“One of the coolest grocery stores I've ever been to! There is truly something for everyone here from the vast selection of colorful produce to artisan bread to locally prepared foods. While some items are a bit pricey, you can definitely shop here on a budget if you know what to pick. Additionally, the store is both vegan/vegetarian friendly and I think has a great policy on waste. Many items like cashews are kept in bulk to reduce on plastic. If you like fresh food or simply a solid unique grocery store, the Berkeley Bowl is the way to go!”

Strolled over to Dan's and found them, along with so much other fresh produce. Prices aren't crazy either. They also have a GIANT pumpkin on display and a contest for who can guess its weight. “I needed sandwiches for 3 days of meetings, and we had tried 2 other places for Mon and Tues (one mom-and-pop sandwich place and one nicer established chain). They were ok but we wanted to look for the best place. I found this market on the 3rd day of searching through Yelp reviews. We ordered about 11 sandwiches with chips the day of at 9:30 a.m. for 11:30 a.m. delivery. Ray was so helpful in taking our order, delivering the sandwiches, and being gracious even though I forgot to tell him to add a tip for the delivery! I waited for reviews from the meeting attendees, and they liked these sandwiches the best. We will be back next year, and I saved this business so that I can use them for all our lunches next year. Thank you, Ray!”

“First entering the store you're welcomed with good music unlike other produce markets spots in the location. Music definitely had me wanting to just stay there and enjoy it. Following that were the veggies/ fruit, meat and packaged goods organized in their own separate aisles and sections. First time being I there had to do a lap to get accustomed to the layout. After that I was moving throughout the aisles and even going back to already seen aisles just to take another look and what else I could grab. From asking for help and getting some chicken and carnitas the members were very involved and very welcoming. From the meat department to check out, all store members were happy to help out. The welcoming customer service and the comfort of not feeling like an outsider compared to other stores I've been to around Fruitvale. When I'm back in town this will definitely be the store to come to when I'm in need of something quick to eat or ingredients for the week. Will be back.”
