“Phenomenal selection of legitimately 5 star quality fresh produce, freshly baked local bread, artisanal coffee, quality wines, and more. Every square foot of this market is thoughtfully stocked with quality products. Parking lot and the area of Hopkins st are a little busy, so you're best of biking if possible, but always worth the visit.”
“We love the North Berkeley Farmers' Market — it’s such a great mix of local produce and community vibes. It’s especially nice having a weekday market just a short stroll from home. Perfect for picking up fresh, seasonal goods mid-week and connecting with neighbors. A true neighborhood gem!”
“Marcus is extremely helpful and friendly...
A true neighborhood market! 🥰
Great and convenient place to shop. So many necessities in stock...
Check it out! 👍”
“Fabulous independent, family-owned supermarket in Berkeley. It's huge, with a wider selection of organic and natural products than Whole Foods. It has a large produce section, lots of fresh & prepared foods, and some unique finds. They also offer a lot of local, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free items. I came in for a few things and filled a whole cart of things I wanted to try. 😆”
“Always friendly and helpful, always an abundance of fresh produce as well as eggs, dairy, cheese, and more other staples than one would expect in this compact space.”

“I loved this place under the previous management, but Barbara and Christine have elevated this place beyond just a grocery store.
To be sure, it's a solid grocery store with all the essentials (bread, dairy, pantry staples) and some interesting specialty items. But they're also just so friendly: when they ran out of my favorite cereal or cheese, they remembered me when it came in. They're expanding their produce selection too and often have very local, in-season fruits. While it's sometimes more expensive than the big stores, the prices are often comparable, and I think for the convenience and quality it is well worth it.
On top of that, the expansion of Casa do Petisco and the addition of new events like samba night make this a neighborhood hub too! I'm looking forward to attending more things.”
