcoming and efficient to work with. The rooftop allowed for amazing images in our publication (V Magazine), and their studio manager and team was very easy to work with. We always look forward to returning to this studio when we have projects happening in Los Angeles. Within the past year, we shot one of our cover shoots here, as well as another editorial. Both the crews and celebrity talent enjoyed using this space.”

“Charming Victorian house turned B\&B with beautiful period decor. Each room has its own vibe — I stayed in the Rose Room with a clawfoot tub. The breakfast was homemade and better than most cafés. Hosts were warm and attentive but never intrusive. Peaceful, historic neighborhood. A total gem if you like unique stays”

“Visiting from Australia, as a relative beginner in the game, Ace made the experience. He is very charismatic, and incredibly knowledgeable. The Lounge itself, is incredibly beautiful. Although, the cigar selection was limited, which may be why it was empty on a Saturday night.”

“As a Los Angeles wedding photographer, I recently had the pleasure of photographing a ceremony at this incredible church — and it was such a memorable experience. The space is LGBTQ+ friendly, warm, and welcoming to all couples, which makes it even more special.

The church itself is stunning, with beautiful gothic architecture, tall arches, and elegant details that give every photo a timeless look. The light inside is soft and atmospheric, creating a perfect mood for wedding ceremonies. For professional photographers, I’d recommend bringing some additional external lighting, especially near the front section of the church, where natural light can be limited.

Couples should keep in mind that the time allowed for photography inside is limited, since the venue charges per hour spent there. In my case, we didn’t have much extra time for portraits inside, but we still captured some incredible moments before heading outdoors.

Overall, I truly enjoyed shooting here — it’s a one-of-a-kind location that blends classic architecture with inclusivity and heart. Highly recommend it for couples looking for a Los Angeles church wedding venue that’s both elegant and welcoming.

“2/21/26 - My mother’s milestone 75th birthday was held here. I can confidently say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the elegant decor and the warm, inviting ambiance. The hall is beautifully appointed, with tasteful lighting and a spacious layout that accommodated our large group.

I personally met Teddy, the owner, and he was genuinely friendly and addressed all my questions whether it was prior to booking the event and also on the day of the event. His staff was outstanding! They were all very professional and clear on the details of everything from setting the tables to serving food and drinks.

The food was another highlight of the night. Each dish was delicious and served hot and fresh. Our guests were thoroughly impressed with the variety and quality of the menu options.

What truly set Fleur de Lis Banquet Hall was their attention to detail and dedication to creating a memorable experience. I highly recommend this venue for any of your party needs.

“Had a free night and were looking for something fun to do. Found a comedy night going down at The Glendale Room which was like 2 blocks away from the hotel. PERF! AND $5 a ticket!?! Can't beat that with a stick!! Such a fun cozy spot! Saw a show called Stuffed cabbage stand up with up and coming comedians. They were all fantastic!!”

“This is a good place, I was at my nephew's wedding, and I liked it, there are good views of the passageway, also this house is located near the Shakespeare house, it seems to me they are quite similar, I also like the staff here, that is, how they prepare and hold events here, in general the house is not bad, and even excellent, I recommend everyone to visit it ?”

“I had my wedding here and I would just like to say that this is the best and most cozy wedding venue ever! The whole night was beautiful and I wish it never ended! Sam was the best guy as he helped us so much along the process and extremely helpful that night. The customer service was also out of this world! I was surprised how attentive all the waiters and waitresses were throughout the whole night. 15/10 would recommend!!”

“Legacy lounge is a really chill and laid back hookah lounge with nice drink selection and good hookah. They have events which make the place tighter especially Saturdays but it’s now my favorite hookah lounge in LA when I’m out alone. Nice RnB and Soultry music. $30-$35 hookah is not a bad price either.”

“This theatre has 'recently' been renovated, and looks amazing.

The interior is very up to date, while the displays pay tribute to the illustrious history of the space.

The concessions is VERY well stocked and has a wide range of selections...but surprisingly does NOT break the bank.

Highly recommend catching a show here if you can (or if American Cinematique has anything good coming up)”

“We had the great pleasure of having our wedding at The Revery, and it was beyond perfect. The warehouse vibe and mix of large indoor and outdoor spaces allowed us to get really creative with our plans. The way the sun hits is truly magnificent and makes for amazing photos, but is even better in person. Also, working with Monica was a joy. She’s extremely helpful and responsive, and was keen on helping in all the specifics of our wedding. “It is spacious and has multiple entrances, making it easy to get in and out.Very comfortable. It's a beautiful place. There is a parking lot right across the street, but I'm not sure how much it is. However, it seemed a bit crowded due to the large number of event crowds. If you don’t mind walking about a blockParking at E Green St, Pasadena, CA 91101 is $12 per day. It's a bit disappointing that there is no discount on parking.”

“This was my first time attending an event at the Moose Lodge. I'd been hearing about and seeing advertised events for quite some time, so I was very excited when a friend invited me to go to a Blues dancing event that included a group dance lesson. I have to say that it wasn't what I expected. It was so much more! This is a whole scene. I consider myself to be a good dancer and have really come to love both country line and blues dancing, but you could tell, as the room quickly filled up, that these peeps knew how to really dance. It was incredible to watch and participate in. It was well worth the cost of the $20 cover charge. I will definitely be coming back with my husband for the next one.”

“Love this park.
I've been going there ever since I was a child.
I've already done a Maps review on the park with photos and this just popped up to rewrite it so and being there up there today was really nice it's like I'm going back home and you know tons of school buses tons of children it's a great family park with a Japanese tea house with koi fish and turtles and the tons of hiking trails and baseball diamonds and a really nice children's play area and of course the the brand Park library.
And if you take a little hike, you can find the Brand family burial cemetery and Mr brand himself is actually buried in a pyramid.”

“We had our wedding here, and I can honestly say it was everything we dreamed of and more. From day one, the team was so responsive, every message, every question, every little detail, they were on it right away. Planning a wedding for over 300 guests sounded impossible at first, but they made it feel effortless. Every part of the process was smooth, organized, and actually enjoyable.

And the food… oh my goodness, the food! There was such an incredible variety every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about it. The appetizers were perfect, the main courses were delicious, and the ice cream was out of this world. It wasn’t just good wedding food it was genuinely amazing food that people still talk about weeks later.

The night itself was pure magic. The space looked stunning, everything flowed perfectly, and we truly got to enjoy our night without a single worry. “Going to the Pantages is an experience. Been more than a dozen times, see something new every time. We were row S for our most recent show, and could see the stage clearly. It was cold inside! Ok to bring a small blanket.”

“The venue was nice. It is dated, but you can tell the effort that has been put into maintaining this landmark of LA. Seats are comfortable and the facilities in general are well maintained for a venue that is 101yrs old.

My only gripe is the atrocious cost of snacks and beverages. That alone makes me want to sit at home from the comfort of my couch with a beverage of my choice for an absolute fraction of the cost.”

“We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the East Angel on October 5, 2024. I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, it was the BEST venue for the type of wedding we wanted. The space needed to be cute on its own but also have a totally customizable feel - and the East Angel was just that! Our handmade colorful decor mixed so well with the furnishings/details already at the venue. We also knew we wanted a space where guests couldn’t splinter off into different rooms (like a hotel). The goal was to keep everyone together in a space that felt intimate - but was actually very spacious! We had around 205 seated guests and brought in a good-sized dance floor and it didn’t feel crowded or cramped at all!
Working with Kirsty was so much fun - she was very open to our ideas and excited to help us see them out. She also had fantastic vendor suggestions and guided us to a brilliant wedding coordinator. Between Kirsty and our coordinator, we felt SO taken care of and were able to let loose and have a total blast on our wedding day!! I’m a fairly cynical person but it honestly was one of the best days of our lives. The energy and vibes were immaculate and the warm, welcoming space at the East Angel is largely responsible for that! Cannot recommend them enough!!”

“The Wiltern is such a cool venue. Parking isn't an issue, there's plenty of event parking next to the Ralph's next door. This art deco building has the most beautiful exterior and the inside is just as gorgeous. I am a sucker for old venues / theaters that have a plethora of history behind them. The inside was honestly breathtaking. The bar had this beautiful aura of pink! The theater was intense. I loved every second of the concert (We saw Beach Fossils here last) but the room itself was a whole vibe. We ordered a couple drinks and the service was helpful. The bartenders were efficient and fast.”
